Did she say they can't do continue this, or did she say they can't do this? One implies she wants to stop an affair that's been going on a while, the other implies that she was ready to begin an affair, but now that she's actually in the bed, she can't bring herself to go through with it.

Of course, the way we saw her first, then he sort of popped up behind her, it appeared that they'd already done it.

I thought she said she can't do this. Of course, that statement can be taken either way. I'm thinking the writers wrote it that way so they can make the storyline go either way.

I hate this too! I saw that guy golfing and I thought I was going crazy. Where the hell did he come from? Stick to the people we know please.

Didn't the Hanso Foundation website have something on Cloning? Wouldn't having a fertility doctor be good for cloning experiments? Maybe that is what Juliet is doing. Maybe they kidnapped Claire to get some of Aaron's DNA to clone him?

And my theory on why we are starting to see more "extras" pop up in scenes (both in the Losties and the Others) is because the writers are gearing up for a big Us VS Them showdown and there will be bloodshed and casualties and of course they can't kill off the stars of the show (okay, well they do but not in one big lump ) so they are making some faces familiar to make a bigger impact when they are killed in the struggle.

If Michael comes back, he can never again join the "Lost" society. Who'd accept him after what he did? Walt, they'd accept. Michael -- never.

I think they got rid of Michael and Walt because the actor playing Walt is outgrowing the part. This is the third year but it's only 60 some days since the crash. I think that is why we didn't see much of Walt last year.

It was just to highlight that Desmond, like Locke, is tied to the island's weather patterns. He KNEW a storm was coming (both literal and illusory), and he knew the roof would not be strong enough as is. Did you notice how the roof was blowing like crazy when the storm started up.

So, did he set up the antenna device to attract lightening? Or, did he somehow know lightening would strike that particular spot?

It was all to show that there is another "element" to Desmond....he is more than what he seems.

I love LOST, but they need to move it along at a bit of a quicker pace. They always promise answer, and revelations. Of course they almost never fulfill the promises.

Who else is sick and tired of seeing Sawyer getting the crap kicked out of him every other week? Geesh, how about we pick on someone else for a change? It's getting old real fast and starting to tick me off!!

I had a feeling that they wanted Jack for his surgical abilities. He is very valuable. That would be why they are treating him so good. What I can't figure out is what they want Sawyer and Kate for.

And if they are such peace loving people, then why are they so mean to everyone?

definatly getting sick of Sawyer getting beat up. why don't they slap Kate around a bit? or Charlie.......he's starting to annoy me with his attitude too.

i don't get why they'd want Sawyer or Kate either. the only thing they have in common is they are criminals. maybe that's why?? who knows.

I don't think Sayid made it all the way around. I think he went out and then came back the same way. What we know is the dock where Michael took off and where they covered Sawyer's, Kate's and Jack's heads is the same island. And that's where Sayid docked the boat and where he found the fake village. So if there was a second island they would have to have taken a boat, but S/K/J would have known if they took a boat, right? They were only knocked out before getting to the dock, not after--at least I don't think.

i agree. the whole time i was thinking "SOMEONE would have noticed that there was another island" and "SOMEONE would have noticed if they took a boat to this 'other' island"

Ok, here's a wild theory: The spine in the x-ray - it's Jack's Dad!! Remember Jack found his dad's coffin in the jungle, but there was no body. The island heals (according my other theory, it heals what happened BEFORE they got there, not what happens while they're there), so Jack's dad is alive. The others kidnapped Jack so he can operate to save his dad's life and make peace.

I know it's crazy, but it's not any crazier than the stuff they're giving us!!

well Jack DID "See" his dad once on the island. but we chalked that up to him just seeing things.

maybe Jack's dad and Boone are still alive somewhere on the island(i am NEVER giving up on Boone dang it! lol)

Desmond has an ability to see the future. Remember in last weeks episode, he foretold of Locke's plan to save Kate, Jack and Sawyer.

The whole roof thing in last nights episode was an attempt to get Claire and Aaron out of the tent because Desmond "knew" her tent would be hit by the lightning. When she wouldn't move, his next step was to build the lightning rod to attract the lightning away from Claire's tent.

Charlie made a comment in the very first episode of season one on the odd weather patterns. He called it "end of the world type" weather.

Yeah, anyone who knows anything about pacemakers would know that's NOT how they work; however, the point wasn't to tell the truth -- the point was to scare Sawyer, who isn't really academic-smart. HE would believe it.

I need to go back and look, but when Sawyer pulled the bandage away, it looks like there was a slice in the skin (at least to me in that brief moment of watching through a migraine) If I'm not wrong, it would lead to the assumption that the needle wasn't the actual insertion of the pacemaker.

But you're exactly right - how would someone with no medical background be able to call his bluff, "that's now how it works!" Plus I liked it at the very end when Ben confessed - still leaving it completely open to make Sawyer wonder if he lied the first time, or did he lie about lying? Is he going to risk letting his heart rate go up even after this confession? After all (granted Sawyer doesn't know this, so this is for our benefit) Ben did just that with Locke. He told Locke last season that he didn't push the button when Locke's leg was trapped. He said he let it go to zero, the numbers turned to heiroglyphics, the place shook and then nothing. Went back to numbers and back to normal. And we all know that had to be a lie since we've seen what happens when you don't enter the numbers.

Someone made an interesting obervation on another board that everytime there's a big storm someone dies. Think back to the VERY beginning. The first big storm and oops! There goes the pilot out the window and dropped onto the trees! Then we have Shannon. I can't think of any other storms, but it's an interesting observation. And had Desmond not built that lightning rod, I'm guessing things would look pretty bleak for Claire and the baby.

I'm trying to think. . . I think there was a storm when they went off in search of Henry Gale's balloon. . . but I'm trying to remember if someone died in or around that episode. Could just be an odd coincidence with the storms. . . but still interesting to ponder.

I feel it is has been perfect, up until this past episode. On the top of that ridge, with Henry (Ben?) talking to Sawyer (James Ford?), I finally got completely and utterly "Lost". (I also don't understand how the Others-but-one can be taking Col's death so casually.)

Well, that's not true. They do routinely provide answers. They also routinely raise more questions. If they didn't, the show would end.

Again, with this last episode, I am now officially fed-up with our heroes being jailed.

What I can't figure out is what they want Sawyer and Kate for.

Both are people who are willing to adjust their moral compass to fulfill a defensible need (which may be necessary to side-with the Others), and both need redemption (which perhaps could be the carrot the Others can offer them, assuming the Others can convince Sawyer and Kate that they, the Others, are indeed, the Good Guys).

And if they are such peace loving people, then why are they so mean to everyone?

I don't remember anyone claiming to be "peace loving" -- they've said they're the "Good Guys". We believe that the crash victims are the "Good Guys" yet we've seen them do some pretty violent things, even to their own people. Sawyer made the observation last night: The Others don't fight themselves (when speculating about who might have shot Col).

Ok, last night's episode: the 2-island thing. Sayid walked around the whole island, following the shore in the 1st season didn't he?

No. He was captured by Danielle before he got that far. After all, if not, then he would have also found the Tail Section.

The spinal x-ray: the previews really made it look like it was Ben's, but like somebody said - if his spine was that bad, he wouldn't be punching out Sawyer or hiking. Could it be Locke's? Possibly, since we still don't know how he was paralyzed to begin with. But if the island heals, why isn't is healing this spine?

I doubt there is any reason to believe that the x-ray is recent. I'm putting my money on the fact that it is Locke's, and the Others will use it to demonstrate to Jack that there is something he doesn't understand about the island.

For that matter, if the island heals, why does anybody die? Unless the island only heals pre-existing conditions, and if you get sick/injured/killed ON the island, it can't do anything for you?

I never got the impression that the healing powers were absolute. As a matter of fact, it seems that the healing powers always take time, and have never healed death, so are probably not useful for trauma at all.

And I hope they don't start adding in some of the other folks who survived the crash at this late date.

SPOILER: My understanding is that there are two new characters from the flight this season.

There were 48 that survived, right?

I don't believe that included the Tail Section.

They can drag this show on indefinitely if they add another survivor every couple of episodes. Why bother at all now that we're into Season 3??

There should be at least two more seasons to go (that's why).

I think they've had one bad episode. They can redeem all next week AFAIC.
