Hi Girls - I am back! I know I logged in on the 30th to say Hi, I'm exhausted and I'll be back when I catch up - but now that I'm caught up I can see it's not there!:confused3 Maybe I am more jet lagged than I thought:lmao: Coming back this way from the East is always hard. That 3 hours kills me. I've been waking up at 4 or 4:30 every day except yesterday, when I slept til 6 like I needed to. I was awake at 4:30 today.

We had a nice time - great weather - except I was cold the first couple of days - but I bought a cute sweatshirt at Beach Club, and it was still warmer than here!:)

I came home to a crazy busy week, so I don't know how much I'll be here, but wanted to check in when I can.

Kara - Ally's party looked so fun! You are the fun mom for sure! Sorry about the gymnastics snafu. I hope Ally had a good time with the outlaws! What about the baby? Did I miss some news?

Cammie - great score on the tics!

Jillian - cute doggie! Luca is getting to be such a little man!

Lorrie - Hope you are feeling better. That swollen throat is scarey. An EMT told me they worry about that because if your throat swells shut they can't get an airway in for you.

Debbie - sounds like you are doing better except for the weather!:thumbsup2 Maybe it will warm up more. We drove home in snow. It is warming up a little this week, but no major sunshine or anything. Oh, and OUCH! I hope your leg feels better.

Tessa - sorry for your troubles at school.

Laura - darn it! I hate it when things happen that screw up your plans. What if you had bought your tickets? Is there a way you could go anyway? I want to be your trip planner!:rotfl2:

Jim has been gone for a couple of days, and the house is still a mess- he comes home today, I would like to have it all cleaned up - we'll see - we can't all be Martha! I'm out of town tomorrow and Saturday, coming home to do Mark's birthday Sat night. My DSIS is coming this weekend - staying with my P's. I have an appointment Sunday, and the kids will be out of town 3 days next week job hunting - leaving the babies here with us.

We leave for Vegas on the 14th, and come home the 19th. Jim leaves for 10 weeks on the 20th. You may have to get me out of a looney bin when April is over!:scared:

Hi to everyone else - Erin, Sewer - haven't heard from the Pams, or Keahi or Ohana or Tina for awhile

Welcome to MouseMom09! Jump in - we are a nice bunch!

Okay, gotta run! I have started my TR on the same thread, just a new name.

OK, so I've started planning a trip for September - remember, our passes are blocked out from mid-June through mid-August so I'll be jonesing for a trip by then!

We can rent DVC points and stay at BCV with NO free dining plan - I figured in two TS lunches, the rest CS. I also added in the cost of snacks (which we may or may not get through the trip) and it is only $40 MORE than staying at Pop with free dining! I did it for 4 nights mid-Sept. I may actually change to October to avoid hurricane season.

But ever since Jeff heard this story on the radio about renting DVC points, he's like, no way are we buying when we can stay for $10/pt and we usually go in off season anyway! The room only at BCV would be $480 (we're planning Sun-Thurs if we rent pts to avoid the higher weekend charge) which is only $120/night! the rack rate now for values is $125!!! How nuts is that!

do tell how the renting goes. That would be a great way to "upgrade" at a lower cost. That will be tough a whole summer without Disney. LOL

Have a great trip up to Ohio.

The truck will be $300 to fix. I still maybe able to sneak the budget around and make the vegas thing work. I remember we don't have tution in May or June. Whoo-hooo. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

good morning everyone. I'll probably not be on much today. We have bad weather moving in starting at noon. We're in the severe area too, so that is always fun. Two years ago we had to get a roof replaced, etc because of hail damage from one of these things. That storm was the same type - they started warning people about two days prior.

Well, sold my wagon. Looks like an outdoor toy and a little tykes swingset are about to be sold. I am really liking CL! And those were just off people who had WANT adds posted. I haven't even listed anything yet! :rotfl2:

I'm feeling so blah today. The meds made AF shift back a week - which means I'll have that to deal with at Disney next month. :headache: Not happy about that.

I'm going to get some groceries today and try to get in before the rain comes. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Be careful with the weather - they are calling it the most severe tornado outbreak of the season so far. It is just going to miss us - originally they were calling for us to get it too, but I have the radar pulled us and the north side of the city may get it, but we seem to be in the clear so far.....

Do you have basements? We haven't had a basement since we lived in Ohio. In SC the clay was too hard for them - the most you might see would be walk out basements if your house was built on a hill, and in Florida, forget it! We're so close to sea level that building a basement would be like living in Atlantis!!! :rotfl2:

Oh, and if you guys want a REALLY good radar website, go to www.weatherunderground.com and plug in your zip code. Then click on weather stations. From there click on personal weather stations and you'll get current conditions from someone who may live a couple blocks away. And the way the radar is set up, you can actually see the severity of the storm, how fast it is moving, and which way it is moving. I love using this - just keep it up on my desktop when bad weather is around.....

I'm here. I'm here. I'm actually all over the DIS today - sooooo far behind in my TR and all of the other ones I subscribe to.

