Good Morning! Quick fly-by! I need to get Myles ready for school. Thanks for listening and for your comments!

Lorrie, I like your "we have no topic" comment! :rotfl2: Kind of reminds me of Seinfeld - all over the place! You don't need a car - but we're getting one because Jim complained about the bus so much last time, and sometimes we were downright miserable on the bus, so we felt like we would be happier with one. It is probably all a personality thing! Hard for us to let someone else be in charge!;)

Kara, I hope Jeff feels better- you are planning a GIRLS weekend!:goodvibes

JILLIAN! Are you :laundy: and packing?

Hi to everyone else - gotta go!

One more load Mike forgot to put in his PJ's and swimsuit and since they have been in the attic in they go. I am going to wait until Sunday Morning to put the last load in so I can be done with Laundry thank goodness. I hate leaving a messy house with Laundry I need to come home to a clean house and no laundry so our trip clothes can go in and then I won't have to worry about anything for a couple days.
Now onto living with family. It is so tough you are a true saint:hug:

Jeff's parents wanted him to come next weekend instead of this weekend and he said he couldn't b/c we're going to Disney - their response? "Again?" :rotfl2: He told his dad this is the 2nd time that everyone has bailed on his golf weekend, so he's joining us for our girls weekend... again.

I told him no problem - every time he plans a golf weekend, Ally and I get our girls weekend at Disney. And when his plans fall through, ours stay and he gets to join us! :goodvibes So now he's talking about October for his next golf weekend. No problem, I think that might be a CBR trip, or POFQ. I'm hoping to do WL for Christmas - I've heard it's the prettiest resort at Christmas time!

Well we are really thinking about going back in sept or Early october for Food and Wine. You could crash with us for the night if you would like. I think I am going to push for FQ or maybe ASMu if we need to go cheap.

Renee- We always rent a car. I like having it to go to the store outlets etc but we have our AAA parking pass and it allows us to park upfront. We do take the bus to MK or we plan breakfast at CM's that day so we can just hop on the monorail.

I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm blaming it on the prednasone though! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I went out and bought a camera today! Yep, spur of the moment. Long story short I have a very nice Power Shot that is about the size of an SLR. Love it, but I just don't travel well with it. I feel like it is an extra purse.

At target they had a powershot that was tiny. So I bought it - for Disney of course, and all those "man I wish I had a camera with me" shots I'm missing with the kids. The best part - it is SOOOOO tiny.

Prednasone, I tell ya. :rotfl2:

I am so freakin depressed right now! I just got an email from the PTA president that our school district is getting a $43 million budget CUT next year. That will eliminate so many extracurricular activies. I am already disappointed in this school and this is going to make it intolerable.

Seriously, if Jeff gets the chance to move, I'm going to encourage it. Soooo diappointed in the schools here. I may need to check into private school.....

Hmm you know where I stand on that one. Watch out she could get mixed up with some crazy private school kid and be a mercenary too :rotfl2: Schools are so tough. Our public is upping class sizes by 2-3 kids in elem and up from there for Jr and High School. I can't remember does Fl do charter schools? Good luck!

Lorrie- The car is a good and bad thing to have. It was great when we were eating at other resorts but kind of a pain especially when we left MK after Wishes and hit construction. It did make going to the airport easier, we were on our time frame and not someone elses.. Debbie is the queen of finding codes for cars so like she said hit the transport board and they will point you in the right direction.

Jillian- that was my biggest complaint, leaving a messy house. I didn't want to do it. Good luck--it's snowing here and I'd rather be packing like you are.

I need to go pry Katie from the wiggles. We'll have enough TV time tonight. Hopefully UPS delivers my WII.. :yay:

what is the model # I have a power shot and love it!!!!!!!

If I can pull off a win in Biggest Loser, I'm getting a new camera. I have the same problem Lorrie, mine is just too big. Jeff just got it for me Christmas before last, but I hate lugging it around.... They are on sale everywhere for around $100 so I don't think that is a big splurge at all.

I just had lunch with a friend up at the golf clubhouse. She texted me and asked if I could meet her today - said it was "kinda important." :scared1: she's actually my neighbor, and we're not super close, so it freaked me out. Anyway, turns out that they had to send their 15 year old son away - he is bipolar and has been having a very tough time. In fact, they moved here under the pretense that they got transferred, but the dad works from home and travels a lot, so they just wanted to give the son a fresh start. He's really a good kid, but he's going thru the typical teenage crap and being bipolar he just can't handle it. I think he was becoming suicidal and really depressed, and they didn't want to wait until it was too late. I feel for them, like I said, he's a good kid, just can't handle the other rotten kids who were treating him so badly - pretty much cyber bullying with text messages, etc.

I have a splitting headache today!!! Don't know what it is.... could be the pollen starting. It is beautiful here today! I cruised up in the golf cart with the radio blaring - so fun! It would be better with a fruity drink and my crazy disbuds hanging off the cart singing with me! :rotfl2:

Kara- you are too funny. I have to head out to get my haircut It is getting too long and I always like to freshen up before a trip. I think we are driving down in Sept. So maybe we can stop and see the golf cart :lmao: oh yeah and you Jeff and Ally too.:rotfl2:

Jillian - you are just so close! I envy you - but I know those days are nutty too! Hang in there - it will so be here before you know it!

Laura... It is downstairs. This looks like it, but it is silver. Got it 3 Christmases ago. Paid MORE for it than a DSLR :headache: but it is the thought that counts... right? I think it is about probably 5 inches thick. Pretty large overall. I carry it in a good size camera bag - won't fit in a purse.

Here is the one I got today. Functions the same - I'm having problems telling what I've lost besides just size. :confused3 I like not having a lense cap - that was one of my big gripes - a non-gripping lense cap on the other. This one is about 1 inch thick.

Kara, girl, what AREN'T you getting if you win? I've got to tease you, but I've heard now a camera, an iphone, Ally a party, and wasn't hardwood in there somewhere. :rotfl2:

That is so very sad about the neighbors son. Did they put him in a facility or to live with someone else - or what?

Me too on the headache. I think mine is drug withdrawl though. I'm craving Chinese food too. :confused3 I still say it is the drugs. :snooty:

Can I just tell you the images of you on that cart I get. Next think you know, you'll be dropping it to the ground, putting purple lights under it and hooking it up with rims! :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lorrie - too funny! I guess I really know how to stretch $300, huh? :rotfl2: Seriously, I can answer all of this. The iphone is going to be my bday present cause I can't get my upgrade allowance until July. The party Jeff agreed to so I don't have to beg for it. The hardwoods are his idea. So now I just have the camera because he told me "too bad" when I said mine was too big. This is what I have now....

This is what I want.....

I'm not a fan of Kodak or Canon. I'd prefer Sony, Pentax, or Nikon, but then again, since this is kinda my secondary camera.....

I told Jeff I want spinners!!! :rotfl2: And I said we need to get those shocks that make it bounce up and down!!!! I am TOTALLY kidding!!!! But it would be funny. They make running boards, rims, spinners, gun racks!!! Yes, gun racks!

They sent their son to a school in Utah!!! Said they couldn't keep him local or they would be too involved. This way he can go away, they can work with his meds, and get him the help he needs. She talked to 8 different people with kids there, including a cop, a minister, and an FBI agent, so they feel pretty good about the place. It's so sad. I have another friend with a son that had to be committed for 2 years until he turned 18. It was so hard on the parents....

I could not imagine having to do that - it is just such a sad situation! :sad2: It just breaks my heart!

As for the camera - I've heard really great things about the Nikon. REALLY good things. That was my second choice. I was after the highest optical zoom I could get - thus my canon.

Just quick fly by...I have the Sony Cyber shot and have been pretty happy so far.

I got an email back from our state rep replying to my email earlier today. It just has a lot of yada yada yada garbage in it. Yes, doofus, I KNOW we are in an economic crisis, but don't short the schools!!!!!

Laura, our county does not have charter schools. They are advertising that for the neighboring county (Duval county, covers all of the city of Jvill), and I'm really regretting not buying there. But at the time, we didn't want to live IN Jvill, even though we could have bought cheaper. We thought the suburbs were the way to go, and Clay county schools were highly ranked, etc. I've learned that school rankings don't mean squat. I'm sure they are doctored up all over the place. :sad2:

I seriously want to reply to this guy and say, "No Sh** Sherlock!!!" It makes me mad. This is just part of it....

Today Florida is experiencing a historic decline in revenue caused by a national and international recession. We are in uncharted waters, and despite our best efforts, our state still faces enormous challenges ahead.

