I just gasped for air when I read that. Tim thought I had lost it. He thought it was a bit redneck too

Good morning everyone! Finding it so hard to catch up on all that I missed last week. Can you believe, I haven't even really been on FB yet? I just update my status on Sunday and saw that I had 56 notifications! Haven't read them yet!

Lauren - I love what you posted and yes, I am going to take the "glass is half-full" attitude!:thumbsup2

I wish I could find a way to sync my cell phone to my puter - I took a pic of a limo that I see parked on the way to gymnastics every week. It is a limo, with the back end of a pickup truck! Seriously, I live in redneck heaven down here! :lmao: And then (and no, I didn't get a pic of this!), I was walking through the mall and ya know those kiosks they have in the center of the mall? There was a guy working at the Sprint kiosk and he was sitting on a stool, CLIPPING HIS TOENAILS!!!! I swear, I couldn't make this stuff up! This is why I am a homebody!

Ok - NOW I get what you were texting me about last night!

totally off topic-- has anyone ever built a school playground or been involved witht the planning of one? guess who has a new PTO project?

Good luck with that Laura! I remember when my inlaws had a big debate over a playground for their neighborhood. It was close to $20K for what looks like a $500 swing set. Seriously. It got ugly.

As for being off topic, what exactly IS our topic??? :rotfl2:

Anyone used those Green Bags? They are AWESOME!!! I would always buy a bunch of bananas and by the 3rd day, they'd be brown and nasty. I put a bunch in one of those green bags, and they last a week and a half! Seriously. I could be the spokeswoman - I love them! A head of leaf lettuce lasts about 3 weeks!!!!

Must tell me about the CSI - I've thought about getting that for us.
Erin - how funny! I bet it will be a great time - lots of catching up! Can't wait to hear how it goes. Don't be nervous - be yourself. If it doesn't work out, just don't talk to them for another decade! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Have fun tonight Erin!!!:)

Oh i looove the csi games, they're great you collect evidence and interview suspects it's just great hahaha

We had so much fun and everyone was exactly the same which was even funnier, there was about 13 of us in the end

Tessa - so great to see you!!! You do NOT have to have a trip planned to be here - we miss you! I rely on you and Erin to educate me on other customs, and just when I'm in need of a little Brit info, here you come with Pancake Day!!!! :rotfl: All I know is that any day that is celebrated with food is a good day for me! :rotfl2: I guess that's why I gained 7 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.... :rolleyes1

Oh i looove Pancake Day, Shrove Tuesday and tomorrow is Ash Wednesday no special food but ho hum hahaha .. We have had many pancakes with so much on haha .. lemon and sugar (traditional) .. Syrup and ice cream yumyum .. And loads of fruit on the side that the kids dip in all diff sauces hahaha yes we loove pancake day!!

I love you guys! I just have to say I have had a long tiring day and then I open up this thread to check in on my buds and it is light hearted and funny and comfortable!

You guys crack me up! First I am all deep reading Laura's post about the economy followed by Tammie and Kara's take on things where I proceed to toe clipping in public to Cammie stuck back in he real world with out WDW to pancakes to Laura saying "by the way has anyone ever built a playground"....OMG I about peed my pants!

And Tessa...I hear where you are coming from. I am missing WDW so bad and I am such a grump when I don't even have a trip in the works. If I didn't like all of you guys so much I would be taking a DIS break. It makes things too tempting and when your life is consumed with trying NOT to spend it's easier to stay away and not think about what you are missing! I am not even visiting any on-line shopping sites or the budget boards for that reason. I think I am doing better and we might even come up with a low budget trip or two. We will see! I refuse to be all doom and gloom myself but some days I admit I stress. It's the worrier in my that sneaks out!

BTW PLEASE don't miss understand me. I LOVE your pix, and stories and hearing when and where you guys are eating! I mean that IS why we are all TRULY connected! Cammie...I already miss my pix via the phone! They are the highlight of my day...hint hint Jillian...Kara.....Renee......

Oh, I love you!:worship: I am laughing out loud - I haven't even finished reading your post! We are like family for sure, aren't we all?:grouphug:

Hi everyone! My 4:30 cancelled, and Jim is out of town with BBall, so I'm relaxing and catching up for a bit, then I guess I'll get some work done, and make some calls tonight!

Hiya all,

it's nice to read all the lovely replies to my NO-WDW woes.......

Well, we ate LOADS of pancakes yesterday.... my youngest had a friend round for tea and I asked if she liked pancakes and she said she had never had them..... well that's a nice challenge..... we had nutella chocolate spread, bananas in toffee sauce, lemon and sugar, cherry pie filling.....you name it....

Do you girls over the pond know it is UK pancakes we are on about??? large dinner plate size pancakes which are thinner that US pancakes but thicker than crepes. I think I had one in the US once , but....... it was wrapped round something savoury...... soooo weird....... You should try them if you haven't had them.... sooooo yummy and dead easy!!!!

