So, I joined weight watchers online last week. Today was my day to weigh myself... I lost 7.3 lbs in the last week by cutting out my frequent trips to McD's, all the pizza I usually eat at work, and my constant snacking on unhealthy stuff. I'm pretty happy right now. 1/2 way to my first goal in 1 week.

YAAAAAAAY for you!! :cheer2:

Just paying attention to what we eat, and making better choices a portion of the time will yeild some pretty impressive results as you've seen.

Good luck with your weight loss and your working toward getting healthy! ::yes::

Good for you! Trying to lose weight myself before trip to WDW end of October. Trying to go a month without beer to see if it makes a difference (I call it the Homer Simpson Diet!).:goodvibes

Me too - wanna be 10 less by my cruise.

Congrats, Jay!

Wally, if you lose 10 lbs. the winds will sweep you off the deck into the sea! :scared1:

I need to lose about 17 lbs. But that sounds like such a LONG process. :sad2: Blah.

Everybody else is giving up stuff I don't consume to begin with. I am more than happy to go without beer and bacon! So why aren't the pounds just MELTING away? It's the ice cream and french fries I can't seem to go without.

Congrats on the weight loss.

I am at 142 lost for the year. It is possible, I am proof. I am the laziest person in the world, but I got my butt in gear and lost it. My advice is don't kind of commit to losing, stay at it .. it has top be a top priority or it will eventually fall down the list.

Good luck, and god speed!

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement. :) Hopefully by next June I'll have lost enough that the red disney t-shirts I bought on sale already will be big on me.

Gratz Jay!! I need to get back on the bandwagon. I've been a yo-yo for the last couple years. Getting too close to my highest weight :( It's amazing what a difference just little changes can make. I saw a big difference just from switching to diet pop. Couldn't stand the taste of it at first. Now it's the opposite. Our vending machine has been out of Diet Dew this week. If I try a regular Dew I can only drink about 1/2 of it. I was going to try to do a crash diet before my October trip but with only 2 weeks it seems pointless to start now. I'll start when I get back and keep working on it until Gay Days.

No matter HOW much I want to enjoy it, I can't stand Diet Dew :(

I lost like about 40 pounds in the span of 2 years by switching to diet soda and getting a job where I'm on my feet moving for 8 hours a day. Good luck, sometimes cutting out the littlest things out of your everyday diet makes the biggest difference!

Yeah... I can sit down at night at work, but I've found myself avoiding it and pacing back and forth... hey, it's moving...

Jay, you got the motivation, that's most of the way. I lost 100 lbs in 2005, after being big forever and ever, and getting that motivation was the hardest step. I'm proud of you. :):cheer2:
