LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

I am still a Lost fan, even though DH complains every show that nothing happens. Last night I agree was alittle strange. I mean we get an answer, and it's about the tatoo?? Not really up there on my list. And strange story line about it too.

And I said to DH when Sawyer let that guy go, "Why are they not asking him any questions???" That was really odd and made no sense.

One question, what did the girl want to know in yet another strange scene when Jack was in the cage and those clean people came to look? We could not understand what the woman said...

The girl wanted to know about Ana Lucia.

honestly what was there to ask the kid??? the only thing I would have gotten form him is wheres your house.

I loved that we got the tattoo question answered it has been at me for a long time. I personally see why we can't have questions answered yet.
When peopel watch tv they want imediate payoff. this show breaks that mold it. It's more like a book a clear begining, middle and end. You can't give your story away in chapeter 3.

I really enjoyed last nights episode. Yes the littel girl wanted to know about Anna-lucia. and the flight attendent was a nice addation.

He walks among us but is not one of us.....so many ways to interpret that.

I for one like the direction it's going. If you want to talk about a slow booring show where nothign is happening Hero's!!!((I don't get the thrill of this show at all..the charcters suck minus the cheerleader and Hiro, and the sotry does nothign for me...could be cuz im a comic book freak and I have seen this type of idea played out so many times...read the book Rising Stars by JMS...heros completely ripped him off)) But I digress ...Lost is still the number one show for me.

a few answers at a time and raise more...thats the way I like it.

Ana Lucia?? Hmmmm... Thanks! :)

And trust me, I am not one who needs immediate answers. I know that for this show when the answers come the show will be over. I just thought the stories a bit odd last night. And if I were Kate or Sawyer I would have asked the boy how long he's been here, why he'd been in the cage and in that room, what are the others up to, etc.

And I think the show has just not been put together as well this year. We seem to be seeing very slowly moving scenes with "others" and it gets hard to remember what's even going on with the main characters we all grew to care about. Like ending last season with the hatch crisis and by the time they got back to that story line it was very anti-climactic.

I don't need constant action. But somehow we just linger on Juliet's face way too much. The woman takes forever sometimes to get her line out.

But I still love the show and think it's better than most TV. I will be watching to the end!

elizke, I agree with you totally and completely. Never once in three seasons have I wanted to know anything about Jack's tattoos. I never found them very important or significant. I think that is a pretty lame story line and wasted an episode telling it. But, then again, the writers are really good about weaving a story and I am sure we will be seeing Jack's lover again and the importance of his tattoos may become more apparent.

Found this interiew from back during Season 1:

Lindelof said that a DVD set of the first season will come out this summer, before a second season begins in the fall. As the show progresses, he added, it won't venture too far into science fiction as its mysteries unfold. "We're still trying to be ... firmly ensconced in the world of science fact," he said in an interview. "I don't think we've shown anything on the show yet ... that has no rational explanation in the real world that we all function within. We certainly hint at psychic phenomena, happenstance and ... things being in a place where they probably shouldn't be. But nothing is flat-out impossible. There are no spaceships. There isn't any time travel."

Guess this clears up whether Desmond traveled in time. Still not sure whether he has been Claire-voyant (har har) all along or just after he turned the key. I think he just conked out for a while and had a dream where he relived the past. The more I think about it, the more it fits in with the idea that all the characters were "meant" to be on the island.

Did anyone else catch how Bai Ling said she "marks people" and then Isabel said that Juliette has been ordered to "be marked." Of course it probably means nothing.

Speaking of the mark, does anyone know if the mark on Juliet means anything?:confused3

It probably does but as with everything else we have to wait to find out ;)

I don't know about anyone else - but the show is beginning to lose me...I was a rabid fan but with the late time slot, lack of answers to questions, and long hiatus...I actually read the paper while I was watching the show last night (I tivo'd it - so I may try to watch it again):sad2:

Did anyone catch Jin on the beach buying somethign from the kid???

No word on the mark yet. I'll look into it.

No one is goign to talk about the "He walks among us but is not one of us" thing??? This could be Jack is different then everyone else on the Island. This could be huge in the scheme of things. I won't say more for the fact that I could be getting into possible ending talk here.

I am an optimist so I agree, more meaning may show up later to the tatoo thing.

No I missed that about Jin. Interesting.

And yes, I'm sure the "he walks" thing will matter. It is defintely food for thought.

i missed the Jin part too. I'm wondering what the purpose of the flight attendant and kid being there with Jack is? Because clearly that island is for work not living.

The thing that bothers me about that tattoos is that they're Matthew Fox's tattoos, not Jack's. To me it feels like they're reaching for story lines... hey, let's use Matthew's tattoos as a story line.

Honestly, everything probably matters, but by the time they get around to tying it in, so many things have happened it's easy to forget.

I don't even remember if they ever addressed the major cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 with Penelope. If they are going to throw that in there and make us wait all summer, they damn well better follow up and to my knowledge they haven't.

I'm really not a big fan of the "delayed" cliffhanger, it just requires too much thought and too many things to remember.

That's rwhat bothers me too. It would be one thing if Matt Fox DIDN'T have tattoos...but he did and I still think that the only reason they worked them in is because some super-fans wanted to know what they meant and they figured hey lets make a storyline out of it. And the fact that they tats don't literally say what Isabel claims they do is just what irritates. If they actually painted on a tattoo that said "he walks among us but not with us" or whatever, it'd be better, but that's not what they did.

I have definately lost interest in this show that we used to obsess about. the hiatus was too long, the first 6 shows were boring, and these last couple shows are not any better.
we are in 3 shows and we have not seen Locke or Sayeed and no storylines about anyone of the "original" beach crew.
I am so tired of Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and the others.
We need a balance....

it was annoying that they didn't ask the kid more questions about the others and what they were doing there and WHY they hate the crashies...come on.:confused3

Did anyone catch Jin on the beach buying somethign from the kid???quote]

Where was this? I went back to look & couldn't find this. I saw a scene where someone other than Jack was buying from the kid, but it didn't look like Jin.

I think Cindy, the kids and all the other people were there to watch Juliet's trial. Cindy really seemed out of it-brainwashed? :confused3
