We are looking for a new guide because we are planning on adding on this year. We do not care for our current guide.

Please PM me your recommendation and why you love them, and their contact information.

Thanks!

Kristine

I guess we need to know just what you are looking for in a guide before someone can recommend one that will meet your needs. Basically, they are salespeople, all other transactions are handled by Member Services and Member Accounting.

Personally, I don't look to a guide to be my best friend, or to call me everytime I visit WDW. I do expect him to return my calls in a timely manner if I contact them for an add-on, and to send the paperwork quickly. I expect them to be courteous, and handle the sales transaction professionally.

I look at them like my car dealership. I like my salesman, and return to him when it is time to replace my car. I go to the service dep't. for service issues, and the salesman when I buy.

Other people seem to want a rapport with their guide.

Well, the reason we are looking for a new guide is because we had a rather unpleasent interaction with him the last time we wanted to add on. Basically he either lied to us to get us to add on, or did not know what he was talking about and gave us VERY wrong information. So wrong that we ended up cancelling the add-on because it was not at all what we thought we were getting. So that is #1. for us, someone that we can trust to know exactly what is going on.

But we would like more of a rapport with ours as well. I will admit. It would be nice if they gave us a little acknowledgement now and again other than when we want to buy more.

We've got a great guide - Cynthia Curinton

Our original guide left the company and we did not like the replacement guide - same situation, he was rude and misinformed when we went to do an add-on.

Cynthia has been great. She was very professional when we added-on, arranged a van to pick us up from EPCOT to meet and sign the papers in person when we were on the trip and even helped expedite things to get our developer's points in time to make reservations at AKV before they opened to non-owners (we added on days before).

We get an email with tips and information before each trip and a call to welcome us home and make sure we are satisfied with our stays every time we visit WDW.

HIGHLY reccommend her. She is great.

Nobody wants to recommend their guide?

Kristine

PATTIE "B" DOUGLAS, She is great.Tell her Don sent us. She will know who I am by the "B" in her name. I would give her "TOP SHELF" :thumbsup2rating.She has been our guide since Greg Coots left DVC in 1999.

Gib McCain is a great guide. Got stuff done in a quick, friendly efficient manner. Keeps in touch to offer the DVC specials but not pushy..

we've been happy with Todd Beardon for 2+ years. responsive, informed, friendly.

We loved our guide, Linda O'Grady but after our last trip. I am tempted to ask for a new guide as well. Long story but very disappointing.

Todd is our guide as well and he is FABULOUS!! He even calls us every time we're at home to say hi and we usually make an effort to go and visit with him for a few. He is extremely knowledgeable and he is very low pressure. He does not call and hassle and he keeps in touch regularly when there are new offers available. I highly recommend him!

Jim McCoy has been and is always there for any of our needs. He gets back to you pronto and if he can't answer your question he will find the right person who can. We've recommended him to other DVC members who were also unhappy with their guide. Whenever we are at WDW we make a point to visit him-my DH loves the ice cream !!!!!!!

He's ours as well. the first time I called DVC, I was paired w/ someone I didn't ask for and she never sent out the info she said she would and was terrible about communication like you describe. A few DISers recommended a few guides, Gib was the first one I tried from that and I was PLEASED at how everything went and he's on-the-spot but not pushy. :thumbsup2

Hubert VanAlphen.... is our guide. He is very responsive and upfront. We have always gotten quick responses with questions as well as just a note every now and then touching base base to see if we need anything in the add on department. He is a very laid back no pressure type of guy.

I can highly recommend Randy Kruger - very professional, knowledgeable, quick response but low-pressure. He leaves us a welcome home call when we arrive and sends us 'trip tip' emails before trips. My sis has also used him for a few add ons and loves him, too :thumbsup2

Jim is my guide as well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone -- in fact, I have recommended him quite a bit. He's also an owner and is a real people person - I really enjoyed talking to him before and during our purchase.

But as the others have said -- I haven't needed to talk to him since - I'm not really looking for any type of contact unless we decide to purchase more points.
