Losing weight for trip...Aug. 2011

For those who use Weight Watchers here, a question:

I belonged to WW ten years ago - and still have the points finder and exercise finder slide things that I used. :-) How has the program changed? Are the points targets still the same? I know they tweak their programs year after year - and I'm just wondering if it changes all that much, or is it really more business driven.

Thoughts?
When I recently went back. the leader told me to throw away all my old WW materials. The new program is a lot different!

:thumbsup2

This is it for me!! Count me in! Love the idea of envisioning walking down Main Street in a sundress :) With 40 to lose and a trip coming up in August, this was the inspiration I needed.

My PTR is about losing weight for my trip.

I figured if I wrote it down, I was accountable versus just talking about it.

I am with you too. I am trying to loose a few pounds and get my husband to loose some too. Eating healthy is very hard for us, we love junk food and fried foods. Does anyone have some healthy recipes.

Me too, I want to join up. I started at beginning of year; Ihave 162 pounds to lose and have lost 63 so far. In the interest of context, I should let you know I started at 327 and on Feb 23 had gastric bypass at 295 and I am 264 today. My first mini goal is to be 246 by May 30 for a conference I have to go to in Las Vegas, then 190s or lower by Christmas for a trip St John. Definately need some support somedays, but overall doing real well:thumbsup2

Well. still only down 4 lbs. (16 to go), which I guess I should be happy with since that is where I was before our 3 days @ DL last week.

I'm starting C25K today - wish me luck.

You are doing VERY well - congrats!

good morning all,

Just wanted to let you know I have been using a canned skim mik based protein drink; VHT it has 170 cal and 35gm protein I have been having this fo breakfast everyday ( it takes me till noon, I have to mix it with ice to water it dow a little too sweet for my tastes) and it has been helping a lot. I am doing good on my water, vitamins and protein; but can't get my butt off the lazy boy and on to the treadmill. I gotta find something to motivate me!

I think I am going to get a weighted hula hoop.
I have been dying to try em.

anyone do it before?
And I am down 1.7 since March 30. Like. Watching. Paint. Dry. :rotfl:

Hi! Just came across this thread and had to join in! I too, am trying to lose weight for my trip in Aug. I started in Jan and have lost 17 pounds, but for the last few weeks, I lose a pound then stay the same, then lose barely a pound then stay the same....at least I'm not gaining, but it is very slow all of a sudden, at which point I usually get a lot less motivated or give up.
I go to Curves 3-4 times a week, and have just added in walking for 20-30 minutes 3 times a week. I have also been tracking calories on myfitnesspal.com. I'd like to lose 20 more pounds by Aug. Just hope I can do it!

If you've hit a wall, it just means it is time to change something in your routine. Try adding some light weights to your workout. Strength training helped me lose 30 pounds before I got pregnant with my kids, now I'm back to needing to start all over. Nothing excessive, you just need to build up a little more muscle. Muscle burns FAT!!!

Hey Christine! Glad to see you are hanging in there. I'm with you on the slooooooow loss. I started running again yesterday and I was UP .4lbs this morning!:scared1: I think trying the hula hoop is a great idea. Anything to change up the routine and confuse those muscles is always good. :thumbsup2

Have you bought your sundress yet? ;) I actually bought a couple more over the weekend with all the amazing sales for Easter. At this rate, I'll have to spend my whole vacation doing laps of Main Street just to wear each dress once! :lmao:

Lost 6lbs in 3 weeks. love WW:cool1:

Yay! That is awesome progress. I lost 30 in 4 months with WW. I got Lifetime and decided to do the last 15 on my own. It might be time to slink back to WW for some help. At least I don't have to pay anymore!:laughing:

That's awesome! I have been very successful on WW before, but I have since developed a love for cooking (mostly comfort foods) and can't seem to figure out a way to incorporate it into WW. I have been debating on going back but I have done that more than once and dropped out. Your success might just be what I need to get serious again.

Nope. No sundress yet. Not with only a 2ish lb loss. LOL.
I would hate to fall in love with something and then not like the way it fit.
I will start looking around the 10lbs off mark.
thanks for the kind words!
Way to go on the run!
Remember to drink more when you exercise to make up for the water loss.

Down 2 lbs this week! :cool1:
Must be since I started c25k.
Total of 6 so far, 14 to go.
Good wishes to everyone.
:hippie:

Way to go! That is so awesome. Isn't it great when it starts to come off??
Like a huge relief that you are doing something right.

I had a big loss this week at 2.9lbs. So a total in a month (LOL) of 4.7 lbs.
I'll take it!

Keep it up everyone!

"c25k" is couch to 5K - a walking to running program. There is a thread on WISH board with more details and the coolrunning website. There are many success stories so I thought I would give it a go.
