LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

I googled the quote he said to Jack/Locke/Sawyer (don't remember the wording now) and it was credited to Alvar Hanso with links to the Hanso foundation. Zeke said that "A very wise man once said (quote)" so he would have to be aware of Hanso. I definitely think you are on the right track!

Did you notice that site is supported by disney aka - abc? They really go all out on this show making all kind of fake websites.

Alvar Hanso is not even a real person:
Alvar Hanso is the enigmatic leader of a fictional organization called The Hanso Foundation, the group behind The Dharma Initiative, from TV's Lost. By now little is known about this enigmatic character, but it is known that he was/is a Danish weapon conveyer who started the Hanso Foundation. His face was only shown in a brief moment in an orientation movie.

so when Zeke said we don't want you here...then why didn't they say...well why did you blow up our boat that woudl have saved us????
I couldn't believe that they all stood there dumbfounded and didn't ask any questions...why are you here, how long?, will you let us in peace? why the kids.....ANYTHING... :confused3

Speaking of Cindy, I asked a question back on page 80. Was Cindy one of the fight attendants? She is listed in the credits in the first three episodes of Season 1.

Yes, she's a flight attendant.

The mole theory is an interesting one! Here is what I think along those lines though. I don't know if I'm sold on Kate being the mole.

Know who I think is the mole?

Rose and Bernard.

Think about it... who are the only people we know of so far that have not been shown to betray or hurt anyone.

Bernard disappeared to the bathroom right when the plane crashed - maybe he caused the crash.

They were each with a different group of survivors so they were able to keep an eye on things

Rose keep insisting that she *knew* Bernard was alive.

They are just too darn nice and sweet and this is LOST and they love to screw with our minds. :teeth:

Or maybe Kate was able to cross the forcefield because she's a MOLE!
How else did they have Jack's name, know that John had 2 guns, etc.

This is not the first time they have known a lot about the survivors.

Remember when they attacked the Tailies, they had a list of who to snatch.

Goodwin told AL that the people that were snatched were "good". How on earth would they know everyone's names and who was 'good' or who was 'bad'? Even if Kate were the mole, (BTW, of course she was no where near the Tailies) how would she know who was good and who was bad by just being around them on the island for a few days? Goodwin may have supplied some of the names for that list, but the same goes for him...how could he have known which among them were 'good people', which ones had murdered, dealt drugs, etc. in their pasts...

Either A- Their lives were followed before the island and they were all brought to the island for SOME particular purpose.

By who, how and why I'm still working on... :confused3

or B- The Others have some sort of special powers and are able to sense everything, including reading their pasts and knowing everything about the survivors. This might make sense considering the fact that they took Walt, who had special powers himself. Zeke DID tell Jack that Walt was 'very special'

Yea, this drove me nuts last night, too. Then, the first thing Jack talks about when he gets back is forming an army??? I mean, yes, they stole Walt, etc, so some animosity is warranted, but why wouldn't you try to figure out who these people are, why they're on the island, why they took Walt? No, it's just "let's kill them all". :rolleyes2 Don't they realize they could catch more flies with honey?

I've always thought that the others wanted Walt because they think he's some sort of savior or something, and they had a prophecy that he would come. They took Alex all those years ago, perhaps thinking that was the child they were looking for. Danielle thought that they wanted Claire's baby, but they didn't, maybe because they know it's a child they are looking for, not a baby? They took the other two kids from the tail section, too. Of course, that doesn't explain taking all the other, adult tailies, or the comment from Goodwin about taking the "good" people.

And Michael seems like a good guy to me, why wasn't he taken? I can't remember a bad thing in his past (that we've seen), other than immediately before the crash, him not really wanting to take Walt, but that was because he didn't know him -- through no fault of his own, it was his ex-wife who took Walt from him as a baby.

Oh yes...I've been to the site before. The point I was making was that if "Zeke" quoted Hanso then he has to be aware of Hanso. He said "A very wise man once said..." which means he considers Hanso a very wise man.

The theory that they are scientists from the Dharma Initiative makes even more sense when you take this into account. That means they would have been there for as much as 40 years, which would account for "Zeke"'s age.

Just a comment on the name GOODWIN. Good win. They are taking the "good," so they win? Something like that.

And something Michael said on the phone before they got on the plane really struck me as an odd way of speaking-- he said "He wasn't supposed to be mine." I hope I'm quoting correctly. But whenever I see that scene, the words sound to me like they could have a second meaning. Anyone else notice that line?

did anyone else see how old that gun zeke was holding was? it was definitely circa 1920-30. that was interesting.

my boyfriend also mentioned the sayid thing about him being in the army and why jack is asking ana lucia.

also, why is zeke so dirty?! he looks like he's been playing around in the mud. even the castaways have been washing up and there is defintely a plentiful source of fresh water on the island.

my thoughts are that's what cloudzilla (or whatever you call the smoke) is...it reads the person's history, etc. If you look at the smoke that Eko encountered and the events/people in it, it was straight from his backstory, and I'm not so sure he was seeing the images. That is how the Others know about the survivors (along with spies like goodwin and ethan, of course)

The more I think about it...Rose and Bernard are a good choice for Moles! Good call Obi! I was always wondering why he went to the back of the plane to use the bathroom instead of the one mid plane by Rose's and Jack's seats. Then he "happened" to get strapped into a seat quick enough to survive the crash and end up in a tree?
Hmm...I'm going to have to think more about this!!

About Walt...remember how his Step-dad didn't want to keep him after his mom died because he "creeped him out". Walt was looking at the bird book then the same bird crashed into the window and died. Walt was reading the Spanish comic book about the polar bear then a polar bear appears in the jungle. I think the Others know that Walt has some sort of "gift" and that's what they wanted. You have to remember also that one of the studies of the Hanzo Foundation was telekenetics. Maybe Walt is?

You know, I wonder if Walt's mom was somehow connected to the Hanso foundation and Walt is not really Michael's biological son but some type of genetic experiment that his mom was taking part in. Maybe they had her taking some kind of drug or treatment when she was pregnant that eventually led to her death?

I believe the weapons were old that Zeke was using was because part of the Hanso Foundation was to provide weapons for World War 2. so I'm sure they were left overs.

You may be on to something. I did not realize before but after I read this yesterday I went to the Lost website and in the upper corner is a picture of the Lost survivors, but, Rose and Bernard are missing. Very interesting. Take a look.

Only the series regulars are in the photo. The actors who play Rose and Bernard are 'guest stars' not series regulars.

It has to do with their contract status. The 'regulars' are basically locked into Lost. The others can likely do other things at the same time.

Soap operas are a good example of this type of casting. Contract regulars have airtime guarentees and other benifits. Then there are recurring characters who don't have the same benifits but fill in the canvas.