Lots of recipies.. mine makes 6-8
4oz/110g plain flour
1/2pt /225ml milk (I use semi skimmed - 2% fat)
1 egg
pinch salt

Mix it all till not lumpy (alternatively give up after 3 min and sieve it:goodvibes) , heat a teaspoon of oil in a large frying pan, put a ladle full of mixture in, swirl it round the pan, leave for 2 min, turn - or toss/flip the pancake for more fun - leave for 1 min, EAT!!!!! Traditionally we eat them rolled up with a teaspoon of caster sugar sprinkled on and a dash of lemon juice.

Have to go alter the ticker - another pound down this week... working on the "one pound a week = 52 pounds in a year" principle!!!!! Doing my own design of diet, I call it the FOR GOODNESS SAKE WOMAN EAT LESS AND EXERCISE MORE ---YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT diet with a day off a week so I can do things like pancakes, or eat out that day.... and not get too demoralised - hence only one pound a week....

bye,bye for now..

Tessa

Good morning!

Tessa - you crack me up! Love the name of your diet! I need to try that one too!:lmao:

I haven't read what I missed yesterday so I'm not quite sure why you posted a recipe for pancakes - but they sound good. Would prefer if someone could come here and make them for me!

I'M SICK!!!! Stuffy nose, sore throat, and headache. And I KNOW the hacking cough is coming next (it always does). I had a bit of it last night which kept me up past 11pm and I'm now exhausted. Think I'll be heading back to bed for a little while.

I'm going to take it easy today so hopefully I'll be back on hear later. I still have not gotten over to FB to do much of anything. The girls are with their dad this weekend; hope to spend some time then. Now I know we all have TRs and pre-TRs going (which I promise to check into each & every one!) but I'm putting in a plug for a report I'd like you guys to check out if you have time. This girl has been posting on my TRs and she just started her own from a trip she took in January. She's only 10 years old and she's soooo cute and sweet. She writes pretty well too so I'd just like to see her get some readers. Here's the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2100998

I knew she was young but didn't realize she was only 10. Lauren has been following along with her comments and has now asked me if she could create her own DISboard account! I don't know if I want her invading my world here!:snooty: Kara - she says she specifically wants to track you down because you crack her up. Anyway, she's been over on the TeenDisney board, looking at some threads. There's a JB thread where the girls post a ton of pix - she's been dying to comment over there but since she's on my acct. I won't let her. I mean, it would be embarassing to see a 40 something yr.old woman posting on a JonasBrothers thread, wouldn't it?

So I don't know what I'm going to do. I mean, we're already fighting each other for time on the computer as it is, could you imagine if we were BOTH on the DIS?:surfweb:

So Ally and I went shopping for bathroom stuff last night - shower curtain, rugs, etc. She picked out the black/red I don't know what it's called - but it's got the woman's shoe, hat, dress, very cute, very chic. But I think it's a bit too old for her. She loves it though! So I'm thinking I'm going to try to find it with pink accents, and modify it to make it a little younger. She is torn on having a very bright bathroom (lime green, hot pink, polka dots) or this chic black/red (or black/pink) bathroom. Plus, I don't want to paint her bathroom red. It's a tiny bathroom and red is so hard to cover in the future.

This is the one we bought - with some lime green towels. I thought of painting the bathroom a pale pink (even though she wants blue....) and then stenciling big polka dots in the different colors?

Then I just found this one online... may be more appropriate for an 8 year old?

Oh, and this one is at Target!!!!

Good Morning!

Tessa, I'm happy you enjoyed your pancakes!:thumbsup2 Your recipe sounds like my Swedish pancakes, except we add a Tbsp of sugar. Scandanavians must have sugar!:goodvibes We roll them up as we take them out of the pan. As a child, we opened them up, buttered them and had sugar and cinnamon on them. As I grew up, I liked the butter and syrup on them. My boys like the cinnamon and sugar AND the syrup. Good luck with the diet!

Cammie, I'm sorry you're sick. Sounds like you caught it from Lauren. Get some rest. As for the DIS, that's a tough one. You can't be as honest about your life if your child is reading. :rolleyes1

YUMMMMM! Tessa, your diet is SMART! Seriously. First of all, 1 lb a week is a healthy way to lose, and you're right, you can still splurge every once in a while and still lose weight! Our trainer told me that you should never have to deprive yourself. Just eat smart, smaller portions, exercise, and if you want to go crazy one day, just remember to add a little more exercise to burn it off.

Cammie - so sorry you're feeling sick! My rule is "vitamin C whenever you pee." :rotfl2:

As for Lauren on the dis - we've already talked about teens on FB, and even though we all know Lauren is smart and responsible, she is still at "that age." Ya know? I would just continue to let her surf the dis on your account, but no posting. That is just my opinion. She cracks me up so much though! We will definitely catch you guys in December. Ally likes looking at the pics you post on your TR - she thinks Lauren is so "cool." :rotfl:

Good Morning! They are all cute, but I do like the polka dots for Ally! Your painting idea sounds great! the linens4less link says, "YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO ACCESS THIS WEBPAGE!" Scared me!:rotfl2:
