Subscribing as I have also decided to lose weight, no only for myself, but for my vacation in December. My ultimate goal is to buy a bikini (which I haven't worn since I was about 4 years old!)

I'm doing WW and have a goal of losing 35 pounds. I started out at 177 and have lost 10 pounds so far. I'm 5'6" and currently have a BMI that puts me in the "overweight" category.

I'm hoping to get to my goal but have found that the support and encouragement of others always helps, so here I am. Sign me up!
 
Oh... and TINK.... I am sorry for your loss as well... I can sympathize.. we just lost our precious daisy dog on Saturday.. she was 13, and sick for a while, although we were expecting it, it is not easy... but think, now they are running around in doggy heaven together, and waiting for us.. :grouphug:

KidaniMom, hope you have a wonderful trip & everyone feels better, which I'm sure they will since they will be at WDW. There's no better cure than that, I know since I had the flu on our Dec 07 trip, it was amazing how much beter I felt just being there.
 
Alright guys, I'm on board to lose some weight with you! I"m 5'5 (and a half!), I've included that half ever since I stopped growing, I'm stuck 1/2 inch behind where I apparently think I should be in the height world. I weigh about 200 lbs, and I wish I could say it was baby weight or something, but I don't have any kids =) it's more like the "freshman 15" that turned into the "freshman 75" that I can't seem to get under control. I have the Wii Fit, and I've dropped pounds with it before, I just need to get back on that wagon =) I see a lot of you are using Wii Active, do you think it's better than the Wii Fit? I've cut out alcohol and fast food restaurants altogether, and I've tried to include more salads and lean protein and I live by the "Eat This, Not That" books. I'm looking forward to losing some weight with you all before my December 2010 trip. My ideal goal would be to lose 75 pounds, but my more realistic goal is to lose 60 pounds. Thanks in advance for the support and I look forward to getting to know you guys!
 

Well ladies (and guys) I am back. Been to WDW (in May) and for the first time, did not lose weight or even maintain, but in fact, gained several pounds. Got so depressed I simply gave up on myself and my plan to change my health by changing my eating habits. Didn't go sompletelt crazy about foos, but came pretty close to it!:laughing:

So, I have gone back to WW. Didn't gain as much as I thought I had! Now, isn't that a sad thing to celebrate - that you didn't gain as much as you thought? :sad2: Anyway, I am back to tracking food, weighing my food and drinking my water. Not to mention, making meal plans and actually shopping for grocercies instead of picking up something to eat on the way home every night.

We have another trip planned to WDW in December. My goal is to have 30 pounds off by then. I really need to succeed this time.
 
Just checking in. How's everyone doing?

I haven't been online much the last few days. DH got back after being gone for nearly 7 weeks so the routine around the house has changed a bit. Staying on track with working out every day though. We leave to drive down to WDW on Thursday morning!! :car:

I tried my bathing suits on last night and wasn't completely horrified at the way I look! I'm bringing three suits with me this time and each one is a two-piece! :cool1:

The real challenge is going to be staying on track once we get back. Wish me luck!

I just started WW (for the bizillionth time) and it would be GREAT to have some support/buddies to loose weight with. I am having a really hard time staying motivated. I cant seem to write things down. We went to Disney in May and I had told myself I was loosing weight for Mickey... well it didnt happen. I even canceled our family photo shoot- because I just didnt want to be reminded of the way I look right now. :headache:

I have two boys- I have gained 25 pounds with each... and now I need to loose 50 pounds!!!

My weigh in day is Saturday - I will make sure to post results (good or bad)

I finished the 1st 5 workouts and it's not so bad... my kids stopped laughing at me when I do it. But I told them, that even if I am not doing it exactly like the "trainer".. (Those alternating, jump-lunge things.:confused3)... at least I'm doing it. I'm exceeding my goals, and I'm just happy to be doing something. I hate the scale, and honestly, don't know what I started out at, and what I hope to be... ( I've basically not going by how many pounds as much as I am how many sizes...) After I had my 4th child I was wearing comfortably a size 16 +... before I had kids I was a size 10.... right now I'm back to a size 12... :banana: (I've stalled there),,, so hopefully starting the active will get me back.... hopefully to a size 10 or even better a 8... .. then I will be happy!.. (I don't ever remember being smaller than that.)... my hips and thighs just don't go away.. Lets keep it up!! :cheer2: Summer is here and no reason not to be outside. and eat smart... fresh veggies and fruit are abundant this time of year. :cutie:
 
well, i have bombed big time! I have been under alot of stress the past week and a half and haven't exercised and ate way to much. So I have to get back on the wagon so I can lose some pounds before this vacation!

When I read your post, I thought I had written it: tried to lose weight for my May trip, didn't happened, gained when I went in May, joined WW again (if I could just lose the weight, I could work for them I know the program so well :rotfl:), generally weigh in on Saturday (although I was desperate this time and picked Monday to join).

I want to lose weight, I really do but as soon as I pass a McDonalds, I pull in for a biscuit and hashbrowns! While reading WW recipes!

My Dr. told me in April to lose 50 pounds before I could have surgery this fall. I go back the first of August and I weigh more than I did when last saw him! He is going to kill me!

So, this is my last resort! I am going to do it. I joined WW Monday and so far, I have done pretty good, except for writting down stuff. I keep my points in my head which I know I have to change to get it right.

I was already tring to lose weight and had lost 11lbs before leaving to go on our last trip and after looking at our wdw pictures it just made me want to lose the weight that much more. We head back in Jan. 2010 and I want to lose at least 60lbs by then. But I also found out this past april that I have an underactive thyroid which now that medicine is working I hope to start droping the weight a little more easily.

For me this has been a great place to come for support and inspiration over the last couple of months. I only hope we can all continue to be there for one another, when one of us falters there are others here to offer encouragement, wisdom and even some laughs.

I finished the last workout on my 30 day challenge today. I haven't lost much weight this month. but my endurance is better so that's good. When I started I had a hard time with the running, but now it's easy.

We're going to the beach in a few days & while I'm not where I wanted to be at this point, I'm not too embarassed to be seen in my two-piece. Nobody's going to be looking at a 50 year old woman anyway so who cares?:rotfl:

How is everyone else doing? You must all be on vacation since no one has posted for a few days.

I haven't posted due to sheer embarrassment. I started the WII fit and this morning is my day 21 and I have lost a total of 2.5 Lbs.
Very discouraging. I do two 30 min sessions per day (20 min of aerobics per session)
I saw my doctor last week and she did labs and I should have the results today or tomorrow...she thinks I may need more thyroid medication and cannot figure out why I am so tired and not losing weight. She says part of the reason is I dont eat enough....doesn't make sense to me. I will continue with the WII fit and my dh bought me the WII active this weekend.
I will put up the full length mirror...
I think the board is quiet because if you all are going to the world in September...we are all busy trying to make and tweak our ADRs.

Hey.... nothing to be ashamed of.... It's still 2.5 lbs!! :) And besides.. you may be just building muscle... Everyone knows that muscle weighs more than fat... so, don't be discouraged.. If you do it the right way... it may come off slowly, but then maybe you will be able to maintain it better. I know many people who when on crash diets etc. and lost lots of weight right off the bat. and then eventually put it all back on + more. slowly but surely.. you'll get there.
 
I got on the scale yesterday and it said...147! I'm thrilled with the result. I think the running 20 a day has really helped. I have slacked tonight, but tomorrow back to the grind stone. 15 more lbs to go and only 10.5 weeks to do it.
