I didn’t touch the stair railings, mostly because I didn’t go down the beach that way. So yes you can get to the ocean and beach without using the stairs.

There is a row of chairs, loungers and umbrellas on the beach itself - there’s just more up behind the dunes. I can’t speak to the family beach area, but we were able to get chairs to sit on the waters edge over on the Serenity Bay section.
The excursions leave you about 2-3 hours to see Lighthouse Point, which gives you a nice taste for it, but not really able to see all of it if you wanted to do the Junkanoo celebration, characters, arts & crafts, etc. it is enough time to walk the main area, grab lunch and enjoy the water for a little bit.
I did not see any, but there’s a nature trail where you are likely to see them. (I did not do the trail so cannot confirm).Are the little crabs still around?
Yes we saw photographers at the family beach.
