THANKS!!! :sunny:

We just did the Romance for 2. It looked exactly like that. Robes are heavier/warmer than expected but very nice.

Whoa... $50 for decorations? I'd say 50% of that cost is labor! You can make your own magnet and decorations for pennies then buy yourself a souvenir towel in the gift shop for $20-$30.

Another vote for Romance for 2. I surprised my husband with it and he was thrilled (as was I). We wear the robes ALL the time. I'm so tempted to order this again for our next cruise but we don't really need 4 robes lol (it would actually be 6 as we both have non-dcl robes, too).

I just got a romance (for 1) and was thrilled with the robe and the sparkling wine! Robe is really soft and squishy. I haven't done those specific decorations but we did get the Star Wars decorations package with the throw and pillow and loved it! I think their decorations are worth it if it is in your budget :) They can be reused for future cruises if you wanted, they use magnets now to hang them from ceiling. I have done the birthday decorations in the past and been pleased too.

My son and I travel together, and I am considering purchasing the romance for 1 package because of the robe. I was concerned about the quality, so am happy to read your response! We are doing a very merrytime cruise and I am also considering the christmas themed in room decorations, as well as bringing lights to decorate our verandah door.. So in your opinion they did not look tacky? That was my only worry. I am NOT a fan of clutter..at all...lol...so looking at these kind of worries me if I will be able to deal with it for 7 days. But I do think my son would be very excited to have them.

Thanks so much for all of the replies!! :) The Romance package is on my list for our cruise in October out of NYC. We might have a couple of chilly nights sitting on the verandah until we sail south enough to warmer weather.

This might be an odd question, but can someone who has one of the robes take a picture of the logo on the outside of the robe (not the label) so that it shows whether it's embroidered or silk-screened, and also would show the fabric? I'm wondering if they are the waffle-weave type or more plush type. Thanks. :D

I could be wrong but I believe that you are not allowed to bring that type of item on the ship. Just a heads up.

  • Seasonal and/or celebratory light bulb strings

The robes have silver thread embroidery. The robes are fuzzy, not waffle weave. They are not cotton.

Ok ok thanks for letting me know!
I guess things changed. A friend of mine said she always brought the battery operated lights. But she hasn't gone on a few years. Oh well, not the end of the world. I think I'll just save the Christmas decorations for our DW portion.

Any idea how far ahead we can book our stateroom gifts? I noticed the cruise robe in the Disney Store has gone up to $130. Wanted to get this booked in case prices were the increasing on this package as well. I'm cruising the first week of October and on-line check-in for us is Jul 5.

Just FYI...I requested 2 robes when we got to our room. Our SR hostess brought them to us. They are spa style robes with a soft terry on the outside and a smooth cotton (sheet material) on the outside with the DCL Logo. I wore it for the 2 weeks were on board and then left it in the SR and no charges to our account.

If you want robes to take home, the package is great. If you just want a robe while you are onboard without packing yours from home, your SR attendant can get them for you to use during your stay.

The robe provided by the room attendant, is it the same robe as in the romance package?

Thanks,
Kate

The Romance package is a fuzzy, non-cotton robe. There is a DCL logo in Silver thread. There are two loops on each side so the belt can be higher or lower to accommodate varying height.

We like the two robes we purchased. They wash well, still look nice (got them last year), and are warm but not heavy (they should not add much weight to your luggage).

You can search this forum as the robes and romance package have been discussed before.
