We will be in Orlando 4/5-4/12 and have tickets to US/IOA as well as Sea World/Aquatica. The parks all close pretty early that week, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to do in the evenings. My DH and I are 46 y.o. and will have 4 wonderful teenage boys with us. They are all open to doing just about anything. We'll do putt-putt one night, hang at the pool another. Any other ideas? We will have our car with us and have thought about going over to the Disney area, but will not be going into the parks (sorry for using the "D" word here). Thanks for any suggestions.

I like the idea of a movie, but Blue Man Group would set us back $500, and with my oldest headed off to college in August, I just can't swing that. Thanks for the ideas.

Universal has a Dinner & a Movie deal thats $21.00/per person and includes dinner at a CityWalk restaurant and a movie. It's a great deal. You might want to think about it.

$500 - wow yes I can understand that then :)

We wont be going to blue man since we already seen them in Vagas and Toronto a few tims.

metro - how do I get more info on the dinner and movie at City Walk? I love that idea

momandsean - my DH and I saw Blue Man in Chicago, and it was very entertaining. We have always wanted to take our two boys to see them, but since we're bringing their two friends along ont his trip, this just isn't the right time for it. I'd love to see them in Vegas too. Hmmm. . . sounds like a good reason to go to Vegas

Remember that the pools have Dive in Movies. Different hotels have them on different nights. Since you can pool hop, this might be a good way to see the other hotels, and see a movie at the same time, for free. Oops. I just assumed you are staying onsite. Ignore that suggestion if you aren't!!!

Definitely hang out at citywalk though.

We are there 4/30 to 5/4 and are going to take advantage of the pool hopping . :thumbsup2

We are also going to do some walking through city walk and well after the parks sitting at the pool will be nice . I have a DD who will be sweet 16 while we are there . Thus the reason for the trip. So me , myfriend and two teenage girls . Should be fun getting up in the morning .:rotfl2: :lmao:

we love to just hang out at CW
We also like to go visit the other resorts, just walk around and check things out, look through the gift shops etc.

Since you aren't staying onsite, I would take the boat over to PBH and eat at Sal's Deli and listen to the opera singers and then tour around the hotel. It is the coolest place with all kinds of little hidden corridors. Then walk over to Hard Rock and tour that hotel and the gift store and have ice cream at Emack and Bolios. Walk back to citywalk, and then over to RPH. Tour there, and take the boat back to citywalk. That is a full night!!!

If you want to get away from the hotel and parks for a night, here's a website to all kinds of other things you may enjoy. It's called Adventures in Florida, and they have coupons for the events and shows listed. Just Google it. I can't post links yet. =o(

There are a lot of things listed that you won't be able to do for an evening out, but there are other things like dinner shows on the list, too. If you like horses, you may want to go to Arabian Nights. The food wasn't great, but the show was fun.

damo - that sounds like the perfect night

tinkertude - I will definitely google that website

metro - thanks for the help on dinner and movie night.

As for dive-in movies, I thought those were just in the summer? Anyway, we are not staying on-site, but will be touring the hotels and enjoying some of their restaurants.

I'll be sure to write a TR upon return.
Take care everyone.

damo, as I was writing this down, I noticed that it says to walk back to CityWalk and then over to RPH. Tour there, and take the boat back to CityWalk. It sounds like we are already at CityWalk. Is there a typo here? Sorry, but I've not been there and don't know the layout of everything.
Thanks.

The hotels are not at Citywalk. Hard Rock is about a 5 minute walk, Royal Pacific Hotel is about a 7 minute walk and Portofino is about a 12 minute walk.

City Walk is just outside the entrance to both parks. It is between the parks and the parking garage