You know what part of the problem has been? The ex has missed ALOT of his time with the girls these past few weeks so I don't feel like I've had a significant break - which leads to playtime on the DIS. He's not going to see them again until the 16th because he's going to WDW with wifey's family. Lauren's appalled - they have NO ADRs booked! As she says, "They don't do it right!" :lmao:

Oh - and Lauren's now wearing mascara and eyeliner!:scared1: I was the last mom to hold out. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until high school but some of her friends have been wearing it since last year. The rest followed this year. I'm not proud of myself for giving in but I did feel bad for her. She wears it lightly and it does look really pretty. With her new haircut and now this, she's loving the way she looks - and she's not afraid to admit it.

Good luck to all of you under tornado watch. Stay safe and keep us posted.

Cammie - I want to see a pic of Lauren's new look! My mom started letting me wear mascara only when I was 14, and she was considered "strict" back then. As long as we're not talking blue eyeshadow and dark pink blush, I'm sure she looks great! ;) Ease up there mama bear! :rotfl2:

Yeah, like I can talk. I made it clear to Ally NO dangly earrings until she's older, so guess what MIL bought her? Yup! Nothing big, just little danglies, but I made it perfectly clear to MIL when she asked if Ally could have earrings. I said NO hoops and NO dangles yet. So she got her dangles AND hoops!!!! :headache:

I'm seriously thinking of not allowing Ally to spend a week with them this summer. Especially cause BSIL is wanting to send her 5 year old the same week. Honestly, MIL cannot handle it. And FIL does nothing but sit around and drink. So he's no help. I need to talk about this with Jeff because I really think his mom is losing it, and I'm not joking. She's a spaz all the time, can't remember stuff (like Ally's gymnastics) and basically just does whatever she wants now. She's the type of person that would take the kids to the store, run into someone she knows and start chatting away for 10 minutes, look back, and the kids would be gone. Seriously.

that is a bit scary. my mil is a flake but not that bad. good luck

do you guys remember any of the places that sell discount wdw tix? my friend is going in may and is looking for a good deal. she is staying off property. I haven't even started with her on ADRs.

Man, I see you guys have posted, but I haven't read.

REMIND ME TO GET A WEATHER RADIO WHEN ALL THIS IS OVER!

I took a nap for the first time in years (I feel THAT bad - headache). Nicolas was so sweet to sit & watch TV. i woke up in the middle of all this crap starting to fire up. Came up to unplug stuff - looks like we are getting going earlier than they thought. I can't wait for it to end tonight at 11pm.

I'll check in with you guys tomorrow. I'm unplugging everything I can right now. Time to look for all the storm goodies too. Wish me luck! :headache:

Yeah for another trip! :cheer2:

Tell Jeff to rent the points this year - they are pretty much doing away with the cheaper weekdays next year. A week's stay will still be the same, but 5 weeknights will not cost 2 points more a day, and the weekend nights will now be 5 points less each night. Well, I guess maybe that makes your choice of days more flexible.:confused3 We will usually stay a week, although this last trip was 5 days at SSR to use up some points in the cheapest way.

I hope things go okay in the bad weather - stay safe! I'm sorry your meds aren't your best friend right now. I know I've had a hard time staying on track lately - getting old.:rolleyes1

mousesavers.com lists all of the good deals out there, I guess. Also AAA has some great packages - might be worth joining.

Stay safe! We were supposed to have sunshine and 47 today, but it haws been mostly cloudy and it was snowing a little bit ago.

Hiya all.....

She's the type of person that would take the kids to the store, run into someone she knows and start chatting away for 10 minutes, look back, and the kids would be gone. Seriously.

Kara - my stepmother actually did this!!!! She was in charge of youngest - 5 FIVE!!!! at the time and was chatting away to someone and lost her in a large garden centre, we met up 5 min after and I asked where she was and LUCKILY at that very moment we had a tannoy announcement!! Stepmother was totally oblivious - couldn't understand why I was FUMING or why I never let her have sole charge of my children any more. I still get tears pricking my eyes just thinking about how I felt that day. So I fully understand your concerns even if you are just thinking "what if".

More bad news due to "credit crunch" this week - my hubby's brother (44) lost his job - redundancy after his whole working life has been spent with the same company. He even went there on work experience from high school - that is how committed he has been to them, now just cast aside... I do feel sorry for him - he left his wife and kids (and home really) last Easter, now jobless this Easter. We can just be there for him I guess.

Hey ho - off to work, the lady whose daughter stole the phone is officially leaving today and we are all going for a drink after work... mmmm...it is going to be "interesting" as no one else knows about things officially , but I feel irate at being brought into the whole situation as a supposed witness. Still, i can always have a civilised drink then leave.

Tessa

Tessa - that is so freakin scary!!! That is my biggest fear in life, that something would happen to Ally like that.....:sad2: I did actually talk to Jeff about his mom last night and he agrees that she needs to see a doctor. She's just totally clueless anymore.

