I'm wondering if renting points would be an option for our upcoming stay Jan, 1-6, 2004. I have visited the rental board but have other questions before I post my dates on that board.

Is it too late to rent points and get a ressie for these dates?

How do I know how many points it will cost to stay at the BWV for these dates? (so I will know how many points to rent).

I hope I have posted these questions on the correct board. The rental board seems to be classifieds only.

TIA

I'd suggest using the point calculator and figure out how many points you need first. Then post on the rental board indicating the number of points you need and the dates you are looking at.

If someone contacts you that has the points to rent, he/she will have to contact DVC to check on availability. Renting points can be a very time-intensive process for the renter, so you may not get a lot of responses given your holiday travel dates and the short notice.

Holiday periods are very busy, and I believe you will find the point costs to be high. If you're looking to stay at the Boardwalk, you can probably forget the "Standard" view rooms altogether. There are very few of those rooms, and many are snatched-up right at the 11-month window ressie window.

You have already received the best advice, but I would say, the only date that might be a problem is Jan. 1. I think you would have a much better chance if you don't limit yourself to BWV, but leave it open to ANY DVC resort.

I know Jan 3-6 is sold out of 2 bdr at BWV. We (DS and myself) are booked there in a 1 bdrm. He decided to bring a friend and I tried to switch to a 2 bdrm. Sold out for those dates.
