Did anyone else catch the number 44 on Jack's fiance's shirt as she walked away from him to go upstairs to the hotel? I thought that jumped right out!

Sorry to see a good looking man go, but I'm happy we still have Jack and Sawyer, Jin and Sayid. Yum!

was that one of the "numbers?"

I cannot WAIT for this show to come out on DVD...I will spend an entire weekend watchign them all!!

oogie - thank you again for the picture! I actually copied it to my own picture hosting site.

Maybe when it comes out on DVD we can watch each episode and discuss them. That way we can all go back and see if we missed anything along the way. Maybe we can figure a few more things out.

Do you think that Boone might have made it if Locke had not carried him back but had gone for help? I wondered about the number on her shirt too, I mean it was so BIG. I don't think they are going to kill off anyone else, they don't really want to piss us off anymore do they? :confused3

ok - her shirt was 44
Boone's shirt LAST episode was 48 (in chinese numbers)

um...is this the "pecking order"?
how many survivors were there?
how many have died so far? 3?
could boone have been #48?
could jack be #44? Or was his fiance #44 and she's already dead?

confused yet?

Poor Boone (Ian)! :( I saw the Good Morning America interview this morning and he still seems quite upset about being let go. I feel bad now. Even if it is cheesy (like the Bobby Ewing return on Dallas), I hope Boone comes back to life somehow.

Julie Bowen I think was the fiance?

Oogie - thanks for the pic! I love it!

and yes..something is definetly OFF with last nights episode...it was too "neat"...everything tied out almost...not what we are used to
I'm glad someone said this before me because I feel like I'm becoming paranoid. Like I posted on the other thread, if that was the big death it was really lame. I was more shocked and surprised with the fake deaths of Charlie and Shannon.

I honestly think there is something more in store than just that death. I just can't believe that's what the writers came up with and what was getting all of the cast and spoiler people all excited. I'm not saying there will be another death, just *hoping for* an exciting twist to go along with Boone's death.

As far as Locke getting shot, those of you who taped it or have Tivo, please check this out (in the previews) if you have time.
If you look at Sayid and Locke when Sayid puts the gun to his neck, Locke's shirt looks light brown. In the final scene where there is the sound of a gunshot and smoke with Locke falling backwards, his shirt is much darker. Some people on other boards have suggested that he has a different shirt on but I think it's raining and his shirt looks darker because it's wet. Anyone else have an opinion on that after viewing it?

I think the "ultimate" betrayal is that Locke KNEW that Boone would be killed and he sent him to the plane anyway.

In his dream he saw and injured Boone. The "Theresa" stuff was a secret about Boone (so he would buy into the dream) and Theresa was also killed.

I think Locke hoped Boone would be ok but deep down knew he would die.

And then I kept reading that the writers were so great because they had such balls and they were going to kill off a main character and it was going to be this huge deal. Sorry, but I don't think Boone was anybody's favorite character. He wasn't really even in the show all that much.

Just wanted to step in and give my vote for Boone as my favorite. I, for one, really didn't want him off. He had some funny-sarcastic-tickedoff lines, and, let's face it, beautiful eyes. Superficial reasons? Maybe. But no moreso than those who swoon for Sawyer. :lovestruc

But here's my question: does anyone recall Locke's conversation with Charlie when he told him the island would give him what he wanted, but he'd have to give IT something too? I know you do.

So here's my discussion - there's plenty of speculation as to what Locke's "sacrifice" or "betrayal" or whatever you want to call it means and how it fits in with Boone's death.

But what about Shannon? Not to say she caused his injuries (obviously), but I wondered if she had any affect on the outcome. When speaking to Sayid, she said something like, "we're both here until God knows when, and so is Boone."

I knew at that point he definitely wasn't going to make it, but I wonder....is she secretly wishing Boone wasn't in the picture?

I agree :)

Agree with the no surprise, wonder if they do in fact have another death planned? I doubt it though. But even with Boone, it was sealed in like the first 5 minutes of the episode. Look at him, and then the collapsed lung. No way was he going to survive that where they are. Then the blood transfusion thing. Plus we knew we couldn't hold out for an island intervention, because the island wanted him dead in the first place.

As for Locke, I'm not sure he realized that he was sending Boone to his death. The island took his legs to insure that he wouldn't climb up himself. I don't think it actually dawned on him what was happening until the plane started to move. He started yelling for Boone to get out. Why yell if Boone was exactly where Locke wanted him to be? Why carry him back to camp? I really don't like the fact that Jack just assumes that Locke murdered Boone. Technically he didn't, and like I said, I don't believe he knew exactly what was going to happen until it was too late.

So do you guys think that the radio transmission that Boone heard was "real?" Or do you think the island made him hear it so that he would not get out of the plane even though Locke was yelling for him?

Okay, so Boone was one person's favorite character. :teeth:
No doubt, Ian Somerhalder is attractive (did you see him in Rules of Attraction? yum). But as a character, he just didn't do it for me. In love with his stepsister, always trying to save her, constantly letting himself be used.

But word on the street is that they killed him off the show because he was getting too whiny about not having enough screen time.

Boone is totally hot, I just didn't feel his character. He had some expressions where he just looked creepy aka serial killer! One was when he was looking at Sayid with Shannon *shudder*. I think they could have done some very interesting things with his character but chose not to. JJ Abrams said they knew from the beginning they would have to kill survivors off - I think THEY sacrificed Boone/Ian.

I had forgotten about the comment Locke made to Charlie about giving the island something back. Good catch! I guess it's true that every prop, every thing happens for a reason. Sometimes it just happens so far in advance that a lot of us forget about it-LOL!

I also think you make a good point about Shannon. She want(ed) her freedom from Boone until she needed him to bail her out of trouble. She used him over and took from him. Now she has Sayid to take care of her and she probably was wishing Boone was out of the picture. Again, everything seems to happen for a reason so I would speculate there was a good reason she chose to tell Sayid about Boone loving her at the moment he was dying.

I posted this right after Locke's episode, and I still believe it to be true. I don't believe the transmission was real, and I do believe it was there to keep him from either hearing Locke or to distract him so he wouldn't get out of the plane. Also, after someone on another board suggested that the voice on the other end of the transmission sounded like Boone I went back and rewatched it. It does sound a lot like Boone. I think it all happened to ensure the death.

I think he is still wearing the same blood-soaked shirt.
but it did look like it was raining.

I'll be re-watching the episode tonight with DH (who hasn't watched it yet...even though I already told him what happened. heheh)

LoL - He'll continue to be my favorite character, too. :lovestruc I'd book a first class ticket to that crazy island if I got to share a cave with him. Besides, I'm way too lazy to fight all the ladies for "Foxy" (as Ian called Dr. Jack this morning) or Sawyer!

Honestly, I loved the fact that he was constantly being wrustled up - it made me laugh that he'd get bloody in practically every episode. He was the final side in my nerd-dork-wuss love triangle. (It's the three-sides of my three crushes - I never seem to fall for the "buffed up bad boy hero" lol :moped: ) And the best part? "Boone" totally knew it! Like, he'd get in the middle of someone else's fight, and they'd like...use two pinky fingers to push him down. :rotfl:

*sigh* I love him.

I'm not sure what street you're living on, but I think you may have made a mistake - that was me getting too whiny about him not having enough screen time!! :p
