I am sorry if this is redundant.

I am going in Dec. for 5 nights and we are treating our brother and sister in law. I was wondering the price on a LOS pass and if you can drop the 1st day.

AAA ult. hopper is about $200/pp for 4 days.

Does anyone know the price for LOS per day /pp. We are DVC and APH.

Thanks:confused:

You will get a 10% discount. And they will drop the first (and usually the last) day. We had them drop the last day on ours without a problem. Deb has the price listed as $251. So you are looking at $225. If you make the decision purely off finances, AAA is a great deal.

(To give you some idea of how my husband makes decisions, when we did a similar calculation he said "its worth $25 to me to have the ticket on my room key and be able to buy the pass at check in.")

Oh, Deb's price includes 6.5% tax. So if your AAA price doesn't it will be closer to $213 a ticket.

I heartily agree with Crisi's hubby. You also may want to consider the regular park-hoppers, where any day you don't use can be used on a subsequent visit. We always find ourselves wishing we had just taken a day or two to hang around the resort, go to the pool, and just get some downtime. Of course on a 4-5 day visit, I guess your guests would want to cram a lot of touring in, so LOS pass may be the best bet.

Could someone tell me whether the LOS pass works in the water parks, etc. like the UPH, or is there some supplemental fee?

Thanks for the advice.

I will probably end up doing the AAA passes. I am nervous about going at x-mas time with it being so busy and all. My husband gets mildly claustrophobic w/ such crowds.

If I get 4 day AAA passes at least if we don't go they can have the passes for a subsequent visit.

Thanks again.

Please have pity on me, I am new to DVC and confused.
LOS is the UPH, just an older name for it.

crisi,

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the LOS (length of stay) pass is just that - only good for your current stay. You pay for each day whether used or not. The UPH (ultimate park hopper) pass is bought for the number of days you plan to use, you can skip days, and they never expire so you can use unused days on your next trip.

I know through SoG, I can buy either one. Which is it that we can get through DVC?

Ultimate Park Hoppers are length of stay passes. Only good for the length of your stay - and good for every day of your stay. The last day they are good is the day you check out, after which, they make nice souvieniers. These used to be called Length of Stay passes, until Disney marketing decided on a more clever and confusing name. I don't know much about military discounts, so I don't know what you can buy through SoG - except that the LOS and the UPH are the same thing.

Park Hoppers and Park Hopper Pluses are the tickets that never expire. Pluses are the ones with plus options that get you into the waterparks.

Through DVC you can get a 10% discount on the UPH (also known as the LOS) pass. This is only good at check in - you cannot buy them in advance. And the desk staff will let you drop the first or last (and usually both if you ask them) days - although I believe that is at their discretion. There is no discount on any other type of pass through DVC at this time - not APs, not Park Hoppers, nor anything else. Through other places (including the military) you can get discounts on other type of passes.

crisi,

Thanks. I had the PHP and the UPH mixed up. The SoG still calls its UPH pass an LOS, or more precisely, the Stars and Stripes Length of Stay ticket - very patriotic, of course, but ripe for confusion.

Again, thanks for the info.
