Disney Enthusiast- I was thinking the same thing about Sawyer, not necessarily that he wasn't shot, but that he would maybe wind up on the boat and save everyone or something along those lines.

I'm thinking he may have a superficial wound, but will end up being the bad boy hero that steps up to the plate and saves the boy. I just have this sneaky feeling that he may be a reluctant hero (like when he reluctantly read to the baby to quiet him), but he is a good guy/teddy bear deep down and he would be someone you'd want on your side when the going gets tough.

(I can't take credit for noticing these, read it on TWOP, but thought you guys might be interested).

When Hurley was running to catch the plane, it was gate 23 (one of the #'s)
He offered the scooter guy $1600 (16 was one of the #'s)
and the kids in sports uniform that he passed in the airport had on the #'s (in the order that we've come to know them - of course I can't remeber it off the top of my head LOL)

When Hurley was in the car that broke down there were 42 km on the odomoter and it showed it going 4 kph.......

Kate mentioned to Hurley that there was a 23000 dollar reward out for her...

I missed the sports uniforms...will have to go back and check it out on my tape........

If the Others have a motorized boat why are they still on the island? What benefits do they get by staying there? And as for the monter a friend and I were talking that perhaps it is some kind of machine. Danielle had called it a security system, and I think people are overlooking that and instantly wanting there to be a monster. However it is much more plausible that there is a system of levers and pullys and triggers connected to chains that run in the underground tunnels under the island (where Locke almost got pulled into) and perhaps at the bottom of the hatch is the central control or a way into the security tunnels.


I am wondering how the Others knew Walt was on the boat or how they knew about his powers. This still does not explain the pyschics warning to Claire about Aaron. Perhaps Danielle's baby also had a special gift?

I'm not really sure how to put this or really what to ask if anything... Last night was the first night ive ever seen Lost except for maybe one episode at the very beginging I usually have play rehearsal on Wed nights... And I have to say because of all the stuff that I couldnt figure out im hooked... With out having to read the 2 thousand posts on this thread is there something that I should have known going into the show last night that maybe would clear up some of my questions...

omg - have you EVER seen a look of fear on John Locke's face before last night? that scene blew me away.

and WHAT IS UP with the weird black mist/smoke/whatever?

I, for one, really enjoyed this season finale. That scene when Sawyer was shot (NOOOO!!!)...from the time the light turned on them until they took Walt away - AMAZING scene...was on the edge of my couch saying "NO NO NO NONO!!!!!" I must have re-watched it 4 times.

Poor Leslie...didn't see that coming...
(heheh - sorry "I think Leslie's a b*tchin' name"...still my FAVORITE line of the season)

I don't think i'd equate the cliffhanger to "who shot JR" proportions...but it was DAMN good!

I laughed...I cried...I screamed...2 thumbs up.

I must say that Josh (Sawyer) was looking very hot last night and I totally "lost" it when he was shot. I think my screams were heard 3 blocks away and I can't tell you anything that happened after that. I am so scared for him.....

On the brighter side... I leave for the Poly in 3 hours!!!!

If Michael, Jin and Sawyer survive, how in the world are they going to get to land? The last I remember them saying they were about 15 miles out to sea and the pirates blew up the raft.

The Others did remind me of pirates. For a minute when they first appeared I felt like I was watching "Pirates of the Caribbean". I bet they live down under the island, which is where the hatch leads to.

Sandy, I agree with you...Sawyer looked hot last night with his hair pulled back.

Hi,as for the monster, I read a book once and it's "monster" was a hive of microscopic robots, called nanites, that scientists had created . Well, the hive of nanites starting rebelling against the scientists...they looked like a black could and could shape shift into anything. In the book the nanites acted as a security force protecting the scientist compound and doing tasks but then turned on their creators and literally survived in the host bodies of some of the scientists, making them just... not quite right. I forgot the name of the book but maybe the lost creators read it too.

The monster just HAS to be mechanical after last night! If it's not, the sound guy has bad judgment because all of those sounds were mechanical!!

I don't think Sawyer will end up on the boat with the others. That boast seemed a bit small for him to be abel to get on it without the others knowing.

Never thought about the possibility of different climaes on the island. That's a good idea!

That black smoke...still no idea what that was! VERY strange!!

my DH's friend has this theory and I think it is a GOOD theory!! The island is purgatory and they are all dead. The monster/black smoke is the devil. And the baby and Walt are being saved because they are children.

As for the numbers, we haven't figured out the significance of them yet.

I had heard the purgatory theory before...however, we know Walt is "different"...and Aaron (aka - Turnip Head/Claire's baby) was foretold to be evil (by the psyhic)

I believe the producers have already said that they are not in purgatory.

Thanks that was helpful to fill in stuff however I do have a few questions that I dont know if they answered on the show yet...

What is the signifigance of the baby's name? Why is it such a big deal that she didnt name the baby till now is it really that she was just going to give it up for adoption or is it something more then that?

Have they ever explored the whole island?

Yes, I watched it. Claire and Charlie were talking about Rousseau as Rousseau was eating a raw egg and sitting on the beach looking out at the ocean. Charlie said that Rousseau was a nut job and that she tried to kill him out in the jungle. Claire said something like, "I knew after Ethan had kidnapped me that they would be back for the baby." And Charlie asked, "Is that why you haven't given him a name yet? You thought he'd be taken from you." And then she snuggled the baby.

It didn't seem too enthralling so I don't think you missed much. And I don't know why you wouldn't name your baby if you thought the others would try and take him. But that is what happened in the scene essentially I think.

Funny...that part was so glazed over last night...that Claire had given Dainelle (french chick) the scratches on her arm....so Ethan was working WITH Danielle? (becuase HE took Claire)
