Regarding the Boone/Locke sequence tonight, I am trying to figure out what to make of Ben being the TSA officer. :confused3

I was thinking that it represented that he was in control of their destiny :confused3

That's sorta how I viewed it. Especially in context of last week's episode which ended with Ben giving Jack a pretty good proposition (going home) if he just goes along. . . essentially he has to agree to submit to whatever Ben asks of him. When you go through the security line at the airport, you're expected to submit to the screeners without question. Also interesting that they show Jack being submissive to Ben, and they show Kate and Sawyer flirting - iiiinteresting.

At least that was the most obvious parallel I could come up with.

OH! (so much in that Boone sequence) How about Boone telling Locke something about bringing the family back together? With the flashbacks tonight and constant mention of the commune being "family" . . . and obviously less than ethical family. . . I wonder if now Locke is looking at all of the survivors as the family he never had. He seemed to have an extra bit of protectiveness tonight - wanting Charlie to go back, saving Eko, and presumably off to save Jack, Kate and Sawyer.

It looks like Desmond is able to see the future. I wonder if this will be a permanent thing?

That was a weird scene. I'm not sure it's as simple as his being able to see the future. I can't explain it, it's as if he knew what was going to happen, but not from a precognitive perspective.

It seemed more like it was something he experienced rather than just predicted. It was especially strange the way he responded when Hurley said Locke didn't say anything - sorta like he realized that this is something that only he experienced, no one else has experienced it yet. Almost like a strange time travel thing instead of psychic thing.

Maybe Desmond reads spoilers :rotfl2:

That's it. It's as if it happened already. More mystery to ponder.

Great episode. Loved have Locke back. I'm confused about one thing: what was the deal with the hitchhiker/cop? Was he actually a cop, or was he hired by the commune people to mess with Locke? I thought six weeks undercover was a long time for a cop to spend on some hippy marijuana farmers.

I thought of Kate and Sawyer going on together and Jack being left out. :confused3

Maybe it's because he was a rookie. :rotfl:
He sure was cute though! :teeth:

I think he was a cop. The hippies seemed to have a pretty big crop, and if it had been going on a while, maybe it's something the cops would be interested in. :confused3

The previews for next week look horrendous!

I don't know if I can watch. Poor Sawyer. :sad2:

And can you imagine? Ben told Kate it would be a bad 2 weeks. . . it's only what, day 2? Day 3?

I think the cops had infiltrated their farm because of all the fertilizer being used. Agricultural fertilizer is utilized in bomb manufacturing.

Can someone clue me in here- was Locke on the commune before or after his breakup with Helen? Do we know why Locke was in a wheelchair in the airport? Did he get hit by a car after Helen left him, or am I dreaming that...I'm so confused- I seriously need a guidebook for Seasons 1 and 2 so I can go back and reference things.

There is no timeline indicator, but I would guess it was after the break up. He alludes to his dysfunctional family and he was going out with Helen during his issues with his father.

I would like to know the answer too. I had read another thread that suggested Locke was hit by a car and that is why he was wheelchair bound. But, I just watched both season 1 & 2 again and don't recall seeing that.

It's so hard to remember back 2 seasons. I *think* Locke was hit by a car, but that it didn't cause his paralysis. That we still don't know what caused it.
