Our daughter will just be two. We are looking for hotel that is close to Disneyworld. We do not want to be too far away. What is the closest hotel to the park itself?

Are talking about closest to the Magic Kingdom? That would be Poly, Grand Floridian or Contemporary. But don't count out the Wildreness Lodge. Since you are new here Have you thought about getting a Guide book. Passporter is awesome. And you will get some great tips here also.

The closest resorts to the Magic Kingdom are the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. The GF is one stop away on the monorail, whereas the resort monorail goes from the Contemporary to the TTC, Poly, GF, THEN Magic Kingdom.

Did the above answer your question, or are you looking for the nearest resort not on Disney property?

I think WDW might be bigger than you think. You might want to check out a map and then decide which park/s you'll be visiting. WDW is comprised of 4 parks now: Magic Kingdom (what you are probably think of as WDW), Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's MGM studios. These are all about 15-25 minutes or so apart by bus. These are all DISNEY properties though and all have the magic! Hope this helps!

The Contemporary is a short 10 minute walk to Magic Kingdom. We found it was a nice walk with a stroller. Grand Floridian is closest to MK via the monorail going to the park, but you will have three monorail stops when returning. You can take a boat back to the GF, but you may have to fold up your stroller (I'm not sure with the resort boats). The Grand Floridian is considerably more expensive than the Contemporary.

When both our kids were two, we stayed at the Swan/Dolphin hotel, which is very close to Epcot and MGM. You can walk or take a boat to both parks. You don't have to fold up your stroller on the Epcot/MGM boats. The Swan and Dolphin are on Disney properties, but not owned by Disney. They often offer special discounts that aren't available at the Disney resorts.

To get more information about Disney World, I would recommend allearsnet.com and The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, which should be available at your local library and most bookstores. Good luck!!
