Oh. You did quote the whole post though.

Re the bolded, I don't think that really applies to anyone in this discussion. I'm sure those people are out there, but I don't really see that here.
What you are stating is far from the truth. Everything does not go up. Gas has fallen to half of what it did cost recently along with many other things. Whether or not attendance has been good or bad Disney has raised prices every year, sometimes twice. They also have made a lot of drastic cuts to what tickets used to include too.If Disney can charge more for their tickets and people are willing to pay the increased prices then it makes sense to raise prices. Everything goes up! Milk... Gas... Luxury items will go up by larger percentages than staple items in recovery periods.

I did say some...didn't say who, and admittedly that was probably an overstatement. There are certainly some on this thread who want to see more and more rides, a lot of them have complained that rides like SDMT are a disappointment, so one can assume they want more thrill rides. There is a definite theme of more rides, more rides, more rides on this and other threads. So, with that caveat, I stand by what I said.
More rides and attractions is what got Disney to where they are today. Fact is they aren't building at a pace close to what they used to. I invite any one to look at the decade of the 90's. Disney constructed a lot of what they are still banking on today. The only thing they are building at a vigorous pace is DVC. People say its a me me me world. Disney sure seems to be handling their business in a me me me way. Cutbacks and increases, the new Disney management way!If that is true, and "a lot of them" or even "thousands and thousands" want more and more "rides", why is that somehow a selfish desire for some sort of undesirable end result? WDW exists because millions of people want more.
Many of the most popular "rides" at WDW are coaster rides, are they not? Is there something wrong with those people? Should they be going to a different park?
I just don't understand why it's necessary to cast anyone in an unfavorable light because of what they want, especially if a large number of them want the same thing and they are willing to pay for it.

Everyone recognizes that crowds at WDW have been increasing in recent years, and that large crowds are no longer limited to just a few peak weeks. One of the most common complaints on these boards seems to be that WDW needs to add more attractions to give guests more things to do. But, that can create a vicious circle as more new attractions, especially major ones, just increase the crowds and increase the demand on all attractions and other facilities (shops, restaurants, restrooms, etc ). You can't just add more things for more people to do without also working on how they are going to get around.
The most obvious current example is the hub construction that is designed to alleviate the horrendous pedestrian traffic jams that occur before, during, and after parades and Wishes.
I never said they should build thrill rides. I said rides and attractions. Build , refresh, continue to grow. Some food for thought. If you don't build attractions during periods of record attendance and profits, are you going to build when its slow and you don't have as much money coming in?Twas ever thus... Heard the same things 10 years ago on these boards when Eisner was in charge.
I don't think anyone wants crazy thrill rides at Disney. They want themed rides. Preferably ones that tell a story and put you into the fantasy world that was created (or purchased) by Walt Disney Studios.
If you want thrill rides go to Universal or Six Flags.
And I don't understand your need to constantly try and characterize other people's posts as insensitive or insulting or putting people in a negative light....

I don't have to try at all. They are what they are. It's one thing to express an opinion, it's another to chastise others for not feeling the same way by suggesting they get out of your park.
It's hard to dispute what the most popular rides are at WDW:
Tower of Terror
Rock 'n Roller COASTER
Big Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Test Track
Based on recent and current conditions I think it's safe to say a very large number of paying customers would like to see more of those types of attractions.
.
Was anyone disputing that?
Not as long as there are enough people willing to pay more for less.

The poster implied everything goes up so Disney should raise prices too. There is still a substantial savings on gas currently compared to its highest points. Disney world has continually raised prices non stop irregardless of the economic situation in America. It also does have a lot to do with Disney. They too are enjoying a decreased cost for all the buses and equipment that use gas. That could be a substantial windfall!Gas prices are on the rise again and the reduction we had been enjoyng had to do with an overloaded supply in the supply chain. That really has nothing to do with Disney though.
If they were, there might be quotes to support that assertion.Certainly seems like it.