Lorrie - hope y'all are okay! We had a couple storms dip into our area last night, but nothing like what you got. I saw where that truck was blown over on the highway - that's crazy!!! WAS it a tornado?

Oh, I have an inlaw dictionary I thought I would share with you. Jeff and I laugh each time we hear them say something like this. For instance, they don't get flustered or frustrated, they get FLUSTRATED. Drives me nuts. I was an English major in college so anytime someone butchers the language, I cringe.

So when they were in St Augustine, they took jeff's aunt/uncle out to lunch and MIL told me she got "her usual" which Jeff raised his eyebrows at, after all, they've only eaten at this place once before, and now suddenly she has a "usual." She said she got the shrimp "hobo." Uh, maybe po-boy? No, to her it was a hobo. I thought Jeff was gonna fall off his chair laughing when I told him!

Ya know those little square pieces of charcoal for the grill? Briquettes? Yeah, to her they are pronounced BRISKETS. As in the meat that goes ON the grill! I've got more, just need to think of them. But that's what I call my inlaw dictionary. :rotfl2:

:sad2: Unfortunately, I think it's gonna get worse before it gets better.... so sorry for your hubby's brother! Will he be able to find something else?

It seems we're all just holding our breath over here. Things are changing so dramatically, so fast. I'm a nervous wreck on a daily basis. I think our lives as we know them, or have known them, are about to change. I worry for Ally as she grows up. :sad1:

i need more!!!!!!!!!! A toilet that overflowed is what I woke up to this morning. somehow a 7 yr who knows that baby wipes don't go in the toilet filled it full. Brown water is never good at 6 am. Then the 2 yr sang a lovely song of screams. :scared1: Tim will be back tonight---thank the lord above!!

Hey all Well I got the job and EMT again full time:scared1: They talked me into it :lmao: We have decided to send Luca to school Tues and Thurs half days and I need to find a good daycare. I don't even know where to begin. :confused3

I am going to work Mon Wed Fridays 7a to 7p. The extra money will be good and will really help out and also will secure a trip to WDW in the fall. I am actually excited to go back I need the break and I think school will be good for Badookie.

Laura- I don't do bathroom problems if I was home alone I would be calling the plumber.

Lorrie I hope all is OK

Tessa- I wouldn't be able to talk if that happend to Badookie I think I would just loose it and ship them back to Italy.

Kara- Safe trip!

The in law invasion is 8 days away and I haven't cleaned a thing Mike will be helping.

Congrats Jillian!!!! The way we found our wonderful daycare was to just pop in unannounced and see how they responded to that. I think it will be GREAT for Luca, AND for you!!! For me, I still say I was a better mommy because our time together was better spent when I worked full time.

This story out of Binghamton, NY, is just so sad - what is the world coming to? Everyone is just losing their minds I think! It's a sad, scary place sometimes.....:sad2:

Jeff and Ally are out getting the oil changed now - should be home soon for dinner and official season opener of the pool party up at the clubhouse. We may go for an hour or so, but don't know about any swimming - it's gorgeous out but the water will still be coooooold! Then off to OHio tomorrow. We'll try to leave around 9ish and stop around 6ish. Then we'll get in around 1 on Sunday.

Packing for this trip is not nearly as much fun as packing for Disney.....

Hi Girls... I was having trouble logging on to the Dis. Don't know what that was about!
Welcome back Tammie! Glad you had fun. Can't wait to hear more and see your pix.

Laura...sorry about the truck and the toilet. At least they are in the past now and I know you will make your trips happen!
Tessa...sorry for the job loss on your side. It sucks for him. I guess all you can do is be there for him, right?

Kara...I was crying my head out just watching the scenes from Lost with Kate losing him a little and the saying good bye. I would NEVER put myself in a position with worrying about that when the kids weren't with me. I stress enough about it when they are in my care!!!

Lorrie...STAY SAFE sista!!!!! You can always text us if you want to let us know you are OK but is probably too late because you aren't seeing this. Also, sorry about AF. That will bite BUT who knows it might get all thrown off again, right?

Cammie....I feel for you. I am dealing with the same thing (kind of).here. Elizabeth's peers are all getting their ears pierced and I don't want her doing it at all yet! The good thing is she still thinks of the whole "parent Trap" scene with the apple and the needle and that is still working for me!

Jillian...congrats on the job! In this economy you are VERY lucky! Good for you! Good luck with it all.

STill haven't read - been trying to get ready for tomorrow. Had two CL people come by and sold a few things, so that was nice.

We're all safe here. It really wasn't as bad as it has been in other storms. I got a little spooked at the beginning because they had two funnel clouds in the air above the city below us that went right over. Nothing came down here though, but that is the one that dropped in the airport area. I don't know if national coverage picked that up or not, but lots of people lost power over it.

I hope everyone else stayed safe yesterday! I know Kara seemed to make it through okay, but I wasn't even aware FL was an issue - I need to watch the news more.

I'll check in later when I have more time - OH, I went back to blond highlights - and I am SO MUCH HAPPIER! Love the no gray look :)
