Do you have basements? We haven't had a basement since we lived in Ohio. In SC the clay was too hard for them - the most you might see would be walk out basements if your house was built on a hill, and in Florida, forget it! We're so close to sea level that building a basement would be like living in Atlantis!!! :rotfl2:
Not many. It is so humid here it is a mold issue - plus clay is a problem here too.

Oh - and Lauren's now wearing mascara and eyeliner!:scared1: I was the last mom to hold out. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until high school but some of her friends have been wearing it since last year. The rest followed this year. I'm not proud of myself for giving in but I did feel bad for her. She wears it lightly and it does look really pretty. With her new haircut and now this, she's loving the way she looks - and she's not afraid to admit it.

Good luck to all of you under tornado watch. Stay safe and keep us posted.
Cammie - I wouldn't worry about it. By her age, I WAS wearing dark blue eyeshaddow, Black Eyeliner, Mascara.... :sad2:. It sounds like she is wearing it the right way - to enhanse her features rather than to look .... well - whorish. :lmao::laughing:

i need more!!!!!!!!!! A toilet that overflowed is what I woke up to this morning. somehow a 7 yr who knows that baby wipes don't go in the toilet filled it full. Brown water is never good at 6 am. Then the 2 yr sang a lovely song of screams. :scared1: Tim will be back tonight---thank the lord above!!
:scared1:Been there, done that. Reminds me. I need to get a wet vac:rotfl2::lmao: I hope all is better today. PS - Do you have a professional "drain snake"? get one - Cuts my calls to the plumber in half! :rotfl2:

Hey all Well I got the job and EMT again full time:scared1: They talked me into it :lmao: We have decided to send Luca to school Tues and Thurs half days and I need to find a good daycare. I don't even know where to begin. :confused3
.
Congrats Jillian! I sware my SIL still does 3 12's and LOVES it! It gives her time to be an adult - and actually miss her child a bit rather than wait to escape! :rotfl2: I think it will do Luca good to get into a play group two days too. I was shocked how Nicolas wouldn't even tell me bye some days! He actually wanted to go home with the teacher one day rather than me! :lmao:

Lorrie...STAY SAFE sista!!!!! You can always text us if you want to let us know you are OK but is probably too late because you aren't seeing this. Also, sorry about AF. That will bite BUT who knows it might get all thrown off again, right?
Debbie - probably not. I'm pretty clockwork - but it is what it is. :confused3

AF side note... seems like we've talked here about AFs being worse after having a kiddo... well. Premsyn PMS and Paprin both have antihistimines in them. Come to find out, with me on two antihistimes AF is not buckets anymore. Just found that interesting and thought I would share for what it is worth.

Tomorrow is yard sale day. Woo hoo- decluttering! :yay::worship:

Crap! Forgot to call the magician person. :headache:

Well we changed our minds again. We are going to hire a cleaning person rather then send Luca to daycare and then we are going to send Luca to gymboree and another local playgroup. I am excited to go back I think it will make me a better mom. I hope anyway and it will give him and Mike a chance to get closer.

that is fantastic news that you got a job. Yes working does force you to prioritize things.

Lorrie--yes get that weather radio ASAP!!

Truck is done. The trip is offically off. The company decided against having it off campus..so they are flying everyone to Austin instead. I'm saying no to going there. I will just put my money in a savings account for the Disney trip.

Which brings me to my next question---do I ask if my parents want to go with? We get along ok but I'm not sure how they would do there. Then how do I handle the in-laws? I just think it might be a can of worms left better unopened. I have time to think about it.

Hey girls - I was out of town yesterday for Arbonne and back today, we had basketball and birthday for Mark tonight.

I hope Kara made it safely.

Congrats on the job, Jillian!:cheer2:

Laura, sorry about the bathroom - hope it wasn't too bad. Kids do the wierdest things. Also, sorry about the trip - but yeah for more disney money. As far as the 'rents going along, be sure you really, really want to vacation with them - it puts alot of stress on your relationship! I don't think you need to worry about the in-laws, just say "we've planned a trip with.....maybe we can plan one with you some time!" You aren't required to invite everyone!

Lorrie, glad your weather wasn't so bad.

