Just my 2 cents here about the sudden abundance of rooms. Could it be that with the recent update last month and then all of the downtime since that cancelled rooms weren't going back into inventory appropriately and they just all dumped in today? Then that starts many chain reactions as people cancel and rebook. That, along with people cancelling because of Delta. I have been looking at my October dates for many months with basically no movement, nothing available anywhere, checking several times per day on the DVC website, WDW (slim availability) and SoG. Today, DVC opened up, every (non DVC) resort is suddenly available on the WDW website, oddly ONLY the DVC resorts have no availability and the whole month of Oct. opened up on the SoG site. So something is happening.....

Just got off the phone with MS about something different but I asked about the crazy availability this morning. The CM said they have had multiple down times today and that was likely the cause. I asked if it was legitimate inventory or a glitch because some very hard to get rooms for hard to get dates were available at many resorts. He said that he hopes it's legit but if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck..........

I’ve been watching Riviera, I’m waiting for September 2 to move my April 2 BWV reservation. I noticed today, lots of rooms for the first half of March are gone, even past the 7 months. Wonder if people are moving Fall trips to Spring.

I thought it might be worthwhile to post this on its own thread. If you've been looking for a room in October to December, check out the site. There's lots of availability across multiple resorts/room types, including some hard to get reservations.

I can't promise it's not a glitch though.

Noticed the same thing a bit before you posted. Insomnia is fun. (pacific time here)

I expect if people cancel, the next folks getting access would be those on a waitlist.

That's not how the WL system has ever worked. People jump in and snag things.

They ended up giving us the option of a room on the hotel side instead or it would simply be cancelled.

That would work for me.

I have been stalking Feb. 25 for a standard view studio at GF. Logged on tonight and there seemed to multiple rooms available that night. Dropped my BWV boardwalk view to switch to GF.

DD and I are headed down for the Princess 10k that weekend and can’t wait to stay at GF. Dh won’t set foot in there so we only get to do it on girls trips.

Now that it's online it seems August availability is changing by the minute. I just snagged 2br preferred view for Aug 21-24 at the RIV

DVC inventory hasn't had capacity reduced. Once the resorts reopened all rooms were available to book.

Over the past week i was able to grab Beach club studio DEC 5th-Dec 11 just missing Dec 9th now, I also could have grabbed Dec 3rd and 4th if i needed too

Ok I’m definitely suspicious of the inventory now. Like I’ve said been stalking Presidents’ Day week, have my rooms but I like to see what’s out there anyway. Feb 22 we are going to universal but coming back to boardwalk the day after so we don’t have a day booked on the 22nd so I grabbed the boardwalk standard studio that’s showing available. I went back and searched again after picking it up and it’s still showing available. With how few standard view studios there are I’m suspect for sure.
I don’t have enough points to try booking another without borrowing. Anyone out there have 15 extra points and want to join in my experiment and try booing that boardwalk standard studio showing for Feb 22?

I’m suspicious because overnight all availability in RIV Standard Deluxe Studios dried up from March-May. Last night there were plenty of days available in April and May. How could all the RIV owners have booked them in 12 hours? Seems strange.

Also, a few nights ago I saw SSR studio availability in Sept go from 0 to full availability. Unpredictable times in DVC!

Wow and wow. Did you get the week in one shot or day by day? I've been looking and about a week ago I could have done a week with one night here there and everywhere. But we are about 50 years to old to be moving every day. We only head to the park for 4 or 5 hours , so we don't like to be homeless for too long.

Regarding SSR, they may have had a building or two "unbookable" due to the finishing of the refurb. If the refurb finished up then those rooms would be put back into inventory.

I am as well. Looking at RIV for remainder of August there is not a single room type available. I'm trying to add one more RIV night on Aug 21 to our current Aug 22-24 stay. Last week there was a lot of sporadic availability there across all room types.

Not sure why having no availability less than month out for the newest resort would be surprising? If people cancel at this point the points go into holding. Also not really surprised regarding the lack of availability at RIV for a Standard View studio. It's significantly fewer points than preferred so it's going to go fast, just like BWV Standard View Studios.

People are definitely cancelling 4Qtr trips. I just grabbed the last night I needed at BLT (11/30). Just happened to look at 11:45 PM CDT. Checked right afterwards and the night was gone. Cancelled my 1 night waitlist and logged out. Then I logged in again after a few minutes. No availability for my night, so I probably did not have a waitlist match waiting for a CM. While I was looking, I noticed sporadic availability for both November and December dates. It pays to keep checking if you still need to complete a reservation.

But we don’t know how many rooms show. It simply could have been just a few and after they showed a waitlist run could have grabbed them as well.

It doesn’t take long. Sometimes when we see things show up for multiple days in a row we assume it is a lot of rooms and in reality it may not be

I was able to get several days at BLT which is so much better tub wise for DH than the sliding door setup at SSR.
