Love can be equal, but is it?

What would you do?

  • Save your child, letting your husband fall to certain death.

  • Save your husband, letting your child fall to certain death.

  • Refuse to choose and throw yourself off the cliff.

  • Refuse to choose and just let both of them fall.

Not really that foreign, there have been other people, one who actually wrote an article on the same thing.

What is really foreign to me is these weird polls, Don't you people have anything better to do other than sit around and ask people who do you love more or who would you save first, that is foreign and really just disturbing.

If you find it disturbing, then don't look:confused3

This one isn't even a close call for me. Husbands come and go but my child will ALWAYS be my child.

My child is an adult now. If he and Mrs. Tex were hanging on that cliff, I'd grab both of them. And hang on. And hang on. And hang on. Until someone showed up who could help, or they dragged me down with them.

I would do the same - and pray like I have never prayed before!

No question. Save my child. It's my job as a mother. It's what dh would want, plus he'd never forgive me if I did the opposite.

I know I would want to try to save them both.

I know my wife would want me to save our child first.

gosh no way I can make the decestion without more info

how much does she make, do I have any life ins. on her :rotfl2:

I'd save my child. Then I'd spend the rest of my life overwhelmed with guilt that I couldn't save them both.

I know I would want to try to save them both.

I know my wife would want me to save our child first.

I actually think most men would answer this way - try to save them both or save the wife first.

But I think most women would answer that they would save the child first.

I'll have to ask DH tomorrow, but, knowing him, he will probably say, "You spend WAY too much time on the DISboards. I'm not going to answer a hypothetical question that's never going to happen." :lmao:

I once asked DH what he would do if I were pregnant & the doctor told him it was either me or the baby. He told me he'd save me.

Back to the cliff-hanger - For me, I think I would save my child first - knowing that my DH could probably hang on longer than my child.

Just like, if our house is burning down, I'm going to concentrate on getting our children out, assuming that my DH can get himself out. (He'd actually be helping me get the kids out, but that's neither here nor there.)

Like others have said, as a mom, my job is to protect my child. I'm going for the child.

The real quandry would be - if all 3 of my children were hanging off a cliff, which would I save first?

I voted with the majority. The children come first. My husband's response was "I wouldn't let any of you near the edge of a cliff to start with."

And if it ever came down to both of my children in danger, I can't even begin to think what I would do because there is no way I could choose... I always hated the movie "Sophie's Choice". :sad1:
