Lousy National Rates

For 8 days end of June, I snagged a mid-size SUV thru Alamo w/entertain. id, code & coupon for $122 - including tax.:teeth: No such luck for Oct. yet though.

Personally, I HATE the MCO Alamo counter, last time in line took an hour grrr.
Have signed up for QS & plan on using kiosk in garage.

Can't beat National's EA but, it's not worth an extra $200 to use it.

I've never gotten an intermediate sized car for $100 for 7 days. I'd like to know your secret.

Can anyone sign up for Alamo QS? Or do you have to do a somewhat shady thing and "incorporate yourself"?

What codes did you use to get this rate??????? :scratchin

Last time I looked Mousesavers still had the link posted on the Alamo page for the "free" QS registration.

Had a decent rate for a minivan with National over this past Presidents' Day weekend (rent at MCO, return to Dolphin): 5 days for $305 reserved waaay back in September. I never saw any better rate so I stuck with this one.

Just reserved for February 2007 (just under a year off) for the same thing, but this time picking up at the Dolphin and dropping at PBI in West Palm (gotta get a Vero visit in); the price was somewhat more, but heck, I've got a year to check for better. But I will stick with National bcs it's so time-efficient; OK maybe if it's $100 less I might think about Alamo, but only if I can pick up at the Car Care Centre or at the Dolphin.

Just used the id/coupon that came in the entertainment book, the code popped up automatically.

Of course I've been toying w/this res. since Dec...probably modified it at least 10 times w/different discount/codes.

Overall, we usually have the best luck for Nat. & Alamo using enter. book (even beat WDW AP discounts).

Just to clarify, did you use the Entertainment book plus a code and coupon?
Thanks!

I used the entertainment book's ID/code for Alamo that was listed on the coupon. Just checked current rate using codes & it's $177.

Exactly what I meant. The Mousesavers site says: QS is intended for business and corporate customers. You can easily register as a "small business," which allows you to get QS membership. To register, just go to <link> and sign up. I'm not a small business, so I have to fib to get this, eh? If Mousesavers (or anyone) had a blurb that said "As a perk of membership here, you get free QS enrollment", I'd be on it.

Aside: I tried to put the full name of the QS service in, and it got censored! Why can't you say ***********????

Wasn't aware...I "am" a small business. I don't use the corp. ID they provide (haven't got a good rate yet) but, have completed a master rental agreement that covers cc guarantee in exchange for expedited check-in. Also, basically same set up for EA (can get airmiles & free rentals)

I Did add my DH as an authorized user...guess I'm doomed for rental car hell.:lmao:

It is also the name of a limo company that has been banned from the Disboards. I see where that could be a problem for Alamo, though!! :scared:

I have a rental for the beginning of July for a Mid-SUV and the best I can get is $258 for 9 days using the walmart code 428448, rate BY I can't find any coupons that are good for July can you give us the codes your using?
Thanks!! :teeth:

Dont know what im doing wrong, but im not coming up with discounts as much as alot of people are for 9 days beginning next week. Tried the Walmart codes, the Alamo coupons, etc etc and Im still hovering around $280-$300 for a 9 day rental! Of course my entertainment book was last years and I threw it out, should have got the new one! oh well!!! I guess saving on my flight with ff miles will have to be my savings for this trip, but I will keep trying!
