I just finished watching it (taped it last night). I agree that it's not really a 7:00 time-slot show. I did really like it though. I don't think the creature is a dinosaur either, too obvious. I liked the giant ape idea someone posted. If the dog is one of the passenger's, why is it just hanging out in the jungle? Wouldn't it be looking for people, either staying by the cockpit section or out on the beach? Weird. Can't wait for next week though!

The pilot is a childhood friend of JJ Abrams, he has appeared in everything he has made, and he is a major character in Alias - thus we knew he had to croak right away.

LOVED IT _ and might I add, dman you to whoever gave the spoiler link, I just couldn't resist.

Sure am glad to find this thread! I tuned in because the show is produced by J.J. Abrams who also produces one of my favorites, "Alias." If I'm not mistaken, Abrams brought two former players from "Alias" over to the "Lost" set.....the pilot who played Weiss, Vaughn's FBI partner, and the guy with the orange, who played the CIA director. (Not so sure about that one since orange guy never spoke.)

Little Mermaid....I know what you mean about Smallville. I've been hooked on that show since day 1. It's on at the same time as "Lost" so I watched "Lost" and taped Smallville. Started watching Smallville today, but haven't finished it yet.

I'm not at all disappointed in "Lost." I'll be tuning in again next week (and setting the VCR for Smallville.)

I heard today that this show is similar to the Lord Of The Flies.

the dog was strange and looked out of sorts there - especially if he had been there but not eaten by the creature? he was watching people like cool, I have friends to play with!! So we have to find more about that.

The show was good - I even blew of That 70's show (my favorite) to watch it. Time to get Tivo!!!! I can't wait to watch it next week. And all the repeats.

I'm a bit late to this, but... Dominic Monaghan said something in an interview (it's on the Lost site posted previously) about his character that pretty much explains why he might have been in the bathroom. If you want to know, go to the site and read the Sept 21 News and Updates.

I LOVE It! I am so hooked. I don't care how improbable it all is LOL.

I don't think they were saying it's a baby bear, just that it's much smaller than whatever killed the pilot.

They could spend the entire season giving us everyones backstory. So far we know almost nothing, and I'm dying to know!!!!

They're replaying the entire 2 hour episode on Saturday.


This show is going to aggravate just like 24. It takes too long to get any resolution. Very surprised about the "criminal" and also intrigued by the reaction of the US Marshall about the criminal's whereabouts. I guess this person is really dangerous?

i think they must be on some 'bermuda triangle' island where things that come into the area are forever lost there. The polar bear is only one of the strange creatures I think we'll see. I do think the major animal is a dinosaur. I really like how they are showing us what happened before the accident. I wonder how far back some of the flashbacks will go. So far this is the only new show I'm watching so now I have 3 shows. woo hoo.

This show just flies by for me. I love how much time they're taking for character development.

I'm so hooked on this show already! The episode tonight was really good. I hope the Japanese woman gets rid of her husband soon, what a jerk!
I was totally surprised by who the prisoner was too, although I'm thinking there's got to be more to it than that. Wonder if the air marshall is going to survive.
The bear thing freaked me out! I really don't think that the "thing" is a bear though. Too obvious.
As far as the 16 year transmission, I think it's either a Bermuda Triangle thing, no one rescued them because no one gets the signal or else or any rescue party gets killed before they can rescue anyone.
Can't wait for next week!!

Alright..I have to admit. I was only watching this cuz Dominic Monaghan (LOTR) was in it. *mm...Dommy love...*

Can't wait to see his new movie "The Purifiers."

I really like LOST. At the minimum, it's something different than most of the crap on TV. Lost, Dead Like Me and Rescue Me are about the only show I can't miss.

Definately reminds me of King's "The Langoliers."

I guessed I missed this thread last week. I LOVE Lost! I agree with Planogirl, it's great the way they are taking so much time for character development. I think there are 14 series regulars, so there is a lot of back story that we will get to learn while we are watching how they "survive" the island/creature.

Looking forward to next week!!

OMG I'm hooked too !!! I think the "polar bear" was part of some experiment gone wrong or something...maybe some scientists were testing something on the island until they got eaten by their "experiments"....LOL
