LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

We moved over the holidays and my lifestyle became ridiculous. I believe I am back on track but really lack alot of energy. 15 lbs in 2 months is realistic for me but not if I don't find an energy boost. I don't have the time for the gym that I would like but when I have the opportunity to go, I need more drive. I don't drink coffee so that isn't an option. Any ideas? Please help.. My summer wear is afraid of me!

Another pound lost!! just 14 lbs more till my goal weight! I am losing about 1 lb a week, which I am happy with cause I know I can keep it off at this rate :cool1: Total of 12 lbs lost so far!

Missed last week due to Spring Break, which is also why I'm late this week.

Still at 299.4lbs. Nothing lost BUT nothing gained! :cool1:

We cruise again in just less than a year
BUT, my real goal is to loose 20 more by June. ( My oldest son is getting married)

I have lost 10 so far in about 8 weeks....

I am drinking lots of water...water water water.....i do hate me some water.
But i find it it is really cold and in small portions i can just basically chug it.
Also drink soda water.

I am using weight watchers meals for lunches at work which helps me alot.

And i have been snacking on cranraisins, instead of cookies:laughing:

I have had to look at this as a change of lifestyle rather than a "diet" i dont want to gain it back later.

Hello!

We are doing an October cruise on the Wonder. :)

Just going to lay it all out. I am 5'4" and 183. I have been doing WW at work for 11 weeks now. I would like to lose about 30 more by October. According to WW I should lose about 50 more, but having been that size before, it was a bit to skinny on me. Oh, I am 37, as stated below.

My goal is to be healthy and survive the DLR 1/2 Marathon in September.

Last week was Spring Break for me too, had a few days off, so I was able to work out more. Biggest Loser DVD's kicked my butt!

I am up to 15 lbs lost so far (in 4 weeks). The weight loss is slowing now, more like 1 lb a week, so I will be extremely happy if I stay on this track.

Still no soda, nothing to drink but water. Small, small, I mean kid meal small portions. I am eating the same as my 3 yr old daughter, but am surprisingly content when I clean my plate. Eating all 3 meals plus snacks.

Great Job!!!!

Great job losers!!!

I somehow managed to lose 1 pound on our cruise!!! I ate everything but kept portions good...and walked the stairs so much that I had an inflamed muscle that I guess never existed before, took 10 days for it to go down..so now I'm back on the treadmill. I made it 68 days in a row of walking 4 miles a day, this go round I'm going to give myself a day off...

I'm 231 and have 18 months to get to my 20th anniversary cruise goal of 145...I'm almost 5'8 so even 150's, I'll be happy, but 145 would put my BMI in a great position!! :)

Let's get 'er dun!! :)

Hello everyone!
Our Feb 2012 Magic cruise was my motivation to begin my diet (once again!). I began WW last month and have lost 15 pounds so far but my goal is 30 by time of the cruise. I am 5'6 and am at 162 but hope to get to between 145 and 150. I am starting to stagnate on WW already but want to keep the motivation going. Good luck to all!!!:):)

Hi Everyone :)

Just booked our MR cruise for October 2012. It's a way off but I still need to loose about 10 go 15 lbs ASAP. It's just not easy to do when you get older and swim suits are in the back of my mind.

Anyway, I've got to get back to working out with my DVD's and most importantly start my training for the Disneyland Half Marathon in Sept. My husband and I have been doing this for 5 yrs now. I want to get a better finishing time so loosing a few lbs will help me do that.

The diet starts tomorrow and I wish there was a easy way to do it. I am going to start cutting out anything white; sugar and flour. Increase my protein and watch my carbs.

Wish me luck !!

Good luck with the marathon!! I am doing Weight Watchers and I have been having good results. I have lost 16 lbs in 6 weeks. I still have 15 more to go but I have time. We are going on the Magic in Feb 2012. Goal is to feel comfortable in a bathing suit!!!:rotfl2:

Jasec2--That is great news about your lbs pound on weight watchers.

The first couple of days is just the worst for me when I am starting a diet. Very grumpy and I just want to eat everything insight. Things I wouldn't even ever eat.

things that helped me through the first weeks.......

cran raisins....lots of cran raisins
blueberrys.....would eat a half a little carton at a time
tiny peppermint patties.....nice for after dinner

A GREAT SNACK DESERT TYPE thing to eat is.........
cut strawberries, a high fiber cereal and instead of milk use, non fat vanilla creamer, jjust enough to wet the cereal YUMMY!!!!

GUM!
Mints
DRINK LOTS OF WATER....flavored water....sprakling water...

joining in! I have given myself a 3lbs a week goal - hoping to get a few lbs off before summer really kicks in! I had hoped to lose a bunch before my last cruise in March - it didnt happen - I am determined not to let that happen before my next cruise which is planned for next year. I'm going for the healthy eating WW approach - any tips greatly appreciated :cool1:

I just found this thread and I'm in. We booked a cruise for Nov 23, 2011. My goal is to loss 20lbs so I can have a reason to buy new clothes even though I need to loss much more than that.

I wanted to set my goal within reason. I love the fact that everyone on here is so supportive and helps in anyway they can.

I'm going to check back often to see how others are doing and anytime I need a little encouragement. Thanks everyone.

We are sailing on the Dream April 2012. I just joined WW online today. I need to lose about 40 lbs and it is not cruise-related---I need to lose the weight whether or not we are cruising ;)

Not sure when I want to reach my goal by...the sooner the better, but I know I have to be realistic.

Just a quick update on me... 26 lbs lost!!! I saw another green light on my scale (which only lights at every 5 lbs lost) so I felt pretty swell today.

Still no sodas, walking lots and I barely upgraded to a slow jog today, but I think it might do a number on my knees, so I might resort back to walking fast. I've joined a Biggest Loser weight challenge at work, it's for 2 months. I am kinda of bummed because I am fearing a plateau is near, but I shall be persistent. It's a $150 pot ($30 pp) - so that money could be used for tips on the cruise :rotfl: I am aiming to win this thing!!!

Good luck everyone - we can accomplish anything if we work hard at it!!

Hi again!
I am only down 5 lbs, but I am proud of my exercising routine. I have been very dedicated. I am hoping it melts off of me soon!!!!

What an awesome thread!!!

We are planning to go on the Magic on 11/12/11. I have been on (and off) Weight Watchers since February 2010 when my youngest was 6 weeks old. I had a LOT of success (was down 60lbs) and slipped the past several months. I'm now about 15lbs above my lowest that I was in February. I am hoping to lose 35-40 lbs before the cruise. A couple weeks before the cruise also happens to be my 30th birthday... and I REALLY want to be in the absolute best shape of my life!

I re-focused on WW 2 weeks ago and am going strong... now to just keep it up! :)

I was feeling like skipping the gym today...so I headed over here and read some comments! Thanks for the motivation! Off to the gym soon. :)

Since February 1st I have lost 26 lbs of body fat. I went from over 31% body fat to 19% body fat. Hard work, but I'm loving it (especially when I don't skip the gym).

Keep up the good work everyone!
