September 2025 Refurbs. Big Thunder Sept. 2.

Such a joke...

Plan refurb dates 12 months in advance. Not everyone can book trip weeks before they go to swap things around last minute.

2 top tier rides now closed during our mid sept visit.

I’m gutted about big thunder, we’ve got that and RC racers… we thought we’d be able to get our big thunder fix since it’s closed at Walt Disney world when we go in November but clearly not!

I do wish they announced refurbs in more advance, I get rides need maintenance and sometimes that can need to happen earlier than they think but the last minute announcements make it hard for us overseas to just reschedule!

Yup same here we planned 10 months ahead coming from Canada and now 2 main attractions are down.

Not everyone is able to plan a trip 3 weeks in advance and can pivot to other dates quickly.

Disney is dropping the ball for there 70th. All these refurbs should have been done in 2024 to have everything wide open for 70th celebrations...

Dumbo: September 16 to September 17. Reopens September 18.

I wonder if Disney thinks they can get the Big Thunder refurb done by the first of October so it's ready for the final month of Halloween and Christmas time? I think Incredicoaster's refurbishment is the guide of how long it might take since it's adding the same E-Stop system. It's unfortunate for anyone who planned a trip in September. I know some places have said it could be a longer refurbishment. Just seems weird to bring it down during the busiest time of the year.

I'm going late September and it's my first trip in 6 years. Big Thunder was closed the last time I went and tbh I'm fine with missing it again if only Radiator Springs Racers would reopen. My family and I are SO worried about that not being open for our trip I am happy to see Incredicoaster will be open though.

Big Thunder has plumbing and water fixes and other things according to the permits filed.

Sailing Ship Columbia: September 22 to September 25. Reopens September 26.

RSR still down on September 22. Most likely down for all September and early October.

I wonder if RSR will reopen within 4-5 weeks, sticking to the timeline that was announced in early June ("a little more than a month"). Several headliners at DLR this year were listed as closed indefinitely on the calendar, only to have the refurbishment period shortened after the fact, usually once the refurbishment had started (Incredicoaster, Matterhorn, etc.).

2 rides being down just seems to the standard these days. Not to mention the unplanned closures that seem to happen more frequently too.

Avatar and Avengers, if/when they happen, will help alleviate some of this (though they'll have massive downtime in their first 2 years I'm sure)

This will not happen with RSR. RSR usually goes down once a year or even less. When RSR is down, it is down until it comes back. Could it happen..sure. Will it happen unlikely.

I am so disappointed about BTMRR and RSR potentially being down when we are there. I am losing hope it will be up by October 2nd. For us it is fine because we'll be back in November but we are going with others who don't go all the time. First world problems I know!

Same. We're late September and Big Thunder and Test Track were down when we went to WDW in the spring. I know we'll be back, but it's not like we go all the time. I thought about changing our dates, but without end dates to the refurbishments that feels like a bit of a fool's errand. that at least one is magically done for our trip or that at least none of our other favorites are down.
