I think they did. Jack's testimony at Kate's trial was that eight survived the crash, but then only six lived. If they want the world to think that Jin died on 9-22-04 he can't be one of the Oceanic Six.

Jack was lying on the stand per the producers last podcast. It is part of "their" cover story.

Yes, it was a lie, but it's what they want the world to believe. As far as the rest of the world knows, eight survived the crash and of those six were rescued. Those are the Oceanic Six. Someone who is reported dead on the date of the crash (even though we know Jin didn't die then) can't be rescued.

Clearly a lot more then 6 survived. We've been watching them the last 3+ years and they even talked about the lie in that episode. However, I would think they must have brought 2 bodies back with them or why would they have made up the story that 2 died of the 8 the survived the plance crash. It would have been easier to just say..."nope we're the only 6 that made it"

Also...there are people still alive on the island in the "future" since Ben told Sayid that his going around killing people was keeping his friends safe.

At least some are apparently still there given that.....

Jack, at least, wants to go back but can't find the island (as shown in the season finale last year).

Hurley was "told" (by Charlie's ghost) to go back and help them. (as shown in the season premier this year).

Syiad's killing is supposidly protecting those that are alive on the island (as told to him by Ben)

Kate doesn't seem to care about them (or going back) at all....but she also has Aaron that she is caring for.

Sun also just had a baby and I would assume that Jin is really dead and as such she is more concerned with the baby then the rest of the 815'ers. If Jin were on the island still (and alive) and I would think she would want to go back and wouldn't go along with the "lie" for very long. She also has lots of $$$ at her disposal given her father if she really wanted to try and find it.

I am curious as to what makes Jack goes nuts and want to try so hard to get back given that at Kate's trial and when he visited Hurley he seemed pretty ok with his life and the lie.

This is what I think as well. Before the Kate-centric episode the previews all said we'd find out another member of the Oceanic 6. The only person revealed to have been brought back in that episode was Aaron.

If Sun's baby is not the +1 I think the it is Ben or Desmond. We've seen Ben off the island and Desmond gets at least as far as the freighter. My gut says that it is Desmond as I believe Ben can come/go at will and bringing Desmond back will play nicely into the Desmond/Penny story.

I think that Jin is one of the 2 dead that they account for and I also think that Micheal will be the other dead body brought back. I think he will redeem himself and die in the process.

Not sure if this was mentioned but, does anyone think that maybe Kate took Claires identity so that she would not have to face the charges for the murder. She seemed so adamant about finding out if the people on the freighter knew "who she was" . Maybe Claire was one of the eight but died somehow and Kate became Claire at rescue.Of course she must get found out since she eventually does go to trial. That would be why she has Aaron. Aaron would be the plus one since he did not crash with the plane but was born on the island...just speculatating !!!

I don't think so. I doubt they would let her keep Aaron once they found out that she had assumed his mother's identity. They would remove him and she would face additional charges.

the producers have stated via podcast that WHO the 8 are is irrelevant. It was a lie, it is just their 'cover' story and it doesn't matter who the other 2 are. I took that to mean that their identities don't play into the story at all.

As for Jin. I'm not sure he is one of the Oceanic 6 as spoiled. But I bet they will clarify in the next podcast. The death date on the tombstone was clearly the date of the crash and it seemed to me that Sun and Hurley went to the grave to keep up appearances, I think he is still alive on the island.

I thought Hurley's 'good' was more tounge-in-cheek than seriously glad the others didn't come. Unless he was possibly talking about Ben or the creepy Oceanic lawyer guy showing up.

If it's a fake body then they'd need an Asian guy and I don't remember any others besides Jin. Just a thought though... there is still that link of Jack to Aaron and next of kin. Kate did ask Jack if he wanted to see "him". Jack is Aarons uncle. Maybe that gets revealed somehow.

Technically neither should be part of the "Oceanic 6" since neither were on the plane when it crashed.

I suppose Ben could've pretended to be someone else, but given the people after him I doubt he would want the publicity.

That I get, and that's what I first thought, but it seemed more like he was there to visit the gravesite as he said pretty soon after he arrived something like "Should we go see him now?" I just don't know why he'd want to go visit a fake gravesite if Jin wasn't in it, just for appearances sake.

Of course, I also thought, my husband wouldn't go next door to see a friend's baby on his own, let alone fly to Korea! So there must be more to it than that.

Shh.....The way most lost fans are they will soon be trying to figure out the connection to Gymboree now!!

I'm surprised someone hasn't yet tried to figure out if the baby at the end was 4 weeks old....weighed 8lbs 15oz.....lived in the 16th floor room #23 of the apartment with Sun on 42 Lost Rd!
