Hey Denny,

I know you've had trouble sitting at the 'puter, but I'm hoping to catch you. I need some advice from an experienced Missouri camper, and I think you're even from the area we will be traveling through.

If you get a chance to see this, can you PM me?

Thanks, and hope the new Chiropractor is helping! :cool1:

Not Denny but,

We were planning a trip last year to Branson and this is the CG that the consensus was the best in the area.

We're deciding between Cooper Creek and Table Rock SP. They seem to get consistently the best reviews.

We can do the drive in a single shot both ways, but we have kids who aren't used to riding in the car all day, and the puppy is still trying to decide if she likes car riding at all. Better to break the driving into short days until we get more experience, I think. :drive:

Wow, Cooper Creek really looks like a nice campground. I especially like that you can rent a boat slip - sure beats just beaching your boat on the shoreline. I can't believe the rates, under $30 a day is a great price.

Rob;

Don't know much about the Branson area campgrounds, however all the MO state parks have first rate facilities...at least the several I've been In.

I'm also aware that the US Core of Engineers maintains a campground in the
area.

Don't know if this helps or not.

Actually, I was wondering if you knew anything about the Basswood RV Park, just north of KC, and/or the Big Red Barn RV Park near Carthage. We'll probably stop at KC on the way down. We'll leave in the afternoon and get in there about dinner time. Gives us a short run into Branson the next day.

I was thinking about stopping in Carthage coming back, but I'll probably just come on back to KC. This way none of the drives will be long, and we get home Sunday afternoon, so the kids aren't coming home late when they have school the next day.

I haven't been to either of these 2 places before, and just wanted to make sure they were as good as they look on the web. (Now all I have to do is get the TT out of mothballs and operational in time for the trip).

You're traveling to my old neighborhood! Cooper Creek is a great place in Branson....I love Branson! As for the other places in Missouri...I don't know. I believe Carthage isn't too far from Branson, though. I don't know...my geography is a little fuzzy.

Anyhow....HAVE FUN!!!!!

I'll say Hi to the place for you Ami. I haven't been there since DW and went for a few days on our honeymoon. She went there for several days earlier this year on a tour with her Mom. That's what got her thinking about it when we were trying to decide what to do for Spring Break.

If were any closer to Florida we'd be at the Fort, crowds or no crowds.

Hey !! We have a Carthage in TM. too !! It's the home to that over grown stick in the mud, you know, that guy who's always whining how everyone should live like cave men to preserve energy, (except for him and his friends), because the earth is gonna fry to a crisp.

ANYWAYS, there is a campground there that is very nice too,,called Defeated Creek,,
but no dinner-theaters.

So where is TM? Is that what it sounds like when you try to say "Tennessee" after too many beers and a mouth full of pretzels? :lmao:
