Looking for ideas - military tickets that may go unused

I recently returned from a family trip to Disney World. Prior to the trip I looked at all ticket options to try to find the best available as even a few bucks on 11 tickets adds up quick. The option we ended up getting was to get 6 military tickets (the maximum number an active member can purchase) and the remainder were just the standard tickets. At this point the trip is completed and I'm wrapping things up. On Thanksgiving it was brought to my attention that there was a snafu and the tickets that were initially purchased were for Disney Land. This is problematic because apparently Disney won't refund the tickets and the person in the military is only going to be active for a few more months during which taking a trip to California is not an option. So, does anyone have any ideas?

How was it not noticed during your trip?
Or was it, & you ended up buying additional standard tickets at the park?
I would email guest services @ Disneyland to find out if the tix can be applied to a future purchase. As lanejudy said, they probably can. If they give the 👍— make sure you take military ID (or at least DD214) when you do finally get to go, to show that when the tix were purchased you were entitled to them. Disney typically requires proof at the time of use that you are entitled to the tix… so I would expect the same standard to apply when you use them as credit toward another purchase.

Good luck.
Thank your family for their service!
