Love Bugs - status right now?

Can someone tell me what the love bugs are like right now? I know they were there last week and I'm hoping they are gone by Sunday.

Just returned from a stay at VWL.

They were EVERYWHERE, and the dead ones were all over the dock to MK. The wood planks were covered with them.

They were on people's clothes, on luggage, on the boats, and dead all over the DME buses. Did I mention that they were everywhere? It wasn't as noticeable in the parks...but anywhere that had lights (in the evenings) and stagnant water....they were floating and floating and floating in the air.

They arrived early this year and are out in force. Today coming back from KSC we had several bouts of a love bug blizzard. We wash car weekly.

They are harmless to us, but can wreak havoc on a car's paint if left on.

I don't think they're bad. But--I think they bit me! I didn't think they bit but I have two bite marks where I shooed them off.

If they came early, that should mean they will will be gone before I arrive in 2 weeks. Eh, they aren't the worst of bugs by any stretch - just a bit annoying. Course, I've never been in a "blizzard" of them.

We find that they tend to like anything white of light colored too. My husband wears only dark clothing and they don't go near him... we on the other hand ... prefer to go to the parks NOT dressed like Darth Vader daily... so "Bugs are our friends"

We've been here at BLT since Sunday. I can count the ones I've seen on one hand.

They came in early April and left, now they've returned in May with a vengence!

Next scheduled appearance, August-September!

They don't bite, they're just a nuisance!
