lost child tattoos question

I think the idea of the temporary tattoos that have your cell phone number on them in case your child gets lost is a great one. While looking on these boards, I've seen safetytat and tottoo mentioned. I'm trying to decide between the two. I like the look of the safetytat ones better, but I wanted to hear some opinions of the two different companies before I decided. Can you tell me what you did or didn't like about each of these types of tattoos?

We ordered from totoos and really liked them. I liked that they were blended in well and were not hugely obvious in all of the photos. I also like that they were medical grade and did not leave a rash. They were easy to put on and take off. Hope that helps!

I went to the local pet store (may be available at wal-mart) and made an ID tag with child's name and 2 cell phone numbers. I then safety pinned to my neices shoe. She is 4 and knew that if she got seperated from our group, she was to go to a mom w/kids or CM and show them her tag and they would find us. Didn't have to use (thank goodness), several CM's thought it was a very good idea. Hope this helps!

I'm glad I found this thread. I needed an idea like that. DD can remember my name, DH's name and our address but for some reason can not remember mine or DH's cell phone numbers. I will definitely be getting her one before we go.

I like the idea of the dog tags though. Even if I couldn't pin them to their shoes I could put them on a necklace or something.

We had thought of bracelets before...but I ended up just writing my cellphone numbers on my DDs arms... simple but smart
But..I like the idea of the tatoos because someone couldnt' just remove them like they could a bracelet or dogtage...

I totally agree, I liked that they were not so bold and bright like the others. We ordered these last Monday, how long did it take for you to receive yours in the mail??

I totally agree, I liked that they were not so bold and bright like the others. We ordered these last Monday, how long did it take for you to receive yours in the mail??

I honestly do not remember how long it took us to get them. But I do know it was not that long. We had them well before our trip and didn't order them that far in advance. I hope yours come soon!

We used Tottoos last year and we didn't like them. They were quick in shipping, but they came off too easily when something rubbed up against them. Once the corner came up, it was just minutes before the kids got to picking at them LOL They were hard to remove, even with the enclosed 'wipes' too.

Our tattoos stayed on for a couple of days. With swimming and all. I guess it just varies with each child. We put the tatoos on the back of her ankle so DD did not pay any attention to it at all. We did have a to scrub a little to take them off, but not much considering they were meant to stay on. Hopefully some of you that ordered them will have good luck too.

I just ordered the SafetyTats - I didn't know about the other one - thought it was a great idea - my girls love tattoos & this way they have my cell # on them.

Our toddler (21 mos at the time) wouldn't hold still, so we waited until he was asleep, then applied it. It was legible for 3 days, then I put one on his other arm for the last half of the week.

Since then we have used them at various fairs and festivals as well.

Make sure too, that your kids don't pick at them. We used them the first day we were there and then gave up. Both our boys picked at them non stop all day until they were worn off. Luckily we didn't loose anyone! Because after day one, we didn't even bother.

It's a velcro type of wristband (or ankle band) with a pocket inside that holds waterproof tags. They are not inconspicuous with bright pink or blue colors, but they will be easily seen by any CM's who find children.

You get a supply of tags to insert so we were able to write our hotel name on them as well as phone numbers and we'll be able to fill out a new tag any time our location or contact info changes. Also, the information is kept inside a pocket on the band and is not visible to anyone unless it needs to be.

We'll be taking them back to WDW again with us this October.
