LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

I missed the first half hour - but I am assuming that Boone and Shannon are stepbrother and sister, correct?

So - what is wrong with them hooking up? How old were they when their parents married? They are not related by blood, I see nothing wrong with the situation.

I wonder about the compass too. When Sayid said "don't you need it" and Locke said "not anymore", I wondered if Locke meant he had "found his way".
Am I even making sense?????

Yep, that's what I thought about Locke when he said he didn't need it anymore. I hope he's good too. I really like his character. The only thing that makes me worry about him is how so many people trust him implicitely (sp?). Early in the episode Kate said something about him, then when Charlie said if there was anyone he completely trusted on the island, it'd be Locke. Jack doesn't trust him 100% though. Awe heck, I have no idea what in the hell is going on....LOL!

Yep, they are step-siblings. I think they said he was 10 & she was 8 when they became siblings. It's still creepy if you ask me.

I don't know... This one is getting pretty weird. I need a recap of the first 20 minutes as well.

Did anyone notice that Shannon and the pilot were not eaten? They seemed to have "potmarks" taken out of them. Seems a little odd to me.

I haven't been this hooked since I can't remember. What a great show!

First 20 minutes...let's see...Shannon called Boone from Sydney saying she needed help, so he goes to get her. When he arrives we find out that her boyfriend is abusing her. Boone goes to the police station to file a report and they won't do anything. While he's there we see Sawyer in the background being brought in in handcuffs. Next day Boone pays the boyfriend $50000, only to find out that Shannon is in on it since he's done this before (paid off boyfriends). I think you must have seen the scene in the hotel room right.

Kate finds out the the Korean lady speaks English, but she promises not to tell.

Boone and Locke are still trying to figure out how to open the hatch, with no luck.

Hurley is having "digestive" problems and tries to catch his own fish. With the Korean guy's help. He steps on an urchin and tells Korean guy to pee on his foot. LOL!!! Korean guy give him something to drink to help.

I think that should get you caught up,

I thought it was strange that Boone hallucinated what he did, since he hasn't seen the "creature" before. And it did the same thing to Shannon as it did to the pilot, but Boone doesn't know about the pilot. Could this be a plot hole?

HELP!!!!! The end got cut off. I got up to the point where Boone found out that he hallucinated and was talking to Locke about it. What did they say? And what's happening next week? I'm so sick of these shows running over their time slots. TIVO stops taping at 8:01 and it still got cut off. Grrrr...../QUOTE]

Make sure you go into your Season Pass on Tivo and click on options. Then set Lost to end 5 minutes late and it will catch the whole thing that way. I always set all my season passes to record a few minutes late and start 1 minute early because the networks screw with the times so much.

I know, you're right. They didn't put that in there for no reason. Plus when Locke and Boone were walking to the hatch early in the episode (after Boone told Sayid to stay away from Shannon) Locke told Boone to be nice to Sayid because they would want him on their side. Don't know what that means, but it could go back to Locke trying to convert people to the evil or dark side.

so many theories, so little time !!! I wish this show was 2 hours instead of one !!!!

When Hurley said to Jin "you know, a lot of people think you really speak English", I wonder if that was the producers saying to the viewers "we know we've got you guessing." :teeth: But then when he said to Jin "Your wife's hot" it almost looked like Jin looked up. Did he look up just because Hurley said something or because maybe he does speak English? Man, wouldn't that be a kick in the pants if Jin and Sun both spoke English but neither knew the other did?!?!?!

I'm really wondering about Locke now. The producers have said everything's there for a reason; I've wondered if there's some clue behind the character's names. John Locke was a British philosopher who influenced the American founding fathers and also popularized the theory of the tabula rasa, that we are all blank slates waiting to be written upon.

Jack's last name is Shepard -- leading the flock?

What were Boone and Shannon's last names? I know they said last night but I forgot.

After last nite I am beginning to wonder what planet these people are from
Really weird stuff.....kept me on the edge...........

In the police station scene....I wonder what Sawyer was brought in for???

any ideas...........

GREAT episode last night!
I had read some stuff about the Shannon/Boone episode being "racey" and not suitable for younger viewers...I didn't think it was over the top for the 8pm time slot. But that's JMO.

That whole "mind mess" with Boone was AWESOME! I absolutly love how this show just keeps you guessing.

Hands down...I'll be buying this series on DVD when/if it comes out...

I also get the impression that Locke is there as a spiritual leader. I said to Matthew last night that it is almost like Locke is God and he is helping them through their mortal issues so they can pass on. Like they died in the plane crash but since their "souls" are so troubled they aren't ready to pass on yet.

So far Locke has helped Charlie overcome his addiction to Heroin and now he is helping Boone overcome his issues with Shannon.

The monster on the island can be the demons you are overcoming in your mind.

When Rose says her husband is "still alive" maybe she is talking about his soul is alive on the "the other side"

Maybe the series will be over when Locke has helped the last of the "survivors" come to peace with what has been haunting them. Could that be how the "hatch" opens up and they can all pass through?

Whoa.. deep stuff! ;)

Good thought. I still think they are in pergortory(spelling?).
I enjoyed last night episode.

I think it was probably more the subject matter, than the raciness of the scene itself. The scene was fairly tame by todays standards.

So did Jin pee on his foot, or did whatever he gave him do the trick? It was sweet when he brought him a cleaned fish. Looks like maybe Jin will turn out to be a good husband after all.

I'm not even gonna talk about Locke, because there are way too many theories, and he is just too confusing! We need more Charlie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent theory! That makes total sense!

Does anyone know when the season finale will be? I didn't know if they could wrap things up in one season or not. I really hope they don't drag it out too long because shows tend to get less interesting and more and more obsurd. I would rather see them wrap this up in two seasons then have another plane crash or shipwreck. Of course I really like this cast!

I don't know when the season finale will be, but I think you can count on it ending with a big cliffhanger. Every season of "Alias", J.J. Abrams other show has ended that way.

I agree...I was thinking the same thing....and how when people 'died' like the pilot, and Shannon in Boones dream, they didnt take the body....maybe just taking their soul??

The compass thing is weird too....I don't think its just broken, it has to do with where they are I think.

for some reason, this reminds me of the Stephen King short story - The Langoliers. (was made into a very bad TV movie)
