Lots of early Dec/CP/Holiday Tour/CM party questions!

Book 30 days out. We did the Holdiay tour and Walking in Walt's last November. We got a AAA discount for Wlat's I think. For the Holiday tour they had no AA. But I paid with my Chase Visa which underwrites the Disney Visas. The first four digits were the same as a Disney Visa so the CM gave us a 10% Disney Visa discount

FWIW, we loved it so much we plan to do it again this November trip. We're choosing Sunday night (same day as last year) as crowds should be pretty large. It is the weekend before Thanksgiving

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like the holiday parade runs twice a day. Is this correct?

I'm bumping this thread again since I saw some December crowd and CM party questions pop up again. December is getting closer!

I saw someone very helpfully post more details about this year's holiday tour (including a price increase to $64), so I thought I'd bump this thread so that those interested in the tour can read some more reviews. I am very excited that the Christmas season at DLR is getting closer!

I noticed some info/threads about the CP over on mouseplanet. There seem to have been some changes made (no dinner CP deal for instance) that are upsetting people....

I also noticed that the only CP package available right now is the $275 D23 package on Sunday December 6 (holy cow!). I believe the cost includes a one day park hopper, character dinner at DCA, reserved CP seating, and a show at DCA after CP (oh, and a gift bag, but it better be a pretty spectacular gift bag at those prices). Plus I'm sure you need to be a D23 member. I would guess that if these end up being the only reserved seats for CP, the camping out for seats will start early.

Totally OT, its my 100th post!! Yippee!! It only took a year, mostly because I have been able to find the answers to so many of my questions without even having to ask. You guys rock!!!

Seating is extremely difficult if you can't get dinner package tickets, which are pricey. The first show is always tougher to get seats for than the second, but both will require waiting a long time(90 minutes at least) to get your seat. Best bet is to wait for the second show and ask a CM for help on where to go to get seats for the 2nd performance shortly after the 1st one ends. Do this before the 1st performance.

I thought that paid seating is NOT being offered to the general public this year...only D23 members will be able to get dinner packages/seating for performances this year...

Hi all, just bumping this thread again as the holiday season is finally approaching! I did check the mouse planet article that several posters referred to and it does state that a source at Disney has told them that there will not be any other paid seating packages offered at CP this year other than the expensive D23 dinner on Sunday. How will this impact your CP viewing? Will people camp out earlier or will more people just skip it without the reserved seating option? My family is planning on skipping the CP since I don't want to hold a place for several hours just to see a short show (even though I've heard its very nice). I am curious to hear the plans of both locals and out of towners.
