Ok..I was skeptical at first, just like i was skeptical when booking changed to 7 days in one go instead of day by day...BUT..I LOVE it!!

Just booked 5 nights at BLT theme park view at exactly 7 months:cool1:...soooo easy.
To think a couple of years ago it would have been a long drawn out process of calling on the dot every day to reserve each day..never knowing if you had the whole lot till the final day...now its just a few clicks on my laptop and job done!:)

I love it too! You can check your wait list, and what I like the best is if a certain resort/view is not available it gives you options that are. I used to be a travel agent so booking everything on line was what we did and really getting to see your options vs. asking MS 100 questions if what you want is not available.

I love being able to see what is available.

I can't use the online booking as the count of my total points is off. It shows 25 less points than I have. I called MS twice. They are aware of it and they have the correct amount of points on my records, but until this "glitch" is fixed, I won't use the online booking. :confused3

Bummer! I hope that fix that soon for you!

I love the on-line booking too. At first I think many were skeptical, however it does appear to be working quite nicely thus far. I had a free ticket on SW that I didn't realize was going to expire. So I hoped on line to see what might be available. I got a SV BLt studio at 9 1/2 months. I was thrilled. So much easier than calling to see what is available. I think I am hooked! :)

If the practical application is as good as the intention, it will be a huge bonus to the membership and a burden shift off of MS.

I deal with scheduling multiple facilities on a daily basis and being able to see availability is key.

Lets just hope we don't start hearing nightmares about it showed online and MS just called to inform me that it was a mistake.

Now I jsut need to convince the DW it's time to book our next trip!!!

I just like not having to call anymore....

Another interesting thing is finding out what is available at 7 months. Last half of Aug and Sept are as many have expressed before not overly busy times for booking. However, it was interesting to verify that things like AKV concierge and value, BLT standard, and BWV standard and boardwalk view would usually have days you cannot get at 7 months or they would disappear very quickly in the morning. Surprising is that except for BWV, Grand Villas were readily available at all places that have them (including MK view at BLT).

Also interesting was seeing what happens at Christmas time at 11 months out. I could do that only for BWV and AKL but witnessed for BWV that boardwalk and standard view studios and 2BRs, boardwalk view 1BRs, and GVs disappeared every day before 9 when you could call on the phone. And for Dec 31, those were gone by Dec 28. It took longer for the studios and 2BRs for pool and garden view to go but they are now gone for Dec 31 and some other nights. However, 1BR standard and pool/garden views for Christmas week including NYE are still open as of today, Feb 2.

AKL concierge and value disappeared quickly daily for all size rooms and Dec 31 was gone for those by Jan 28 (concierge was gone for Dec 31 by end of day Jan 26). Jambo GVs also went but it was not until Jan 31 that Dec 31 and some days before Dec 31 disappeared. Moreover, as of today Kidani GVs are still open. Thus, I now know there is no need to walk the ressie for a GV at AKL during Christmas week and I am guessing it is the same for OKW and SSR. Nevertheless, it does appear to be true that walking may be necessary for AKV concierge and value for any days during Christmas week, and for BWV standard and boardwalk studios and 2BRs if you want Dec 31.

A final "also." I was contemplating booking a boardwalk view 2BR starting December 30 but did not want to do walking (and did not consider it absolutely necessary that I get NYE which I have already done probably too many times). I did make a reservation at 8:01 a.m. on February 1 for a 2BR boardwalk view for a week beginning Jan 1. As soon as I was done, I went in and looked to see if the same type room was still available; it was gone for January 1 indicating that I may have gotten the last 2BR boardwalk view for that night.

I was able to book BWV 2 bedroom Boardwalk view for 12/31 - 1/3. I booked it at the stroke of 8 am eastern on Tuesday (the 31st).

I love booking online too!

I used the online booking while we were at Disney last week to add 2 extra nights. Not only was I able to add those nights, I actually got a std studio at the BWV! :upsidedow Loooooove the online booking! :cool1:

I'm new to dvc, what do you mean by 'walking'?

I agree, the online booking is easy to use and convenient. I just booked OKW, my home resort, for Thanksgiving weekend and got what I wanted, a 1 BR near the Hospitality House. It also showed other options that were available at OKW on those dates.

And did you get a booking confirmation by Email? If so, how long did it take? At first, I was VERY skeptical, but hearing these positive reports is making me reconsider for my next booking.

Can you modify a ressie online? Let's say you book DVC Home Resort at 11 months and use up most of your points. Can you then MODIFY your existing ressie for another resort at 7 months, or do you have to call Member Services to do that?

I think I got my email maybe 4 hours later. I have since added dining plan to one reservation without any problems.

I love it too! I booked a dedicated 2 bedroom at SSR for Thanksgiving week night before last while watching tv with the family. Emailed confirmation came within 5 minutes. I liked seeing the choices available.

Excellent new addition! Could up the competition even more than it already is! Need that quick mouse finger...

I think the answer is you have to call. Can anyone confirm?

The boards are sooooo sluggish.....I digress....

I was told by MS that yes, you can modify your reservation online by:

1. Make sure what you need is available
2. Cancel the original
3. Make the new

Personally I would prefer to call.

So glad that you can now check availabililty without having to call. Makes planning a lot easier.
