I graduated from Villanova in 1995 and absolutely loved it! The teachers were wonderful, and the campus is gorgeous. It's centrally located to eveything, although I do agree with the poster about driving. Life got a lot easier junior year when I had my car. I think it's the best of both worlds for location - if you like the city, and choose to go, you can be at 30th Street Station within 30 minutes (if I remember correctly). I actually only went to Philly about 10 times over 4 years, simply b/c I personally don't love "cities" (I'm from Long Island and haven't been to NYC in 3 years). The surrounding area is gorgeous. There's a huge mall close by which I was at a lot, and the train service was good. I went home to NY 2x/month to see my now husband, and it was no problem - always felt very safe, and I took 4 different trains to save $. I wasn't a big partyer, and felt very comfortable there. Most of my friends were huge partyers, and also had a great time there, so it works for all kinds of people. I was a marketing major, and thought the curriculum was challenging - I really enjoyed my classes and teachers. It was tough academically, but very rewarding. I've since married, had 2 little ones and am currently a stay at home mom, but my friends who graduated with me all have great jobs (mine's great too )
The train station near St Joe's IS Overbrook (where I grew up!!). I'd estimate it to be about a mile from St Joe's going South on City Ave (which is also Rt 1).