Duh!!!!!

Kara- The pink sony is what I just got and I love it. I took the pictures of Badookie with it and the t shirts. I LOVE it!

We are having similar cuts in Oregon. Two schools are shutting down here, and the kids were told today that they won't get hired except for subbing for 5 years. So they are really hoping to get hired in Texas.

I think it will be good for them to move, but it will kill me to be away from those babies!

I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm blaming it on the prednasone though! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Prednasone, I tell ya. :rotfl2:

That Prednasone is terrible stuff!:lmao: I love having a small camera - I travel really light at the parks. My old Kodak was the size of the "smaller" one in the first camera pics. Now the Pentax I bought is a "credit card" camera:thumbsup2 The only thing I don't like is the indoor shots seem grainy - I have to learn how to use it.

I found two codes on the transportation board - full size car for 8 days for $220.

Hiya all,

Lorrie - we always go with the car option too... we stay off site so much easier - I also think it is nice to be able to go "out" to eat sometimes too not just on property....

It really cracks me up you girls saying you get lost on Disney roads.... we travel 9 hours to get over there, drive on the other side of the road to normal, in an automatic gearbox car (we are still mainly stick-shift over here) and think your roads are an absolute breeze....:goodvibes ESPECIALLY round disney property where there are ten tons of signposts.... I would soooooo love to see you all manage on "the magic roundabout" in Swindon UK - I think it is 5 (yes FIVE) interlinked roundabouts all together - even hubby panics a bit at that one ... see
http://www.armin-grewe.com/holiday/wiltshire/swindon-roundabout.htm

Anyhows - camera wise we also have 2 - MY (in case you are reading hubby it is MY!!!!) DSLR - an Olympus E410 - lightweight body shell, smaller than the Canon. And OUR small Canon IXUS950IS - takes fantastic pics and decent short video too.. same size as a packet of cigarettes - remember those?? (I tend to describe myself as a smokeaholic who hasn't had a ciggie in mmmmmmmmmm 11years 2months and 4 days..... approximately :lmao:)

Hope you are all fit and healthy....... the diet/thing is giving me a buzz right now i.e. it's still going well , so not quite so down....

Tessa

Oh, Tessa, I think I just got nausous looking at that road!!!! Plus, if you all have stick shifts, Are they on the left? I would be lost. My first car here was a stick shift, but I used my right hand, so if I had to drive with it using my left, I'd be off the road in no time! It's funny, we have a roundabout here, right before you get to our neighborhood, and people get confused on that. I think there have only been maybe 2 other cars on it at any one time I have been. It's so not very busy, and like I said, well, people get confused. I have never driven in Europe, but I can imagine it would be like Chevy Chase in European Vacation! :rotfl2:

Tammie - good to see that you think the move would be good for the kids. Even though it would be hard to not see the grandkids as much. My inlaws make Jeff feel guilty all the time for moving a whopping 6 hrs away. Makes me so mad. It's very rare nowadays to stay in the same area your whole life. What with job transfers, etc. I would love to someday get transferred to VA. That would be about 1/2 between my parents and Jeffs. I do not like being 13 hrs from my family. And I hate to fly, so 13 hrs it is.

Good Friday Morning.

With 3 days to go I just scored a Minivan for our trip on Priceline for $244. We have been stressed out about not having enough room now we do.

Tessa- That rotary is awful I thought we had some bad ones here in Boston, but that takes the cake. Mike and I were in Rome and the Rotarys there made me sick.

Kara- Have you checked the park hours they changed on me.

that roundabout is horrible! I'd get lost and I can be a good driver.

good job on the van Jillian. bummer about the hours. I knew those budget cuts were going to hit the parks sooner or later.

Tammie-teaching is tough. Have the kids been in the classroom before? I hope that they find something that will work for them. It would be tough to move away from family. Then again I'm the one that is less than 1 mi from both sets of parents. hahaha

bummer day here. Snowed last night. don't want to get out of jammmies. We are headed to the waterpark tomorrow for a mini-staycation. then spring break next week (***?) love the calendar. Beth had 6 kids in her grade head to FL yesterday. She's kind of bumming out too. I think I am going to hit the used game store to see if I can pick up any used WII games cheap. Love that stupid thing already.
