How do you attach your Lost Child Cards? Around the neck with a very long piece of yarn under their shirts? Taped under the shirt (I'm afraid this might bug my boys.) Pockets? (Mine would lose them for sure!)

Okay, experts, give me your tips -- please!

Either tied to a belt loop or laced into the shoes.

okay, I was wondering the same thing. now, what information are you putting on the cards? I was thinking childs name, parents names and cell #s. Anything else?

We aren't going to use lost child cards. Instead, we are ordering temporary tattoos from http://www.safetytat.com/. You place the tattoos on the skin and write whatever you want on it with a special marker.

We just ordered a total of 4 (2 for each kiddo) of the bracelets that slip over the wrist, like the "Live Strong" bracelets from a few years ago. The ones I got are 2 colors, so the writing stands out, and they even had a Disney font that looks like WDW writing! I got 4 bracelets that each read "If I'm lost, #'s on back" on the outside, then the reverse side (hidden against their skin) has their dad's and my cell phone numbers-including area codes. My kids will be 6 and nearly 9 when we go, but in a scary/stressful situation, I'd rather know they've got a helping hand.

The site I ordered for is sending 4 bracelets, purchased using paypal, shipping and tax total for like 26 bucks. I ordered from 24hourwristbands.com

We lace through the shoes. We have also used lanyard and ID badges. I love the idea of the temporary tattoo.

That's exactly what we put on ours. I did laminate them and punch two holes near the corners and used a soft but strong yarn to create a lanyard to wear under their shirts.

They said they tickled but felt nice b/c they were so soft. The reason for the two holes is to keep them flat and avoid twisting.

I love the tattoo idea and will keep it in mind for the future.

My kids wear a "dog tag" on a chain. They keep it tucked in the front of their shirt. We just got them from a machine in the front of Wal-Mart. They have them with designs on one side -- like Superman or LSU. I just put their name and our cell phone numbers on the tag.

We used the ID shoe tag on this site - in fact I think I saw the post here on the Dis a couple years a go. DD5 loves hers and think it looks cool, we clip it on her belt loop if she has one or shoe. It has her 1st name and mom's cell, dad's cell and nonna's cell. I have had her wear it to the zoo or museum too - she worries about getting separated and it makes her feel more secure.

She actaully got "lost" at the DTD toy store. She told the CM she couldn't find Mommy and told he rmy name and what I was wearing. I was right there and actually saw her talk to the CM and then went over so the lost was about 3 seconds. The CM was really sweet and told her she was so proud that she knew what to do and gave her a pin.

Any ideas for a 14 month old - not that she should be out of our sight at all but if she is walking I guess she could make a run and get stuck in a crowd, God forbid!

We used dog tags for DS when he was little. He was a wanderer and hard to keep up with.

DD gets a bracelet with our name and cell phone numbers on it. She sticks pretty close to us so we've never worried about losing her but she said she feels better with it on.

I also included if they had any food or medicine allergies and emergency contacts back home. This is just in case something were to happen to us and they were alone - hopefully it would make reaching family easier.

I didn't bother with any information beyond our numbers. My kids are old enough that they do know their own names, as well as both parents. The only reason I'm 'marking' them at all (with the silicone bracelets I mentioned above), is because if they get panicked having the numbers will help.

I didn't want names on the bracelets, because if the bracelets themselves are lost I don't want too much identifying information out there. Of course, my needs would be far different if my kids had allergies or any other special need.

I think the tattoos are especially good for kids with special needs. They even have ones for kids who don't speak! Now that's something!

I just put "if lost, please call [insert cell number]" and print them on labels. Then I stick them to everything, our stroller, our bags, DDs, everything!
