LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

We cruise in 9 months, and I would love to lose about 20 pounds by then! I hover around 170 right now, and would love to get to 150. It is what i weighed on my wedding day (over 15 years ago) and it is also my amended WW goal weight. I look forward to losing with all of you :goodvibes

Hi all,

We are taking our first Disney Cruise in January onboard the Magic. I am hoping to lose the last 15 lbs-the hardest ones-by Jan 28 when we leave for Florida. I am currently using Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred and running about 12 K per week. I know I'll have to change my eating again because I have been bad about sugar(but it's so good!!) and being in Ottawa in the winter-well lets just say some extra blubber pays off in the winter. Here's to better living!!!

Okay so I am joining in on this thread... For some reason saying out loud a goal is more than just wanting it. So here is my goal... To lose 60 lbs before our cruise day in March. Thats 12 pounds a month. I can do it! Lets hold each other accountable to this thread.

Would LOVE to lose 80-100 pounds before my cruise in October of next year! I plan on starting the Weight Watchers Program next month, so here's to hoping we all can do it! That gives me around 11 months to do it.

P.S. Sugar is also my weakness:lovestruc

We cruise in 9 months, and I'd like to be down 26 pounds by then!
I'm at 166 - just below my post baby weight (but my "baby" is now 4) :rolleyes1

However, we're heading to Tenerife in February. I would LOVE to be at 150 by then - thats really only a 1 pound weight loss a week!

I've been wearing the same darn swimsuit since I had Maddie, and this year I am DETERMINED to get a new (smaller) one.

My weakness is bread (and sugar). I do miserably at WW without the meetings but I can't make the nearest meeting (15 miles away). Right now my only exercise is walking the puppy (hard work) but I've got Jillian Michaels shred and Wii Fitness, and I'm gonna do it!

I'm here! We cruise 2/2012 for my son's 13th birthday celebration and I want to lose 50 lbs. That works out to 3.33 lbs. per month, which should be easy, if I stop the sodas and chips and such. So excited about the cruise but refuse to go like this.

I can't help you with no bread - if I cut out bread I'd have nothing left to eat (and then maybe I'd finally lose weight!). Keep your lattes, but switch to 2% - no need to go all the way to skim, 2% will make a big difference. Personally I get soy milk, which has more fat and calories than skim but it's sweeter so it keeps me from adding too much extra sugar.

Exercise - I recently discovered the Bollywood dance workouts on Fit TV. So much fun! And soooooo hard!!

I worked in a bakery right before, and for awhile after, I got married. I feel your pain!! What about bringing some yogurt and granola with you? Or some fruit or raw veggies ready to eat? I know I do my best when I have healthy stuff ready to go whenever I need it! :thumbsup2
Good luck, keep posting!
I am a stress eater so I tend to yoyo up and down, I have pretty much stayed where I started from when I first posted! I have my 13 yo dd ready to go to the gym with me, they have kids classes there, so hopefully that will motivate me! My dd has aboslutely no fat on her, lol, but she isn't very active so I am hoping to set up some good habits with her now, to prevent her from going through my issues later!

oooooooooooohhhhhhhhh so much fun! My fave at the gym is Zumba, such fun and so sweaty, lol. I once wore a pedometer during the class and it was over 7000 steps!
My biggest issue is my stomach. I have a big caboose, but that's nature and I can't fix that, but my stomach gets very mushy! I am taking a core class today and then jogging on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I like to do 5Ks (badly!) and my friend and I are doing the Susan Komen 3 Day in September 2011 (60 miles in 3 days, this will be our 2nd) so I need to stay in decent shape for that.
I would like to lose 20 pounds by July, for the cruise!!

dh and i walked 3miles tonight.

But i had a slice of pizza today for lunch at a manager meeting.....uggh

the bollydance sounds fun:goodvibes

Hello everybody! Good luck on your weight loss goals. We're cruising in 6 months and I need to lose about 40 pounds. I look forward to hearing about all of your success!

Hi everyone. I was checking out everyone's posts and thought I would tell you my goals for our cruise next October.
My husband and I have started a diet we have been on it for about 20 weeks. I have lost 5kg and he has lost 10kg. We basically cut out carbs and reduced the size of out meat. We eat heaps of vegies and fruit to stop the snacking. My goal now is to work out and to lose what I call mummy belly. I am 37 and my eldest is 7yrs, youngest is 5 so I should really stop blaming them!

I hope that you all reach your goals, I will cheer for you all. I hope you cheer me on to as some days I need the encouragement.:cheer2:

Good luck to everyone on their weight loss goals! I'm almost at the end of the journey having lost 70 lbs so far with 10 to go! Cruise is in January, so if I can make it through the holidays without gaining any weight should be able to make it. I hear the last 10 lbs are hard, but these last 10 have been REALLY hard and now the last 10 to go. LOL

One thing I've learned is to eat sensibly and exercise daily! Don't worry about carbs, sugar etc. Just eat lots of fiber to keep you full, avoid the fast food joints and make better food choices. Easier said then done, but once you get on the right track it is easy to stay with it.

Ok...I am joining in! I have 34 days till I set sail and I want to lose as close to 10 pounds as possible! I plan to post my loss everyday...this will hold be accountable;). I am going to try really hard!

Good luck to everyone and "good job" for those people who have already lost!!!:yay::yay::yay:

yay!:yay:I lost my first pound! loss=1.0
Now 9 to go!
I have been trying to lose for 3 weeks now and just couldn't commit, now I am ready!;)

I think I need to join in....I have 75 to lose before our cruise in December 2011. I think I can do it, but just need a little bit more support....maybe this will be my support system.

yesterday went up .6. Today back down .6. Total=1.0.
I did well today with food choices. I need to get in gear with exercising!

Good luck Chiefdragon!
