Looking for Most Quiet Resort

port orleans french quarter was Super quiet in December. Seems like there were lots of ppl but never heard anyone. VERY peaceful

Since no one mentioned it, I'm going to - the wildnerness lodge is so peaceful and just lovely, and breathtaking, I"m sure you will just love it. Spend the extra money because I have to say it is just worth having MK in your backyard. But I found it to be so peaceful. The only "noise" you will hear are the ferry boat horns but I found them to be charming.
And then you will hear the water parade on the lagoon but that does not last very long. If you are up high on the upper flows it really is very tranquil.

I would also suggest OKW...if you rent DVC pts it would probably be less expensive than a mod. But if you decide CSR...we'll be there end of Sept into early Oct.....say Hi to girl talking about everything disney being trailed by her boyfriend nodding his head and asking so when do I get my pool day...lol

At WL, you can hear the MK fireworks and Whispering Canyon Cafe (if in the main lobby area); don't know if that would be a problem.

OKW is quiet, but you would not want to be right next to a bus stop.

Off in the wings of AKL should be very quiet. So I suppose at most resorts it comes down to: location, location, location.

I agree a lot depends on the time of year you visit disney, plus the location of your room. One time at BC we had a room that took us forever to get to (it seemed...), but once we got there we were so isolated that we heard nothing. Another time at BC, we had a room that was in a main traffic zone and therefore we heard lots of people, kids, running down hallways, etc. So, no matter which resort you choose, a lot will depend on the location of your room and also how busy the resort is.

As far as a moderate resort that has a more "tranquil" theme, I'd say POR has a great relaxing theme. The other moderate we've tried is CBR and we felt that theme was more upbeat, sort of bright and beachy, so I wouldn't personally classify that one as quiet.

As far as deluxes, we've tried most of them and I'd say AKL had a relaxing feel to it. It's somewhat isolated and does a good job of making you feel like there is nothing around it.

Some of the deluxes are geared more towards adults and therefore can seem quieter than other resorts. YC comes to mind as one of those. The lobby area is quite elegant and we don't see kids running around on a normal basis. The GF also has an elegant feel to the lobby, nice quiet music playing, etc.

I agree with the pps' who said POFQ. By far the quietest, most relaxed resort we have tried. Plus, it is small so even a "quiet location" request won't put you out in the boonies far from all the amenities. It also has a lovely boat ride that takes you to DTD if you are planning on visiting there.

Tip: Put it in your room requests that you want a quiet location. We have had great luck getting nice quiet rooms using that request.

Have fun!

From our experience, we've found pretty much all the moderates to be fairly quiet. The only time it can get loud at a moderate, I think, is at the food courts or main pools, which can be quite busy. But the rooms themselves were always very quiet from our experiences. Have a great trip!

We just got back from GF and it was pretty quiet (except for the boat horn every 20 minutes haha). Just bring a fan with you because you never know what type of neighbors you'll have no matter where you stay.

Thanks so much everyone for all the information! You all are great!:yay:

Looks like the majority of people who posted would stay at POFQ, CSR, AKL, OKW or YC. Now, I just need DH to let me know which one he would prefer from that list. I will also remember to ask for a quiet room, away from pools and lobbies, lol. Thanks again! :thumbsup2

2005- All Star Music Resort
1999- Wilderness Lodge
1992- Dixie Landings (Port Orleans - Riverside)

We've stayed at most of the resorts at one time or another. None of the values are quiet, IMHO. We've also been at POR when school groups were visiting and that kept things "lively"!

The Poly is pretty quiet, as is the GF.

OKW is also wonderfully tranquil, as is SSR.
