LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

Someone asked about the Oceanic site..that seat 42 F was flashing....did anyone click on the F?

Yeah, the back of the plane falls off and it cuts to a preview with Ana Lucia saying, "Don't worry, the worst is over." Since that is Ana Lucia's seat we're guessing that the people on the back of the plane are on the other side of the island. :)

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before... but in last weeks episode Hurley says that he learned of the "numbers" from someone he was with in the psych ward... which led him to win the money. Do we know who he was in the psych ward with? Could it have been Desmond?

Hurley was in the psych ward with Leonard, who was stationed on an island in the South Pacific with Sam Toomey. We don't know if they were stationed near or under the same conditions as Desmond, but it is certainly possible.

See post 258, to which no one responded :rotfl:

Didn't Desmond start playing his record at the time he told Locke to type the numbers in?
No, Locke typed the numbers then a moment later they heard Jack calling for him. It was while Jack was looking around that he turned the music on.

FYI, I noticed a mistake in the editing of this scene. After seeing this week's episode, I went back to last weeks to see if we could hear Kate yelling Jack's name over the music (I couldn't). I noticed that the tracks of the song didn't match during the two scenes. Hee hee.

I know one of the fruits in the blender were definitly marachino cherries. They had that distinctive artificial red color.

Maybe the countdown was to keep the hatch from opening. I wonder if someone was supposed to relieve Desmond a long time ago and that is why he asked if the world was still out there. Maybe someone was supposed to come at a pre-arranged time and they could only get in when the hatch opened. If they didn't get there the first time they would have to wait 108 minutes until the next opening.

I just thought of something. If the 108 minute thing has to do with the hatch, why did Desmond still have Locke reset it after it had been blown off?

Maybe it has something to do with the magnetic field. If the code goes off, the magnetic field turns offf? :confused3

I didn't think of that, but the man may have popped his cork being stuck in there. I think according to interviews with the cast that they are supposed to give us lots of anwers in the next episode. There was and interview with Evangeline Lily where she said that we would get some answers in episode one and the rest in episode three. I guess we'll see.

I honestly don't think anyone's bringing him supplies in there; he has what he has. I think he's waiting for someone, somebody. The question is, who?

Maybe we'll find this out next week.

I just remembered something - remember when Locke gives Sayid his compass and says he doesn't need it anymore and Sayid looks at it and the compass is going all goofy and the compass can't figure out which way is north. Well, that magnet thingy in the hatch would explain why the compass wasn't working right. Still have no idea why the magnet thingy is there or what it is for, but I just remembered the compass.

I am watching my season 1 DVDs right now and listening to the commentary for the epsiode Walkabout and I saw the compass on Locke's vest when they go hunting for boar. By the way I am loving the commentary for the episodes. I don't think every episode from Season 1 has commentary (I haven't looked through all the DVDs yet) but they are fun to listen to. Also, has anyone else found Easter Eggs on the DVDs? I found one on disc 7 (the disc with all the extras on it). On the main DVD menu for disc 7 you can move the dot over to the right side of the words "disc 7" and push enter and you see an alternate opening for the credits. Nothing too special, but kinda neat.

I found about 5 Easter Eggs on the set (we managed to get through the entire set before the season premiere!), but none were very interesting (I posted one at The Easter Egg Archive ... http://www.eeggs.com/items/46177.html)

About that compass ... I could swear I saw Locke using a compass much later in the series than when he gave it to Sayid ... did Sayid give it back?

Can someone tell what it says on the crates that Kate moves in order to reach the vent cover? Every time I pause my VCR, it gets blurry and I can't read it. Almost looks like two words, the second word possibly saying "MAN"

.... anyone??

Very cool!!
That the numbers equal the longitude/latitude/location in the middle of the ocean!! Where there mysteriously is an island...that isn't on the map....

Good catch!

:rotfl2: Hey, maybe is is a really really tiny island they are on and you cannot SEE :goodvibes the land mass on the map............ :confused3 :goodvibes

Thought I'd post a heads up for West coast viewers. I saw that they were repeating the 2nd episode after Monday Night Football.

I think the computer has a self destruct program, so if Desmond (or whoever is "on duty" doesn't reset it within a certain amount of time (108 minutes I'm guessing) it assumes that something has happened to them and destroys all evidence of whatever it is that's going on there. That's my theory anyway...

ETA- About the fruit... Am I the only one who think it looked canned? It looked shriveled and coated in syrup to me...

It looked canned to me also. I believe there were some cherries in the room Kate went into.
