For some reason my DVR didn't record last night!!! I checked it before I went to work, came home, made dinner, sat down to watch and it wasn't there. I am SO MAD.

for some reason, this reminds me of the Stephen King short story - The Langoliers. (was made into a very bad TV movie)

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

That was about the last Stephen King book I read, years ago, and yes, this series has reminded me of it (a bit) since the start.

Obviously, Locke is the key to this whole thing. His little cryptic comments ("We'll want him (Sayid) on our side" and his answer of "They're not ready yet" when Boone wanted to tell the rest what they'd found...the "Is that what it made you see" question at the end)....those comments seem to indicate that he knows what's going on on the island. Now, there's two ways they could take this:

1 - Locke really is the guy Charlie and most everyone seems to think he is, and he is, in effect, organizing a resistance to whatever it is that is on the island.

or

2 - Locke has become one of the pod people...lol...Ever since his encounter with "The Beast", he's been strange...well, stranger than he was before, I mean. He just doesn't seem like he considers himself one of the group anymore. It's like he's got that same kind of detachment that the guy who kidnapped the pregnant chick.

Or, we could all be nuts and they could go in a completely different direction. :teeth:

What were Boone and Shannon's last names? I know they said last night but I forgot.

Boone's is Carlyle. Shannon's - I'm not completely positive - but I think is Rutherford.

So is the pilot, that supposedly was killed by the monster early on, really dead? Or is he still alive and they just thought he died?

I was thinking the same thing. Although, I do think he's dead, only because three of them saw him die and he hasn't turned up since, but with this show, who knows.

The purgatory theory is interesting, but would a child and dog be in purgatory? I guess it could turn out that Walt and the dog were never really there.
All I know is that I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure this show out. I just hope we're not all let down when we finally find out. Sometimes when a show has such a big build up, it's hard to have an ending to match.

I read on Eonline that the guy who plays the pilot (Greg somebody I think--Castlegazer, HELP) said he will be back. The question is, will it be only in flashbacks?

One of the writers said in an article that even though you (the viewer) think you have figured out who is good and evil, don't expect everyone to stay in those categories.

Sounds like pro wrestling.

So did Jin pee on his foot, or did whatever he gave him do the trick? It was sweet when he brought him a cleaned fish. Looks like maybe Jin will turn out to be a good husband after all.

I don't know if any of you are Survivor fans, but I couldn't help thinking about the time Kathy peed on John's foot when he suffered the same injury.

It seems like I have read somewhere that they are definitely not in purgatory. It may have been speculation, though, and not an actual confirmation from a writer. One of the cast members commented on this but I can't remember where I read it :(
I know this theory has been around since the beginning of the show and so many viewers have said they will be so mad/disappointed in the show if it goes in that direction. They think it's too easy. Hopefully if that was the initial direction the writers were going to take, they'll rethink it and come up with something more clever.
I also hope it's a little more out there than purgatory. I think a large amount of the appeal of this show is that it is able to shock/stun/surprise the viewer without being too over the top. It's hard to do that these days on TV when so much depends on shock value. The only other show doing this really successfully (that I can think of) is the Sopranos. I'm so darn invested in this show right now, I want to be totally shocked at the end!
I will also be beating people down to grab the DVD's when they come out!!

Here ya go DHB - Greg Grunberg - JJ Abrams friend - the pilot.

Happened on Friends, too. Was it Joey or Chandler that peed on Monica?
LOL-Maybe that's where Hurley saw it!

A little off topic, but have any of you noticed that while Boone, Sawyer and Jack have been getting "scruffier" Locke has not gained any facial hair (nor has the hair on his head gotten any longer)?

I want to know did anyone else just about jump out of their seats when the monster pulled up that tree (or whatever he did) when he first appeared after Boone found Shannon and untied her? It's been a long time since I've jumped like that while watching a tv show. :earseek:

LOL, that was what I said last night, Just like Friends!! It was not Chandler, it was either Joey, or she had to do it on herself, I forget.

good point. One thing too, Shannon has nail polish and makeup, but no one on that plane or no suitcase contained a razor they could share????

Anyone know of a site I can get an episode recap or transcript?

Chandler tried, but couldn't, so Joey "stepped up" :)

Sorry...Friends addict, here...lol

My DH noticed that, too. Locke has had no hair growth. Maybe he uses one of his 400 knives to stay clean shaven. I think Kate made reference to them being on the island for three weeks now. I am trying to picture Sawyer and Jack with the Tom Hank's look in Castaway!
