Is this possible? My partner and I feel as though it is, only because it happened to us.
I felt that I could trust him, and when I did, it all turned out okay.
We are completely different, but yet oddly work for the best, or are we too young to actually know what love is?

I don't think age makes much of a difference in "Love at first sight". And yes I believe that it is possible. Anything is possible when love comes into play Just remember this. If you love this person, know deep down that you would do anything to protect them, if you think about them day in and day out and have a smile on your face when doing so, and they feel the same about you? I would consider it love...but in all honesty, why put a label on it? It doesn't matter what happened that first time you spotted each other across the way, what matters is the here and now and that your happy.

I've always liked Joni, but I think she's improved with age. She was clever in her younger years, but her songs seem a bit more poignant now.

Love seems to mean different things at different stages in one's life. When you're younger it seems to be a much more powerful thing......and then as life moves on it can still be important, but other things tend to take importance too. A mortgage and sleep, for example.

At any rate, just be happy with the love you've found. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

In my experience, I've found that I've taken time to fall in love with someone, grew to love someone quickly, grew out of love with someone and yes, I feel like I've fallen in love at first sight.

My current partner and I talked online for months. The minute he walked up to my front door, he literally took my breathe away and I knew then it was something special that I could not explain. Call me crazy, but it felt like love at first sight. He says the same thing.

Although I'm sure it was just my animal magnetism.

Okay, we have the SAME story!! Christy & I talked online and on the phone for months. When she drove to NC to meet me..the second she walked through the door, she took MY breathe away. I told all my friends after, "EVERY woman should be kissed like that, at least once in their lifetime!" It was the most amazing kiss ever. I still get chills when I think of it. 4 years this June 6th!

It's absolutely possible. It happened to me. We never intended to be in a relationship - in fact neither of us were looking for or wanting one at the time. The first time I looked into his eyes... I knew. That was 4 years ago...

I met my husband when he was 22 and I was 20. We were together for 10 days and then he went back home to New Zealand (and I was in PA). We talked on the phone and wrote letters to each other (I think that means I'm old ) for a year, and then he came over to the States for Christmas and proposed. We've been married for 15 years. I knew after that first 10 days that he was the man I was going to marry.

Love at first sight absolutely exists.

I met my partner in a pub because we'd been chatting over the net (just as aquaintences) and she was comming to London and needed a guide.

When we first met, well I don't wan't to get too cliche but it was the whole "our eyes met across a crowded room" thing. We were an item within 2 weeks. Moved in together within 3 months (with me relocating to the other side of the UK) and were married (or blessed if you prefer) within 6.

We're still togther after a decade and though like all couples we've had our ups and downs I'd still take a bullet for her. That's how intense the feeling is even now...

I do not beleive that love at first site exists, rather it is just a method to start a relationship.

The thought of love at first site insinuates a relationship is based on looks, but we all know the looks fade, so something else has to be there afterwords to back up the physical. This is where communication comes in, whether it be online, on the phone, in person, etc. You fall in love with a person's heart not what your eyes see.

Maybe it's just semantics, but in the end what matters is you fall in love, not the method by which it happens.

Mine and DHs story is something like this. When I was young and dumb and 21 I threw all of my worldly possesions in the back of my car and moved down to SC to live w/ some friends. I met some of my friends' friends and one of those friends started telling his brother about me.

When we finally met, my DH said it was love at first sight. Actually, he says he already started loving me (if that's possible) by what his brother had been telling him and when he saw me, it sealed the deal and he just knew that he loved me. By the way, he was 18 at the time.

We've been married for 12 years this past December so yea, I do believe in love at first sight! And the sight of him still takes my breath away.

Well seriously. The OP comes here to share about his feeling about love at first site, everyones sharing their wonderful experiences about what we feel about it and if it's happened to us and you come along and just tell everyone that it doesn't exist and proceed to give us a clinical and psychological reasons for what we're feeling like we're not all that bright.

Of course we're not superficial enough to believe that it's all about something visual. If that were the case, I'd be like what Wally said and be in love with Mario Lopez, Sam Worthington, Vin Diesel and a host of others. When we talk about love at first sight, it encompasses more then just eye candy. It's a combination of a lot of things. It's the presence the person gives off, the electricity in the air that happens when you meet that person, that instant bond that seems to magically happen the first time you hug or kiss, hell it can even include smells. It's truly unexplainable.

But thank you for trying to explain it for us anyway.

I'm all for hearing more love at first sight stories. Bring 'em on!
