I wonder if the Hyatt hotels management knows that pools sell rooms. The one in Scottsdale, AZ has almost 2 ACRES of swimming pool! It's like having Wet 'n' Wild in your hotel back yard! I wish Disney would do something similar.

Omni Resort Orlando at Champions Gate has a huge pool area with a "lazy river"- really like a mini waterpark.

The Royal Pacific Resort at Universal has an awesome pool. They have a AAA rate available and during non-peak times offer some good deals.

Ya think? ;) Some of the WDW pools are quite nice, but typically not as good as the upscale off-site offerings. Slides, lazy rivers, and even wave pools will become much more common in refurbs and newer resorts. A great resort pool really can be a major part of a vacation's success - I know it is one of the major consideration when I book a vacation hotel.

I looked at the NICK resort . and i also read that it cost $20 extra perperson to get into the pool area, anyone know if this is still true?/

Does look like a cool place, although id o not know how well i could relax here, with SOO many kids around!

Dizzi,
The $20 extra is for a pool view . They don't charge to swim in the pools, the pools are a perk that comes with your stay. The pools are very nice, we like to stay on the Lagoon Pool side, it's the one with the giant bucket that dumps water over the water slides. And in the summer there is the Dive-In movie which is fun and the poolside Nick games. Also the buffet restaraunt has pretty good food.My kids love the place. And if you have AAA or are a Holiday Inn Priority Club member you can get discounts on room stays. If you make a reservation tell them you don't want a pool view but you'd like to have a room on the Lagoon Pool side . Hope this helps.Have fun.

Blessed Be,
Tina

If you aren't going to the parks I'd also suggest Regal Palms in Davenport. They have 3 or 4 bedroom townhouses. The pool area really is terrific. They have hot tubs a slide and nice lazy river. There is also a bar/restaurant right at the pool area.

They are self-catering units, however, but for the price they rent for they can't be beat. There is also a Publix supermarket next door with a new Applebees and a Chinese Restaurant.

We are staying there again in June. If you want, I can pm you the link of an owner we have used in the past.

Heather, do they rent them for just 2 nights, we will only need them for 2 nights be fore we leave for the cruise?

They do rent them nightly. The owner we have used before is great... if you want I can PM you his contact info.

If you prefer, you can book direct at www.regalpalmsorlando.com. They also have AAA rates just as an FYI.

Liki Tiki Village.....

Just back.... one week ago....mmmmm... it was wonderful, one of my major decision makers was the pool. I have four kids, 16, 13, 6 and 4. LTV has a "water lagoon" 8-10 slides/tubes, shooting water, a bit of wave thing going on, some zero entry areas for the littler ones, a basketball and volley ball net in the pool for the bigger ones. I paid $700 for 5 nights, relatively reasonable. The pool really rocked. I would do it again for that feature alone. It was also a "time share" though dated, good enough villas, mini golf, basketball, paddle and bumper boats, surry bikes.... for what your looking for, cost, time, etc.... I'd say GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed!

My DB and DSIL stayed at caribe royale and raved about the pool, they loved it so much they went back for another trip and plan on returning in the fall. They also said it was a short ride to the disney parks.