Tessa, sorry about your BIL. Hope things get better for him soon.

Debbie, Erin, Cammie, everyone - Hi!:3dglasses I gotta get to my TR!

Got in today about 3ish. Yesterday sucked so bad!!! Should have made it a lot further than we did but we came to a dead stop and then ended up going 4 miles in abou 1/2 hr on I-95 in SC. Then had a traffic accident that held us up on I-26 in SC, THEN I was nearly sideswiped in NC, THEN got caught in MORE traffice on I-77 in NC so I ended up stopping about 2 hrs earlier. Well, I still drove from 9:15 until 5:30 but I should have been about 2 hrs furhter north. Stupid traffic and all those snowbirds heading home!!!

So I got in later today but all is well. Nearly got sidesiped AGAIN today in Charleston, WV by some idiot on a cell phone! Luckily, both times I was able to swerve into the other lane without getting hit!

OK, off to do dinner with the p's.

Do you have a weather radio? I am wondering which ones are good.

Congrats on the truck - and that sucks about the trip! I'm not much help on the parents part. I mean, I have not a great perspective, but if they would be the type to do their own thing and join you guys some of the time and then watch the girls a bit for you - that might be worth it. If you have to be together 24/7, I dunno how much Carlos would like that. But my situation is so very different. He says he can't be himself around other people like he can be when it is just us and that sorta ruins his vacation. Then again, we'd totally do it with his brother and SIL. I guess it depends on your relationship more than anything.

Jillian - congrats on the decision to go back to work. I think you would like it. I told Carlos I wish I had focused on medical when in school. The options you have on hours are just amazing!

Kara - sorry about the traffic, but glad you are safe!

We're on spring break this week and it is COLLLLLLLLLLLLD! Our high today is in the 30's! :scared1:

We had our yard sale this weekend. Just junk from the garage, my high chair, and we CLEARED $300 for the Disney trip!!!!

Debbie - I didn't price a thing! Just put it out, and as people asked - I named a price. If they made a face, the price got smaller. :rotfl2: I sold 95 percent of what I put out. I had a small 18x18x6 box that I filled with what was left. EVERYTHING ELSE SOLD! So put it out on tables girl!!!

Same here! With a nice cold drizzle added in - yuck!

Working from my sister's house now - she just took the kids bowling, so I have the place to myself. Well, me and two dogs, 3 cats, 3 rats, a turtle and who knows what else is lurking around!

Great job on the yard sale! :cool1:

Oh, and we have a weather radio that has batteries but it also can be cranked if the batteries die. I like it and have used it during tornadoes here in FL. Plus we have a hand crank lantern, too. MIL got them for Jeff for Christmas a few years back so I'm sure they were el cheapos, but they work fine.

Never mind... I was rambling about switching to AKL but I'm not. That new deal makes things almost cheaper than the 4/3 deal!

Lorrie - don't do it without talking to Carlos! You said he'd hate AKL! Just point out to him that it is a deluxe resort, and a lot more amenities. Who cares about the decor - just let him know that it is a good deal and that you're going to do it. But I would at least tell him before you do it. KWIM?

Ok, guys, it is snowing here! Just flurries, but it's still SNOW! Actually calling for a dusting to an inch tonight and tomorrow. This sucks!

I'm at my sisters right now - she took the kids bowling - think I already told you that. Anyway, I'm bored right now, so I updated my TR. It's a good one! But remember to use your Tessa and Erin accent. Well, not really, it's more of the Kara butchering the British accent kind of thing! :rotfl2:

Yeah - I figured out AKL would be $20 to upgrade to. POLY would be $800. But boy, would I be happy!

I think the root of it all is that I just feel that the dining plan (deluxe) is just TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much food. I think I can't get over that. I know Carlos doesn't eat dessert. Okay, so fine, we give it to Mia, but for crying out loud - 3 meals a day plus two snacks. :scared:

I think I'm more comfortable buying the basic plan and paying OOP if we are hunry rather than paying 500 to save 200 - KWIM?

I would like to stay deluxe though - boy would I like to stay deluxe. Especially since I know he probably won't do Disney more than 3 times with the kids. :sad1:

We have sleet now, but no biggie since it can't ammount to anything with it being 74 yesterday. Are you in OH or NC?

