Looking for Most Quiet Resort

I've never stayed there, but I hear all the time that POFQ is very quiet! From my own experience, the FW cabins were really, really quiet (we never heard another soul) and the times we've stayed Woods View at the WL our rooms were very quiet. I also stayed once in a Courtyard View, and there was a little noise from the pool area but not all night long. At Poly, Tahiti is very quiet (as it's pretty far from the action), as is the side of Tokelau that doesn't overlook the pool.

I agree with those who've suggested POFQ. That's one of our favorite resorts and we like it because it's a nice break from the madness at the parks. The resort is small so there aren't as many people running around and it just has a very peaceful, quaint feel to it. I highly recommend it and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

If you decide to upgrade to a deluxe, I would suggest AKL. We have stayed there twice and love it. It's very quiet and the rooms there are super dark at night. I swear my best sleep ever is at the AKL! It also seems to run a little cheaper than the other deluxe hotels.

Have a great trip!

I have only stayed on CSR for a conference but it was very quiet and only a double level I think and out door entrances so no hallways.

Quietest room we ever had - anywhere - was the Garden View Garden Wing room at the CR in Aug 2007. The only noise we ever heard inside the room, other than of our own making, was the Water Pagent, when our door was open.

A cabin at Fort Wilderness is the most quiet. No neighbors on any side of you.

At any of the other resorts, you can request a quiet room or a quiet area but it all depends on your neighbors. Sometimes you luck out, sometimes you don't!

I know there are a lot of opinions of things, but to suggest that the Pop is one of the quitest.

I found POR to be very peaceful. We stayed in the Mansions there a few years ago in mid-September. It was very quiet and tranquil. Of course, the main pool was busy most days, but the quiet pool right near our building was exactly that. With all its lush landscaping and beautiful courtyards, I think it might be exactly what you are looking for.

Another vote for FW cabins - never heard another soul and it's sooo peaceful and laid back. There's nothing better than sitting on the deck enjoying a beverage after a long day at the parks!

I can say that CR and Pop are not the quietest resorts I've ever stayed at. POFQ gets my vote for quiet followed by OKW. At CSR on our last trip we could hear the kids next door, baby crying and older kid telling Mom that the baby was crying. I'm not sure how she couldn't hear the baby cry unless she wasn't in the room. :confused3

A cautionary note about deluxe resorts: According to the Unofficial Guide, because these resorts use interior corridors, the door-seals are not required to be weatherproof. The 2008 edition (the newest I own) indicated that these rooms were noisier than the moderate or value resorts.

I found this to be true. At WL, you could hear anyone walking by your room. It is like a house - light and noise came under the door. At ASMusic, we really couldn't hear much from outside except on our second trip when we were near the pool (music and a DJ, not pool guests, made a lot of day noise). (On our first trip, our room was very quiet except for some foot traffic during the day to the parking lot.)

Quiet rooms are usually secluded rooms. Check a map of a resort and request a secluded location.

I believe it depends on the timing of when you are staying at WDW. Let's face it, any WDW resort hotel would be noisy if you are staying during a holiday week, spring break, etc.

But we have stayed at WDW, during these times.

My recommendations, is to request a room, furthest away from anything. And a check-in, again mention it, and ask to see where you are located.

No issues for us at, BWI, Riverside, YC, FW, or WL (make sure you are not in a room over looking the lobby). Again, the further you have to walk away from the lobby -- the quiet.

Worse for noise, has been the BC, and the Poly. Never stayed at a Value.

My suggestion would be Port Orleans French Quarter!!!!

I would agree with that - and also recommend the Swan. Of the Swan and the Dolphin, the Swan is a quainter, quieter type atmosphere in a fabulous location. (we personally prefer the hustle and the bustle of the Dolphin!)

Wherever you end up, please make sure you request that your room NOT overlook any pool area. When we stayed at Old Key West and Beach Club Villas, we overlooked the so-called "quiet" pools. Well, guess where everyone goes when the main pools close... to the quiet pools. Til midnight! Ugh.

That being said had we not been close to a pool at OKW, we found that resort to be very low-key. But to (FINALLY!) answer your question, the quietest resort I have every stayed at (and we usually stay Deluxe or DVC) is Coronado Springs. I would say I had the best night's sleep there. Happy Planning! :goodvibes

I agree with both these suggestions (EDIT: this was a reply to the person who suggested POFQ for a mod or AKL for deluxe). We did 10 days/9 nights at POFQ and heard people exactly once; 7 days/6 nights at AKL (2nd floor, Giraffe Trail, so a fairly busy part of the resort) and didn't hear or see a single other person while we were in our room (except while we were on the balcony of course).

By the way, our room was just above the smoking area, which sounds like a negative, but we actually discovered that meant there were almost no bugs on our balcony (as opposed to anywhere else, it was very buggy last week) and since there were only ever 1-2 smokers, the faint smell was a great trade-off for no bugs. It was a pool-view room but looked more over the hot tub which was usually empty. We didn't hear anything at all from the pool while we were inside and whoever said it's quite dark inside at night is right--several times I woke up and thought it was the middle of the night until I looked at the clock.

When we stayed at POR it was extremely quiet - we requested upper floor - hardly heard another soul the entire trip.:)

We stayed in CBR's Aruba building #56 last week & didn't hear a peep from anyone. Come to think of it, we hardly even saw other people in our building. It was incredibly peaceful & quite! MUCH quieter than our trip to POP in March 2009.

I'm quite a light sleeper so tend to pick up on noise, but POFQ was the best for not hearing anything, apart from the time I had a room opposite the pool lol Also, CSR - I was in the Casitas and felt like I was in my own private house, no noise at all.

I've also not had issues at BWI or YC, I did however have issues at the GF (was in the main building), could hear everything including including the guy in the room next door constantly on his mobile phone, some details of which were very personal  :rotfl:
