Make sure too, that your kids don't pick at them. We used them the first day we were there and then gave up. Both our boys picked at them non stop all day until they were worn off. Luckily we didn't loose anyone! Because after day one, we didn't even bother.

Oh yes, certainly the choice is also highly dependent on the kid. My DS for example will break, take off, or constantly pull at any sort of jewelry or shoe attachment but loves "tattoos" (currently he will grow out of it eventually I am sure). Other kids are happy to wear a cool bracelet or dogtags.
