LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Hey everyone! I found your thread and thought this is what I need. I am cruising December 2011 my first cruise.:cool1: I have been on weight watchers for almost 5 months now the first 6 weeks lost 10 lbs then gained it all back:sad2:.. I have gotten myself slowly down to 7lbs lost , but I ran out of motivation.:confused3 I am 25 5'1 with 2 kids I weighed 143 when I started, today the scale says 138.9 I want to be 120 to 125 by december. Can you all motivate me to start the plan the way it was meant to be done? Any tips would be great! :worship:
 
hello everyone! I'm hoping this forum helps cause im having some trouble! I've been trying to loose weight for awhile now and i just seem to keep putting it on!! I'm at 160 now the highest ive ever been in my life, and id like to be down to 120 for our cruise, but not just for our cruise, in general its necessary to stop feeling so crappy about myself. I guess i'm just looking for motivation and tips. i have especially hard time with feeling hungry ALL THE TIME and not finding motivation to go to the gym after 9 hours at work!
 
This is a great thread! I'm trying ti lose 10 more pounds before we leave in July! I'm on WW and that has helped a lot with watching what I put in my mouth. I cut out my late night eating and did a boot camp through my gym to get my butt moving! I tend to sabotage myself when I start losing and I want to FIT into the swimsuit this year, not look at everyone else fitting in theirs! Waiting on my Turbo Fire workout DVDs to hit to give me some variety from gym workouts. Good luck to everyone on here. We can do it! :thumbsup2

New to this thread. I started WW @ 5 weeks ago, I am down 8 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race... right? I have @100 more to go but this is a start :)
We have another MR booked for January so I'm hoping to ditch my tent-like clothes and wear something cute for a change. Ultimately though I would like to be in FABULOUS shape for our adult-only trip on the Allure in September 2012. The heat in the Caribbean will be far more appealing and tolerable if I can wear a bathing suit with out embarrassment!
 

Yeah for you!! Keep up the good work. I have been on WW since Feb and lost 23 lbs. 7 more to go before our cruise in Feb.
 
hi! Add me please. I actually had been losing a few pounds here and there just from eating healthier, but I am for sure an emotional eater and I am also a teacher. The stress at the end of EVERY school year gets me and I eat a lot. So I have gained a lot. Actually, I think it is the sodas I have been inhaling when I usually do not have more than 2-3 per week. BUT - I am going to keep on going. I noticed a lot of people do the Wii Fitness. Are there any particular game or excercise you do each time? I do the Wii Fit sometimes, but the ones I like doing only burn like 8 calories or so at a time. I have also heard other teachers talking about a dance party game and a Michael Jackson Dance game for the Wii. They just rave about them. Anyone have experience with those? My main problem I do believe is the "moving" part, because once I get home from work all I want to do is go to bed.

Have you tried Zumba? It sounds like you want to workout but not "feel" like you are working out. Zumba does that and you have a great time dancing to the music and working it off. You should check it out. :thumbsup2
 
I started my Turbo Fire and I HURT!!!! I am so sore until it's not even funny! I'D BETTER LOSE MY LAST 10 WITH WHAT I'M PUTTING MY BODY THROUGH!! :crutches:
 
Hi everyone, I am also trying to lose weight, for all the same reasons, bathing suit, feel better about myself, upcoming cruise. I started back at the end of April, doing Jenny Craig. It's working for me, I've been on it for 9 weeks and I've lost 18 pounds. I wouldn't say it's melting off, but I see ounces coming off everyday. Though, I don't want JC to get all the credit. I'm really disciplined with my eating and have been killing myself going to the gym 5 days a week. I enjoy the wii and zumba too!! I just keep telling myself "nothing tastes as good, as skinny feels!!! :thumbsup2

CONGRATS on your weight loss! I am very happy for you! You're right, skinny feels great and healthy feels even better! I tend to sabotage myself when I get close to where I'm supposed to be. So I bought some clothes last week and they were size 10 down from 14 earlier in the year when I started WW! Woo hoo! :woohoo: I just need to figure our a way to get rid of this baby pooch in my belly! I'm going to keep at it with Turbo Fire and Zumba. We leave soon so I'm being realistic about the numbers on the scale. I wanted 10 but 5 may be more realistic now. :confused3 We'll see...gotta go workout!

What a great thread! It's nice to see the camaraderie!

I'm in a similar boat :) to a lot of you. I've been on WW for the past year (lost about 10 lbs, mostly plateauing... but pushing through!) and just finished my first round of P90X. I lost 3.5 inches but not much weight... I think I just need more cardio in my life (on the flip side, I can now almost keep up with DBF in terms of push-ups - something I never thought I could even get past doing 1!).

Just starting TurboFire tonight and I'm excited to see how it goes.

Offhanded, I'm at 90 days til our cruise (I REALLY need to update my sig soon I think!) and am shooting for about 15 lbs... mostly so when I gain 5lbs on the cruise, I'll still be down 10! haha ;)
 
Hello everyone out there in weight loss land! I am trying to loose an additional 25 pounds. I lost my first 10...phew... My biggest weakness in life? Those golden arches of McDonald's! I want to be really dressed up~!up:yay::yay::scared1:
I am doing Zumba and love it and I am eating a lot of steamed Healthy choice meals. The Beef Merlot is amazing and you can eat two and it still is less calories than one quarter pounder with cheese!!!!!

I have not been on a scale but I have walked for three days in a row! I really feel good about it and I'm really feeling motivated to loss this weight. I'm going to my first WW meeting tomorrow at 5:30 and then off to walk again. I'm so glad that I joined this thread. It's really helping to keep me focused. I have changed my eating habits. They still are not perfect but better than they were. My new goal is to go from a size 24 to a size 18 before our cruise in Nov. Then to continue to work on my weight and be a size 14/16 by our next cruise in June 2012. I was a size 12 in high school so I'm not going to make my goal to impossible.

Count me in !! Cruising on the Disney Dream September 29th. I 'm using this trip as my motivation. I started working out and dieting June 1st ( cardio, weights, and racquetball 5 days a week and Weight Watchers.) I'm down 26 lbs so far. but thats a drop in the bucket- my starting weight was 356 lbs. hope to get to 290 by cruise day. Lots of great and inspiring posts to help keep me going and wishing everyone luck on their weight loss! Remember, every little bit counts.Let's stay with it and do our best! Ooooo -- I'll join in too! Not cruising until December, but I started my weight loss plan May 22. I am down 13 pounds so far :)
 
Okay Cruisers here's some news and motivation for you! I was in Vegas last week for a meeting and wasn't able to workout the way I needed to. Messed up time zones, early and late meetings, etc. Got really concerned about the food...meeting and reception food...dinners...you know the drill. Anyhoo, to my surprise, I lost a pound last week because I walked my butt off going from my room to the meeting site twice a day! Woo Hoo! :banana: I only wish I had taken my pedometer with me so I could have seen how far I actually walked. It gave me a new found respect for meetings in Las Vegas! Moral of the story...if you can't do anything at all, you can WALK! Let's go for it!
 
I agree ZUMBA is a great way to get active and lose weight. I wish the YMCA by me offered classes at night for this. Since I work it is hard to find the class at a time that I can do it. Keep up the good work!!
