LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Going to meet some girlfriends for dinner. Almost cancelled because it usually ends up being extra calories I don't need and tomorrow is my daughters birthday party(cake). I will be strong, I will be strong........LOL. Been doing well since Tuesday and hoping to keep it going over the next crazy food filled days.

Last night went good. Today I have been a little bad with the birthday party here I had some cake and pizza. But I knew I was going to have a little and get back on track tomorrow.

We had one of those yesterday! Decided to use it as my rest day lol! Back on track today with smart one breakfast and baked chicken for lunch!
 
I have not been perfect today but not horrible. Lots of leftovers here. Tomorrow is my DD actual birthday and my mom is making her cupcakes. I will resist them because I had my cake fix this weekend. Feel much more in control during the week when it is more structured. I did decide to go on a long walk last night to help burn some of the extra calories from yesterday.

BiehlFam great job with getting right back on track. I think those break days help us through the process.
 

I know I posted just last night but I just received a dress I had ordered of ebay that was described as a XL. Super cute but the label say size 10US which is not even close too a XL. Now I can put it on but can't do the zipper up so do I bother sending it back our do I make it my goal? It was only $10 so it isn't a huge loss of money if it never fits plus I have a bunch of skinny family it will fit. What do you think? I think it would be a big reward in the end if I can wear it on my cruise.

Had a good nutrition day thanks to Kroger special on smartone meals! Did a barlates boxing workout this morning...wowzers!! Hope I can keep this up!
 
Having trouble keeping completely on track. Having a couple of those very hungry days. I know it will pass. I have got my workouts in both days which makes me feel better.
 
I understand!! I started working out in January but only started using myfitnesspal again a month ago...I finally feel like I found my groove!
 
I, too, am trying to lose my last 30-40 pounds. I have already lost 130 pounds and these last 30 plus pounds are really difficult for me. I am hoping to use the cruise as motivation. Perhaps use the 5K as further motivation since I am not a runner. Anyone up for some 5k training?
 
Wow 130lbs! That is amazing! I could afford to lose 100 but shooting for 50 to start. I have done a few runs before but I am planning on restarting my training for being able to run 5k at once again. Did the princess 10k in February and loved it! Really want to do another one soon. Tried to get in on one for November but it sold out too quick. May have to wait until the next winter to do another Disney run. May do the Castaway 5k again but we did it last cruise and I am not sure we want to do it again. They did change the medal so that is why I am thinking of doing it again.
 
Just checking in!! I've lost 4 pounds in the last month! Things are going well. Sticking to myfitnesspal and using smartones to help with nutrition and portion control! Yesterday I walked/jogged the Indy Mini Marathon! Bikini Body 4.0 starts on Monday and I'm ready to get back to it!
 
I am weighing in tomorrow. Not sure how I will be since I have been stress eating. Planning on getting back on track with my eating tomorrow. I have still been exercising which usually isn't as much of a struggle as eating is.

I feel ya on the eating. I feel like I've finally got a handle on it in the last 30 days. I've stopped buying junk food "for the kids"...bought fruits, veggies, protein bars, nuts and cheese. Hang in there!
 
Good job 3o days of healthy eating is awesome. I seem to not be able to get a handle on my stress eating. Hockey tryouts are this week for my son and four goalies came out this year. I am sure he will make it but nothing is a 100% until you get the official word.

Ugh..that's stressful for him and you!!! Crunch on some carrots while you wait! lol

I found a lot of helpful info on pinterest for my stress/boredom/emotional eating. I just got so tired of sabotaging my own fitness! Keep hanging in there. You'll get it figured it out!
 
Week 1 of Bikini Body Mommy 4.0 is in the books. Staying on track for the most part with nutrition. Went swimsuit shopping for a trip to Hawaii next month..still hate swimsuit shopping..maybe by next April's cruise I won't despise it so much.
 
I just happened across this thread. I have 2 months until I cruise and desperately need to drop some weight. I never had a weight issue until after I had my last child (6 years ago) and it got so much worse when I turned 40 (4 years ago). It makes me sad that I cannot seem to loose any weight. I would really appreciate any info or support.
 
Hi losers! I am a loser too! And all of my family wants to be losers...

So our cruise is 1/23, just 6 months away. DH and I have been working out for a couple of months already, and my parents are just starting to get back at it. Since it's unfair to do updates on their profess (unless it's super awesome) I will just be speaking for myself. However, DH is 6'4" and down to 170 ish. His goal isn't to lose anything at this point, but to build lean muscle and tone. He has back issues, so less weight and stronger body=less pain.

Personally, I'm 31, 5'8", 149 lbs. I've lost about 7lbs in the last 6 months. Slow going, but I wasn't putting in much effort. I'd like to get down to 130-140. I know this is pretty low for my height, but our cruise is a Star Wars sailing, and DH has picked out a really sexy dress for me to wear as Leia, body exposed all over the place, so I want everything as tight as I can get it. My current motto is, "Princess Leia does eat that." Seriously confused my boss last night when I turned down a chocolate covered donette. I LOVE those things, they are such a trigger food for me.

I usually workout 3 times a week, but I want to do 6. Stuff often pops up and gets in the way...like this week it was horrible acid reflux from pizza on Saturday. My goal right now is weights and elliptical twice a week, abs and bike twice a week, and arobics and swimming twice a week, with Sunday off. My weigh-in day is Monday's.

As far as food, which I love eating and preparing, I loosely follow the 21 day fix plan. I don't really measure my food, but I'm pretty good at eyeballing my portions. I try to stick to one or two 1/2c portions of carbs a day, lots of protein, veggies, and fruit. I also try to stick to food as close to whole and as far from processed as possible. So much of it comes down to how I shop and what we keep in the house...I try to shop the outsides of the store most, which really helps.

My biggest downfall is the weekends. DH and I will often eat out for 4 meals in a weekend: date night Friday (plus. Movie treats), lunch Saturday, lunch Sunday, and a late night snack on Saturday. Sometimes I make ok choices, but sometimes I over do it. A couple of drinks here, appetizer and desert there, it all adds up. So the way I choose some of these things will change, but there will probably always be at least one heavy splurge day.

My goal right now is to drop a lb. a week. That would put me at goal by November. Then I can practice maintenance. If at some point after I get down to 140 my body plateaus out, I will be ok with that. I know what I looked like last time I was that small, and I could live with that. The trick will be maintenance through the holidays...
