LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

Dang! How'd I miss this thread? I just started one about "Lost"!

glad to hear I didn't miss much at beginning. Came in while credits were running and first thing I saw was the pregnant lady being whisked away while the plane's wing was falling.

I agree with an earlier poster the creature's sound is too mechanical, but my first thought was Jurassic Park. My DD12 loved it too, but said it will probably get old being on an island, how long can that last? DH just said "Gilligan's Island" LOL

Have high hopes for this show. Now just waiting for "Desperate Housewives".

I loved this show - a friend told me about it so I decided to watch it. I am so curious to see what this "monster" is. When the pilot was attacked, I was getting pretty freaked out at that moment. So interested in seeing how this series will pan out - can't wait until the next episode!

Yay, glad to see a thread for this show. :) I missed the first half hour, but it sounds like I didn't miss anything important to be able to follow it. The "monster" thing seems a bit cheesy, but I'm hoping it turns out to be something that will surprise me. I love how mysterious it is... :magnify:

There is an awesome unofficial site for this show at www.lost-tv.com. If you are interested in spoilers or other info on this show, this is the site to go to. The spoilers link seems to be down now, but go to the discussion board on the site and the spoilers threads. Lots and lots of info to chew on while waiting for next week, and further weeks. For example, those hand-cuffs we saw in the preview for next week....come to find out something very very interesting and unexpected about them!!!

Am I the only one who thought that it was sort of lame? Maybe it will get better. But, the trouble with this type of show is you know ahead of time what things will not work - for example the radio. They can't succeed with a signal fire or the radio, because then the series would be over, because they would be rescued. I believe that the handcuffs were probably on one of the passengers which was being taken on the plane by a police officer of some sort. Yes, I believe the dog belongs to one of the passengers - probably the child.

I don’t think it is a creature at all. I think it is some kind of man-made weapon or machine. I say that the island is inhabited by a group of Japanese soldiers from WWII. They somehow landed up on this island during the war..and they think the war is still on.

In their spare time they built a huge killing machine. If you recall there were “metal” sounds when the “creature” was moving around. The pilot was not eaten he was just cut up. Come on… any good creature would have eaten the guy or at the very least sucked the blood out of his body.

Bonzi!!!

(great show…)

Care to guess who? ;) Unless I read the spoilers I never would have guessed!

 I watched. It was predictable, but fun to watch. My guess is the Japanese family knows whats going on somehow. Obviously, the wife will come around eventually and help the others. Still fun to watch! I like the idea of a time-warp thing because the whole, "Well, we lost our radio and decided to head toward Fiji instead so, wouldn't you know it (!), we are 1000 miles off course and nobody will find us." :p :p

Can I ask that you not give us that much info here? If people want to go read the spoilers on that other site they can??? I like to discuss after the fact, but I like to be surprised when I watch.

I thought the show was really good. A bit gory for 8:00, though.
DH thought it was a dinosaur, too.

I liked it, kept me watching.;) I thought the "creature" was a Dinosaur too, but, its not? Hmmm.....there goes my theory. As far as the Japanese Couple, I thought maybe they didn't trust the other passengers, that is why they are not friendly. Or, they made the plane crash? Whats with the guy that just sits? I wonder what his story is....:o Why did they make a big thing out of LOTR guy coming out of the bathroom?

Didn't anyone else think the 'creature' was mechanical sounding? Don't think anything natural would sound like that.....even a dinasour!

Yes! I didn't know there was supposed to be a creature when I first started watching it. I actually thought that noise was the cockpit falling down the hill or something. I thought it was going to come rolling onto the beach and everyone would have to get out of the way. I really like the whole concept of the show except for this "creature".

Whats up with the guy with the orange in his mouth?:scratchin

Yeah, that was very freaky! It was very reminiscent of that show "Twin Peaks." Anyone remember that crazy show from the late 80's?

DH and I also watched this. The first time they showed "something" moving in the forest, DS sat down to watch it also. He's hoping it's a dinosaur, he is obessed with them. Wants to be a palentoligist {SP?} LOL!!!

For some reason I was thinking it was a movie, didn't realize it was going to be on week after week. LOL!!! If they do move this show I sure hope they don't move it to 10, that's when Smallville is on and it just premired last night. I need my Clark Kent fix. LOL!!!

But this show reminded me alot of Arthur Conan Doyle The Lost World , when it was on tv. Of course that show didn't have that many people, but it seems similar.

I thought he was just using the bathroom, since they don't have one on the beach. I thought it was kinda stupid for her to ask what he was doing in there. Anyone else think this???

I taped this and watched this morning.
I though it was very suspenseful, and there were a lot of character things going on....(the japanese couple, the guy with the orange)......along with just showing the way people grieve.

I think there is something going on besides a 'creature" also.

Also.......does anyone else think the plane crash was NOT an accident.......

they made a big deal of showing the Dr. on the plane and the guy that ran ahead of him to the bathroom with the airline attendent chasing after him...........did someone cause the plane crash? I think it will probably take the entire season to find out what really happened to the plane....:D

Hopefully by all these responses a lot of people must've watched the first episode and maybe it'll last a year. I was intrigued and will watch it next Wednesday.

That's what I thought too...that there wasn't more to it than what it was. He was just going potty on an actual toilet! lol

I don't think it was an accident either, but I have no idea yet what caused it.

I expected the "creature" to appear in some form at the cockpit window when the girl was trying to look out.

That pilot was mobile very quickly, too, after being knocked out for 16 hours. I don't think it is a subplot...... just a TV thing. These people can survive anything these days and still live.

It will certainly make me sit in front of the TV next week!
