That is my goal.

Proper goal setting involves being specific, measurable, timely, and written. I have it written on my desk and now on the Dis.

I was at 253 on Thursday July 22. My target is 228 by September 30.

My plan-
1. Work out five days a week- three cardio, two with weights
2. No sweets
3. Limit snacks to one small healthy snack(granola, fruit, nuts, etc.) in the mid after-noon
4. No fried food
5. Drink lots of water

I will post my weekly updates here.

Anyone else want to lose 25 lbs with me?

I'm in! We are going to a water park in September,so I am so motivated!

Friday, July 23: 220
Goal: 195 by September 21 (day we leave)

I know I need more water and less soda. And count me in for 5 days a week!

25 by Sept 17th would be perfect for me, I have a 1/2 marathon in Ohio that I would love to PR so I am now 197 would love to be close to 175.

Pop and salty snacks are my weakness but I am working on it.

I just had a baby on June 20. I was already overweight. As of Monday July 19 I weighed 210lbs. I will work out at least five days a week.

Three days in-

As of this morning I am 2 lbs down.(I weigh myself every morning right when I get out of bed)

Thursday I lifted weights- chest, biceps and back.

Friday I ran 2.35 miles.

Today I just played with my three year old in the pool.

Diet so far so good. No sweets. Limit of one diet soda a day(today I have had only water and coffee). Had a granola bar for the afternoon snack on Thursday and today, and a handful of nuts on Friday.

Best part is I feel great.

Looking forward too my next weigh in.

Six days in and down 3.5 lbs. Sticking to the diet. My craving for sweets has pretty much decreased to the point where I really don't miss them.

Originally I planned one diet soda a day, but instead I have gravitated to one diet Snapple instead.

Lori, Hockeychic, anyone else- how is it going.

I'm a bit late to this but I'd like to join you guys!

I weighed in for my weekly "official" weigh in at 234 today(down 10 pounds total!!!). So that will be my starting weight.

My plan is to stay within 1,200 - 1,400 calories per day and exercise 5x per week. I also started C25K this week too.

Good luck to all!

Welcome Desiree, keep us informed on your progress.

I am one week into it. I weighed myself this morning and am down 4.5 lbs. I celebrated by running 2.6 miles.

I'm in! I'm late finding this thread, but I just started a plan about two 1/2 weeks ago. I've lost 8 lbs so far, so that puts me on track to lose the 24 lbs by September.

I started at 238, I am currently at 230. My overall goal is to get under 200 lbs by January. I have been walking every day for almost 3 weeks, about 20-25 minutes per walk.
I am using a free app called Lose it! for the ipod touch/iphone to track my calories & activities. It is awesome, but a little bit of a challenge at first. I have completely changed my eating habits. Everytime I think of eating something bad, I think of what I want to look like!
For the app, you enter your current weight & height and put in your target weight. You tell it how many lbs per week you want to lose & it calculates how many calories per day you can have. My limit is 1400, but I've been averaging 1100. You input everything you eat & drink, as well as all of your activities. 30 minutes of housework? Put it in. It has really made me take a 2nd look at everything I eat. I am saving a ton of money since I stopped frequenting Starbucks!

Wow, great thread. I probably need to lose about 30 pounds overall, but totally would love to target a goal of 20 by September 30th.

My biggest problem is portions. I tend to overeat, especially when I exercise. Knowing this about myself, I try and be hyperaware of when, how and what I eat, but it usually backfires.

Count me in, thanks for starting this thread!

Would love to join also! I know it's late, but I'm gonna put myself at the 20 pounds by then. After a very stressful court case and move across country 4 months ago, I have gotten WAY off track. Was already bad, but is getting progressively worse. I just haven't had the motivation to do anything but get unpacked, etc.

I am definitely an emotional/tastes good eater, so I sometimes eat even if I'm not hungry really! Need someone to be accountable to, so I guess it's gonna be you guys! :rotfl:

Checking in! I've lost 10 pounds so far, working out more and cutting calories. I found a great app on the iPhone that helps. It's called I lose! It lets you make a goal and helps you keep track of your calorie allowance, calories used, and workouts. It was Free!!

Wow, that's great LoriABil. I guess that would work for an iTouch also?

I'm very late finding this thread, but I really want to join in. I have my daughter's wedding in October. I need all the help I can get.
It helps reading about the good work everyone is doing. Thanks.:thumbsup2

I am now down 13lbs, this Lose It app is awesome! It has really helped me keep track of everything I eat and it is so easy now. I keep eating many of the same things too, so I know automatically which combination is within my calorie budget.
I am still walking too, but I decided to try to take it one step farther and have started the P90x workout. Crazy, but I am willing to try anything. These pounds must come off!