We're in Ohio - I swear this is the gloomiest state! Always overcast. I remember when we moved here from Missouri, back when I was 14, this was our biggest complaint.

Really? Everytime we are there the weather is always cool and lovely! I think it is great - actually we'd be up there this week if the cold snap hadn't came through. I'd like to have taken the kids to the zoo on spring break.

The big joke is that the sun is usually shining as we drive in and that's the last we see of it until we leave. It drives me nuts. I just can't do gloomy and cold anymore. I've become such a wimp about weather.

I will check at the lake to see what the weather radio we have there. it sounds like Kara's with the crank.

Bummer on the weather. I woke to Sunday having 2 inches of snow on the ground. It melted all that day.

Crazy day here

So I told Carlos I got an email :rolleyes1 about upgrading to AKL for $20 or Poly for $800. His response... I hadn't been "good" enough to upgrade. :rotfl:Whatever. :dance3: See how his underwear gets washed now. :rotfl2::lmao:

He's half kidding. I could tell in his voice he just didn't want to... whatever. I did read somewhere that you could use your DDP for room service but on the actual brocure the room service for CSR isn't listed. Wonder if that is a typo. :confused3

Do it! Do it!
I'm a bad influence! If you keep selling your stuff you will be at an upgrade before you know it!

You can use DDP for room service BUT everything costs you DOUBLE the credits! What a rip!

Hi everyone! I have been busy! Saturday baby shower, Sunday breakfast with the Bunny, Sunday evening a fundraiser for a school family who's little one has cancer and today I watched Matthew's speech pathologist's son in the morning and ran errands in the afternoon after I dropped Matthew off to his little classes. Elizabeth is on spring break but the weather bites here! It is in the frickin 30's. I HATE IT!

Kara....you are so close to me!! hehehehehe I should meet you there one day.

Hi Everyone!

Cammie... sorry you are going through a gloomy patch....things will brighten soon!

Hey Ladies it's been a bit crazy here. Weather stinks just like everyone else rainy cold and BLAH :sad2: so depressing. I ran around like a nut getting things done - Uniforms for work, marriage lic. to change my name on my EMT ticket, DR appt (YUCK). We were all so tired from the day we napped for 3 hours. I'll never get to bed tonight :sad2:

Lorrie- I say upgrade! I would you should see what my plans for Sept are. They include 1 week at the resort of my choice I think POFQ a 1 night ticket and the DO da DO Annual passes!!!!! :cloud9::cheer2::banana: Oh yeah and the best part Free dining!!!!! I am loving it. The best part is it works out to what we would have paid to stay with dining!

Debbie- My My you were a busy bee today. I haven't even had a chance to comment on FB :guilty: I need to catch up.

Kara- I hate when traffic interfers with plans :headache: Snow stinks, but we go away to get warm you should go away to the cold:lmao:It's just fair :rotfl2:

Tammie- So glad you're are back and had such a good time. I will check on your trip report which reminds me I haven't gotten past day 2 on mine!:scared1:

So I am becoming a pin cusion again. Labs Thyroid testing surgery for my reflux and a sleep study anyone want to trade?

Hi guys! Sounds like everyone has been so busy. And I didn't even know Kara was away. I don't know where the time goes.

Yes, crappy weekend for us too. Amanda was sick. Again.:sad1: I sound like a broken record, I know. Poor thing has been getting her period every 2 weeks. Not alot but enough to really cause havoc. You can't even imagine what it does to a kid like her. Not fun at all. Tried to get in touch with the dr. on Friday to finally do something with her meds to put an end to it all and never got a call back.

Tracked her down yesterday and we've made a change so hopefully this will take care of it.

I keep forgetting it's Easter this weekend. Need to get some goodies for the baskets. And I'm been invited to Lauren's friend's Bat Mitzvah in two weeks. It was nice of the mom to invite but now all I can think about is having to buy TWO outfits to wear - a conservative one for the Temple; then a cocktail dress for the party at night. And, of course, since I've gained weight, nothing I have fits me!:headache:

I'm hoping to have some DIS time today so I'll be back on later; heading to the gym now.

Debbie - I'm sure you know Zac is hosting SNL this weekend, right?
