The weekends in the summer is a good time to either enter your car in a car show or to be a spectator in a car show. If you haven’t been to a car show, you should go just once. It’s amazing how many nice cars there are, and it’s very impressive how well they are taken care of and how they are displayed. Some shows are judged and some shows are just for fun. Many owners will display their trophies and ribbons for all to see. So, let’s drive forward into your answers today……

Have you ever been to car show?
Have you been as a car owner or spectator?
When was the last time you went to a car show?
(multiple choice)

For Me…….I’ve been to a lot of car shows both as an owner and a spectator. My DH has a show car, so I’ve been to car shows when he was showing the car, and then I’ve been to many cars shows with him as a spectator. In fact, I was just at a car show last Friday at our church’s festival. I was working the fest, so I was easily able to walk through the car show. They are always a lot of fun!

Our town holds one every year. Our sons used to put their Camaro in it until they sold it.

We have been to some car shows before... I used to live back in the day has every year on a certain street. Been to a couple others as well. It is always fun to see some of the fancy stuff people have. The vintage stuff is especially interesting. We have never had anything to enter into one, we have some friends who have an old Mustang that they take to shows sometimes.

I will admit... I DO things to annoy my husband. You will always see a normal car parked somewhere close. I will be like OMG is that a Kia Optima?!?!?!? What year is that!?!

I've only been to one, in St. Michaels, Maryland. The school our boys attended choose a few new incoming 9th graders to be junior judges and our youngest was on the panel.

We have what is considered a Historic Car by age, but it's not really that old and we don't show it or anything, nor do we have any interest in doing so. We have been to a number of boat shows though.

How cool ...I usually go to a couple a year and do some casual meetups with my Bronco. What does your husband show? We have a car show here that I usually go to every year -some AMAZING vehicles.... https://www.audrainconcours.com/2024-winners.

Been as spectator.
Been a long time.
Last was a Corvette show.
Had to leave as they were revving their engines.
Was upsetting to DS.
Haven't been since.
DH wants to go as Owner.
I have a collectible car.
I'm just not interested.

Been to a classic car exposition (?) near the Connecticut River Museum, once.
Attended the NYC Auto Show at the Javits Center, once.

Not interested enough to go back again🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm a self proclaimed car guy (maybe I should change my DIS name).

I used to attend and participate in far more shows in recent years, but that's becoming more of a thing of the past for me. While I do enjoy looking and talking about cars, most of the shows are just not for me. I've seen and heard far too many complaining and insults from participants that don't win a trophy that it's just turned me off to "shows". Cruise In and actual driving meets are more my thing now. No competition and no expectations, just hanging out and talking horsepower. I'll also do one or two fundraiser shows a year that help the veterans or local youth sports.

I've had sports cars over the years with my latest being this Corvette. I do hope to add an early to mid 50's restored (perhaps even a resto mod) pick up. No real preference on manufacturer although I do the lines/curves of the Dodge trucks. Some day...

I went a long time ago to take a look at one on a date. I'm expecting going as an owner will be in my future. DH has a Monte Carlo he and a friend want to start taking to shows so I'll be going once that starts.

If you consider Cars and Coffee a car show, then I take my 65 Mustang up almost every Sunday. We have up to 200 cars every Sunday at the shopping center a mile from my house.

We have al local weekly car show in the summer.
My parents go with my dad's car every week.
I've been but to me its like meh I don't need to go weekly lol.

We have a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible that my dad bought new the week before he met my mom.

It was even featured in a local calendar for the month he bought it and met my mom.

I've maybe been to one or two car shows in my lifetime, and usually because I happen to be somewhere at the same time one is on.

I like cars and certainly appreciate a nice car especially if I see one nearby, but the thought of going specifically to a car show doesn't really appeal. And I wouldn't go as a car owner as I dont think anybody would be interested in my electric Audi 😂

My husband has always been a ca guy. He bought a beat up 1967 corvette stingray convertible 427 (the number is important because "everything matched"). Took 4 years to restore. He didn't do the work. He found a guy in California who was about to retire but he really liked the car and wanted to work on it. His garage was on the road where James Dean crashed. Living in Monterey at the time, there is no lack of car shows. Cherry's Jubilee at Laguna Seca was a big draw as were many others. My husband started entering contests and won a lot. He was part of the Monterey Corvette Club. Also something called car week which lead up to the Concourse D'elegace at Pebble Beach. Jay Leno would always be there.

I’ve been to a few cars shows over the years. One of my Son In Law’s is a big car guy. He just bought a vintage VW bug. It looks just like Herbie! (w/o the big racing number lol)

VW!! :hippie: Mine is also a VW but a 1971 Karman Ghia. Dad bought brand new. Hard. We rarely drive and I need to let it go ~ but it's part of the family.

We have a local car show on Friday nights - a drive in/through type thing. With food trucks, music, etc. Fantastic time - we look forward to it every summer.

There is also quite a few classic car shows at the state fairgrounds each summer. Draws thousands of ppl from all over the place.

When I started dating my husband, St Paul used to have a car show/drag race each Friday (and maybe Saturday)? down a central street. Amazing time - some of my best memories.

I dated the cool guy in high school that drove the Karmann Ghia! Fun times!!! 😉

It became my car my senior year. People for sure noticed it when most drove sedans. And it is fire engine red with convertible top. :car:
